Dear Desertnauts here's the latest info for Sunday morning's drive. The meeting point will be on Faqa's sabkha, north of the town, just south of the Solar Tower. We'll enter the dunes closer to the tower than my previous drives, to face somewhat taller dunes, to continue toward Little Sweihan all along the Solar Park's fence. If we'll manage to keep our speed and minimize any issue, we should be able to proceed south of the Shooting Grounds' fence, into the Ghantoot quadrant, to end our drive. The order for this advanced convoy will be: @Mohamad Anwer in SL @Paolo Pellegrini at #3 @Rk ram at #4 @Alphin Aloor at #5 @Fabien Monleau at the Center @Bjoern in #7 @Naim Aoun at #8 @Zulfikhar Naiyar at #9 @Imteeaz at #10, and @Pacific in Sweep (with the possibility of switching position with the other Support Team members. See you on Sunday morning, rested and ready to go. Have a great beginning of the weekend.3 points

Dear @ahmad lootahwelcome to Carnity ! Every newjoiner (whatever the drive level and experience) will first need to do 1 Newbie level drive. Once that one is completed you can request a promotion to Fewbie level on below link: Request Promotion This is to ensure we can gauge your previous experience and make sure you are safe and looked after. See you soon in the sand !2 points

Dear @DP1011 thank you for you message , unfortunately i missed to check the level requirements during the registration, so as I understood now that i should join the newbie drive to qualify for this drive despite my actual driving experience ?2 points

I want to leave this here for easy reference tomorrow morning: https://maps.app.goo.gl/XpCRDACquc4m5ZDs8 This is the ADNOC fuel station 18km to the meeting point. Note that it does not have an ADNOC Oasis shop, but rather a small shop/cafe that doesn't sell much. No Hot coffee for sure.2 points

I think I've seen those around online actually, though for different vehicle models. If it's just 150 at a garage then i'll send that picture to my guys and have them install it the next time i'm over there. Thanks!1 point

Yea the reviews weren't brilliant to be honest with multiple people stating that the cup would need an adjustment about once per drive, but as a temporary solution while I figure the best mount it should hopefully suffice. Edit: Flag that I got has the quick release attachment 👍1 point

If you are on a budget, it’s best to stick to the original rims. The reason is because we have seen cheap aftermarket rims failing as the casting quality is poor. The Mitsubishi rims can take a serious beating. There is no performance improvement in the sand or mountains in original vs after market rims. It’s a bold statement but also a fact. The size you’re suggesting is fine. Less than 17’ simply doesn’t fit on the 3.8 models due to the bigger caliper in the front. The original rims are 7Inch width from what I remember, which is better in the mountains as this will mean the rim itself will be better tucked in. Going for a 8.5 inch width rim will mean your tyres are stretched over them rim and will leave the rim very exposed to rocks and damage.1 point
