yes general tune up should be the answer like throttle clean plugs change and air filter change if there is a fuel filter then change that as well if you really wanna go that way then try bng it has effect to some extent others are snake oils...do you feel any type of unusual vibration at idle or only the milage drop ?

Well you have the 3.0 i6, the 3.0 i6 turbo, the 4.0 and the 4.3 V8 so if you want something efficient and cheap to run, this isn't the car for you. If you want comfort, luxury and build quality, by all means, go for it.

I'm not really bothered if I get likes or not. In fact, I've dropped half a star lol. I give advice where I can, if someone learns something or they can save a few dirhams, I know the karma will come back to me at some point. When the 1 like = 1 dirham was in place I would have been more concerned. To be honest, that was one of the biggest motivating factors when I signed up initially. I wasn't working at the time and the extra money for beer was handy. Now it's gone so meh, I just stay because I rarely get the chance to chat with like minded people in the real world. Even when I was working in a garage, the mechanics never really seemed to have any interest in cars other than fixing them so Carnity was a breath of fresh air.

I'm sure many of us have driven with so many off-road clubs in the UAE and have different good, bad and amazing experiences. Learning from those I would like everyone here to share their good experiences and qualities required to make this a best off-road club in UAE. To start my suggestions are: Safety is paramount, but be friendly and approachable Should maintain discipline but only to a tolerable extent Preserve all drive images and videos with easy to use gallery Well equipped with safety, emergency, medical and recovery gears Should have regular different level drives for a newbie, fewbies, intermediate and extreme

@derik we have a lot of fuel filters with brown gunk in it...and those cars are from uae never been out of this country...

its a tough thing to return once its out of package let alone a used one what gaurav bhai did is amazing and made me learn a new thing...

While you might not need to change the petrol filter often due to blockages, it's best to change it every 50-60k due to degradation which will decrease fuel flow. On older vehicles with metal tanks, it should be changed more often. The tanks corrode internally and small flakes of rust can cause a lot of damage if they were to get to the injectors or carburetor. The gauze in the fuel pump will catch most of the larger stuff but some small pieces can get through. Diesels are a different story and the fuel filter is generally a service item to be changed along with the oil filter. Especially in modern common rail systems with high pressure pumps, the smallest particle can wreck a pump causing a huge repair bill.

It's better and advisable to have all 4 tires of the same brand, age, tread, and design. If different you might loose good grip and result in lower fuel mileage.

Pajero Evolution

Finally, after a lot of anticipation and good work of Sharjah Economic Development Department, I finally received the full refund of 900 AED from Al Qaswa Auto Spare Parts a few hours back. Many thanks to Saif from Sharjah Economic Development Department, very well done.

Keeping theory aside, I'm driving this Pajero since 7 years with the working clutch and have been getting loud and audible cues whenever I push hard and the temperature drops back in no time.

Desertdude, thanks for your ideas to check the fan clutch but they are just identifying ONLY first function when it's not working. I have checked the resistance of the new fan clutch and it was holding little pressure as it supposed to be. However, problem is that when the car overheated and it failed to engage fully to spin at faster RPM. Hence it failed in the second most important function of engine fan clutch. There was no naming and shaming yet, and I just shared my real experience with all documented details and evidence to seek advice from other car owners in UAE. I guess that's the main purpose of Carnity to help each other with their car knowledge and experiences. Moreover, up until yesterday as per Saleem's CONSECUTIVE advice I didn't stand any chance and now in less than 14 hours, I have got multiple ways to report and seek fair justice to my consumer rights after paying 900 AED and getting treated like a monkey from a salesman who was teaching Saleem and myself on how to identify the problem. Simply to brush away the non-working part complaint with 100 other ideas to divert attention. All thanks to Carnity members and friends who understand the real meaning of car community in the UAE.

I agree, Barry and I am under the same impression that genuine spare parts should have at least 6 months - 12 months of warranty and dealer/agent supposed to replace if it's faulty or non-working or not performing as the way it should be. Not agreeing to any of the above options, forces me to believe that it was fake in the first place. I will definitely report to Habtoor and Mitsubishi. Do you have any ways to report or the right email address where I can send this case full details? Like I said many times in person to you before, that it isn't the case of 50 AED spark plug and it's a case of the "critical" and high-value component that should not have any chance of failure. What if I wouldn't be paying attention to overheating and blow up my engine, then no agent will take responsibility for this critical part being incompetent to do its job.

I don't think you ever need to change fuel filter unless some issue with the use of bad quality fuel like in some places in oman and saudi. If you were always in UAE, then not required to be honest.
