  2. I guess you’re talking about the inner cv joint which goes into the diff? Smell the oil on it. Gear oil is stinky and you can’t mistake it for anything else. Maybe the oil seal has gone and all the oil has come out of the diff and screwed it. So worth checking how much oil is in it too. If there’s yellowish fluid on the inside of the wheel rim, the first thing to do is make sure it’s not brake fluid. Then look at the rubber boot on the cv joint and see if there are clips on both ends and that the rubber isn’t split. If the grease has come out of the joint, you can try repacking it again and sealing it up. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. It depends on how much driving you’ve done with no grease in it. Probably best if you just take it to a proper mechanic who should be able to diagnose it in 15-20 minutes.

  3. @Jeh we saw some people sand boarding on top of Pink Rocks which is easily accessible from the back road all the way up. Just worried about traffic though specially with the weather getting better and more clubs opening their doors to more off-road drives. There are many dunes of you take the road from Maliha to Tawi Nazwa, you can find any suitable dune, leave your car by the road side and enjoy some sand boarding.

  4. Waiting for @skumar83 trip report, here is my point of view. Met on time at the designated area, has a quick bite and we were off to the deflation point. After deflation and a quick word for the drivers brief we were off right on top of Big Red. Accompanied by my wife who felt that @skumar83 was a bit to adventurous with a scream every here and there, I felt proud that someone within 8 months and just 30 off drives could lead so well. Only in Carnity. @baselsm83 also managed well and kept up with what turned out to be a quick thrilling ride to Pink Rocks. At this point my wife was like she liked roller coaster rides better because she knows they get over in 2 minutes. Being early I asked if they wanted to continue to Fossil Rocks and they were all game, so started a section of off-road journey which linked the 2 areas together. This clears the air on why we call it out sand box. The second part was almost as enjoyable and we flew at good pace to reach the Fossil Rocks at a good time after rescuing a couple of vehicles on the way. The weather was beautiful as was the company. All in all we had the flavour of 2 drives in a day with over 50 kilometers covered off-road. My kudos to the team who keeps learning and growing in experience and confidence. Thanks @skumar83 for a wonderful day out in our beloved place.

  5. I'm not an expert on these but I did look into them a while ago. I always wanted a challenger and if the wife pushed out a baby, charger was the second option because of the extra doors. The main difference between the RT and the SRT is 100 BHP and 75 ft lb of torque. RT has 375 ish BHP. You need to ask yourself, is that enough? Personally for me, it's plenty. There are limited opportunities to use it in UAE unless you're doing track days. Speed cameras every few hundred meters kind of defeat the purpose of fast cars. There are no major reliability issues but build quality isn't the best. Lots of hard plastics and things screwed together by minimum wage workers in America who just want to finish their day and go for a beer. I can't answer your questions about price. The market here is totally fake, prices are dictated by whatever the dealers feel like putting on their fake ads on dubzzle. Another thing I'd like to add, just personal opinion though, I wouldn't get sucked into the whole GCC specs thing. Sure they were built and designed in USA but Texas in USA is just as hot as UAE so obviously they were designed to work in a similar climate. I know a lot of people will argue with me on this point and say GCC has bigger radiators and compressors etc but then done American cars designed to work near the equator have lesser parts? Surely the Americans will look after there own people rather than a handful of arabs? Be aware though, because of the mentality of people here, the resale of US spec cars is less than GCC cars. Also if you're buying a US car, check it on carfax website. You will get full proper history, unlike here.

  6. Very valid point barry. I wouldn't blame her either to such response but it's that girl thingy is always been missed in Carnity, let alone the UAE girl's mindset when it comes to cars. Their brother, husbands, sons, will fix it and we will drive it. That's it.
