jayd
a slight bent on the belt will say if it needs changing If it cracks on slight bent then it surely dose changing.
LFA
new models such as LS460, GS300, GS460, GS350, GX460, LX570, IS300, ES350, RX350 comes with a TIMING CHAIN, wherein it doesnt need any replacement at all. But for old models, as per manufacturing standard. timing belt should be change 150,000 KMS or 4 years. Contact your nearest dealership to check whether it was changed or not. Also, see the bearings such as the tensioner, pulleys and the water pump if there's a coolant leak
shadow79
timing chains do not need any replacement but there are conditions to this statement only if you observe very precise and regular oil changes with good quality oils or manual recommended oil quality if not then chains also get cracked and then break at some point (i have seen broken chains at my workshop)
elvis
Belt every 100k and chain after 200k depending on the condition. Simple.
