after car getting serviced at a petrol station the check engine warning showed up.

Asking the mechanic there he said that the dealer has to remove this message

my question is it wasnt there before then how did it just appear out of nowhere?

the sign needs to be removed from a good service agency. they will use a computer and connect it to your car comp to remove it.

it depends what the petrol station did. they might have damaged a sensor or something like that. best thing is to take it to peugeot so they can check what error code is.
