Thanks to HILTI for organizing such a nice desert cleanup drive. Thanks to Emarat4x4 for supporting this great cause with their marshals support. Thanks to Rahimdad, for sharing this here and giving us an opportunity to pitch in. We had such a great turn out of over 60 cars and above 150 people in total. Split the total numbers in 4-5 convoys and cleaned the entire desert behind the Al Awir Palace and Military base camp. Started at 7:00 am from Dragon mart and reached by 7:30 to the deflation point. Cleaned the desert for good 2-3 hours with great support of Dubai municipality helpers in their trolleys and LC's to pick up the collected trash to bring it out on the road. It's a very good initiative from HILTI to inspire other bigger organization on how to be more environmentally responsible in the UAE. And hope other offroad clubs in UAE also follow the footsteps of Emarat4x4 to support these great initiatives.

As Barry rightly put it, you have to get down and dirty and start somewhere. On my Honda Civic DX 1991 model I changed the Fuel Pump also, but that was a manual one and not one of those electric circuit boards for the Electronic Fuel Injection. You would never know until you don't try. Changing a MAF sensor was easy on my Disco 1, 1998 model, some people would hesitate to charge a battery also with the fear of a shock or burn.

Although we might have picked up a needle in the hay stack, but Gaurav bhai's initiative to get this posted in 7 Dyas in recommendable. I always believed and voiced my concern with such drives that its not just spending half a day or full day in such activity. I believe we can do this every week in once area only and every week we will find the same amount of trash, such is the thinking and habit of people around us. More important is to educate people about the environment, the responsibilities of maintaining the environment for us and our generations to come and keeping the natural balance. One of the most popular and beautiful wadi in UAE has been closed since 2009 due to the carelessness of humans who did not respect their environment and almost destroyed a piece of heaven on earth. I am talking about Wadi Wurraiyah. For this of you who are unaware about it, please Google it up. Media is a very good medium to get your voice heard and my hats off to Gaurav for making that impact. Once again I would like to conclude by thanking all at Carnity who supported the initiative by Hilti and express my gratitude to Gaurav Bhai for starting this forum and being able to maintain it over the years and attract car enthusiasts on such a brilliant front, and specially for getting the media involved. I understand that the media did not do justice and printed only half the truth, but atleast this is a start which we can build on.

I disagree. Oil changes are one of the simplest things you can do. Check out this guide I wrote on the advice section, There are lots of good advices on that section of the forum, have a look and see what you can learn, watch videos on YouTube. You can learn a lot of theory on the internet but you need to start doing things and getting your hands dirty to learn properly. If you have a tame mechanic, ask them if you can watch them work and get them to explain things to you. A lot of mechanics won't do this so if you find a friendly one, take care of him.

@Ak I bought this Trail Blazer for my wife, who uses for mall run with one kid, so most important part for us was the safety and strength of this vehicle should be good. I have been told from my colleague whose sister crashed her TB and jumped on round about by smashing 2 cars at the speed of 60 and literally nothing happened to the car. Last month my wife got hit from back and again TB strength put to display that only tow hook got little paint of other car, and nothing happen to TB. We didn't even claimed the insurance for green paper as there was only hairline crack in the bumper paint. For the drive comfort me and my wife absolutely LOVE IT. It's comfort is second to Range Rover in my car owning history, although it doesnt have EAS, but it glides extremely smooth on highway. I think it has a torsion rod suspension, which is better than coil springs anyday. Only thing I didn't like was the mop quality fabric seats, I guess it's may be because ours is the lowest option. So we got whole custom upholstery done from my friend's shop in Ajman and it costed us 800 dhs (I think). For the servicing side, when I got this TB 4-5 months got the whole car service from Liberty (Shj) outside facility including the gear oil and filter change with check and top-up on all diff and 4x4 oil's costed me roughly 1000 dhs. If I remember correctly major cost was gear oil change close to 500-600 as it is done once in 40,000 Kms. Since then there was nothing else spent on maintenance, other than the gear shifter cable broke. I accidentally ordered the cable and have to buy it too for 175 dhs, as after @Barry creative and permanent solution I don't think I will ever need that cable again.
