jacksonaw
Dear Sirs, I am a proud owner of a 2003 Discovery which is one of my fav cars. Off lately i am noticing that my car is making an effort to make the fist move of the day as if it is carrying a lot of load. What i want to know is what is the problem? There is no other issue with the car. Thank you for the help in advance Sincerly Jackson
bmwdoc
Hi Jackson, welcome to the group, are you using the hand brake during the night as my first thought if it only happens in the morning is the hand brake is sticking on. could also be a gear box problem i.e. when the gear oil is cold it is thicker than when hot, you may need to check the oil quality and level, this can only be done in a garage really. the only other problem i can think of is an auto choke / MAS problem. Questions: does it happen at any other time, has it just started recently (i.e. last couple of weeks since the colder weather)? are you using more petrol than normal? is the engine idleing correctly with AC on and AC off? is the vehicle parked on a gradiant / hill / slope / half on and off the curb during the night? when was the last service? how many KM on the car now if you can anser these questions it will help me narrow down the most lickly cause.
