Hi @Andrei S , don't uproot yourself over these small things. @Gary F @Zulfikhar Naiyar @Krishna R should have been your spotters everytime you reverse in the dark, but I guess they miss the trees for the larger forest & night landscape. No need to break a twig though, teamwork takes time and we can learn it from trees as this Forbes article says. It's good you carry that useful tool in the cargo, as any one, two, or tree will think twice before they have an axe to grind with you. Glad we all bury the hatchet last night, except for that one tree. After various non-destructive attempts, the 3.8 Jeep was frustrated, screaming "LEAF me alone!" Alas, since the tree wooden give in, the last option was chosen. And we all have to seed some plants to respect and restore nature's balance. The weather was pleasant and we got some minor challenges that were dealt with with a smile ! Brilliant driving by all of you. The terrain definitely wasn’t the easiest with lots of tricky narrow spots, descents, and some super soft areas. See you all soon again !

Cannot agree with you more @Frederic.... seeing my name as second lead on a night drive, which was a first for me (i think), and in a terrain i have never driven before, i was consoling myself that i would anyway be following another long wheelbase car - your Patrol.......but it was shortlived ....seeing the green frog lined up when i arrived, definitely gave me the 'oops" thought bubble Like in your briefing it was really a weird unpredictable terrain with a cocktail of everything - bushes, tree stumps, soft sand, rocks, pipes!!, hoses!!!, pumps!!!, fences !!! and the cherry on top - a gazelle at night 👇👇 (for those who can spot, or else be content with the scurrying silhouette ...) Another video when i realised i cannot follow the trooper everywhere, took a short cut, saw a bush , tried to steer clear and lo and behold - @Gary F calls out - 2 wheels in the air, but the Fortuner's 4LO + Diff Lock did the trick Good job on your first FB+ @Andrei S, and that too a night drive.... hope you got some pointers to take home and see you soon on the next one!!... good to drive with everyone - @Benjamin @Krishna R @Zulfikhar Naiyar another night drive with you guys in a short span 👍, and great driving again with old timers - @Gok Krish @Waqas Parvez and @Zed

This terrain is a mix of technical dunes with mid-sized ones and not often visited by other off-roaders. As always, teamwork will be essential and communication will be key while driving in the dark. I understood the problem as soon as I read your post. Gone through this myself. 3 months I was offroading in the club with the same problem wondering what happened to my car. I am really angry for garages doing this deliberately to make us spend more money culminating in replacing a busted engine. We pay the bills given to us by them promptly. The mechanic keep charging us for replacing the knock sensor, the cam shaft sensors, the crank shaft sensor finally replacing the throttle body. When we reach this stage the engine head gaskets will be already busted. No codes will appear for the spark plug, instead all other codes will appear. We will never doubt a spark plug mismatch as we trusted the mechanic to have put the right ones for which we paid. The moment you realize u have been cheated u will feel so angry with the garage for making us fool. All this happens because the garages know the owner of the car lacks technical knowledge. They think its very smart to fool us like this. The clue to your problem was in your write up itself at the last paragraph. Instantly I knew what was the problem. When you don't put the manufacturer specified spark plugs with a different one having a different heat range the ignition starts to behave strange when the engine gets hot. I know the sequence of repairs the garage will suggest to get rid of the issue. You already replaced the knock sensor. Next they will say crank shaft & cam sensor. Anyways it your good luck I noticed the write up and reached out to you immediately. Enjoy your drive today and post the results. If at all any further damage has happened it will be the throttle body sensor as you may have used the throttle too much and probably heated up the motor rendering it weak. I hope you didn't reach to that stage as this spark plug change happened recently. In my case I had to replace the throttle body as I ran the car like this for 3 months and pushed the throttle excessively while offroading. Even if the throttle body motor has become weak don't worry. U get a used throttle body for 150 AED.
