SUPPORT TEAM Pre-requisite 1) Minimum 10 any level "Carnity" drives are required after your Intermediate promotion to become eligible for the Support Team. Once you decide to join Team Carnity to excel further with your off-roading, people, and commanding skills, you will be extensively trained by the whole Team Carnity from Expert - Marshal - Crew at various stages by supporting different levels drives. Activities for Support Team Members Support different Marshals and Crew at Newbie level drives to demonstrate: Your ability and willingness to support new offroaders. Ability to gain control of commanding situations. And clear communication skills to help manage the convoy. Possible progress toward becoming an Advisor Once you have proved to be a regular Supporting Team member and have supported different trip leads on several Newbie and Fewbie drives, we will gather your periodic feedback. Based on this feedback and reviews you might receive an invitation to become a Carnity Advisor for further advancement within our community. You will also need to have completed a minimum of 5 Intermediate Level drives, and be a regular club member (minimum supporting 6 Newbie or Fewbie drives per quarter) to become eligible. Being invited to an Advisor role means we put our faith in you as a passionate club member who displays maturity and passion to carry your knowledge on to new off-roaders who are still progressing through the ranks.

Hi @MICHAEL PAJERO single door I am somewhat surprised that the performance of your Pajero is not satisfactory. A 3.8 two door Pajero is usually more than powerful enough to tackle any terrain in stock condition, let alone after doing performance upgrades like better intake and exhaust systems. I suspect there is another issue with your Pajero that is holding it back from unleashing its power. Unfortunately there could be many possibilities, like timing, engine wear, injectors, fuel distribution, spark plugs, etc.. Do you have the maintenance history of this car ? Has the engine been replaced or rebuilt ? Is the maintenance fully up to date ? I would get the manifold welded or replaced with a scrapyard one if you can find it. Adding a performance muffler and slightly bigger diameter pipe can help the car to breathe more easily, but I think in your case there is something else holding it back. I faced a similar issue with my 99 3.0 Pajero years back. It simply had no power. Took many mechanics and lots of trials until a mechanic found out that the timing was set wrongly. Took him 15 mins to adjust and it turned into a completely different car.

what shops are you guys going to... damn. First of all that somebody did a 2" lift and NOT alignment and let you out to the street to drive like that is criminal. Pajero after even 1" looks comical and needs adjustment on both axles. Luckily, there is PLENTY of room for adjustment on this car and a proper alignment is pretty easy to achieve, so it does not require a PhD to do it. Second: there are plenty of shops that understand the need to do custom alignment and will work to make it right (but it won't cost 100AED like on those lazy places that do it because they want to take you on a ride every time you change tires or buy windscreen wipers - you know which ones I am talking about...). I understand that we can't point out places here due to internal rules (and even local laws), but sometimes it's just... necessary.

Hi Luke Used a workshop with proper laser alignment equipment. And one that came recommended by a Pajero specialist workshop. Seemed all OK when I left but on Monday after the Sunday drive as I walked up to the car in the morning my eye caught an angle that did not look right. Have checked the car in different lighting and still get the same difference. Maybe just too much time in construction, always looking for snags! But will get it checked out on Saturday morning.

I second with Fredy on this, first it's wise to fix what is evident (like manifold leak) repair or change, and then also dig deeper by bringing the car back to stock shape, as many times wrong mods cause a lack of power. My number one suspect in your car was the air filter, as Imran mentioned it's for fuel efficiency, so that would be a good starting point to remove fully and bring back to stock with OEM setup and filter. 3.8 + SWB Pajero has much more power than your current car displays.

Thank you @Simon D I enjoyed the fast-paced nature of the drive hitting off all the key dunes in Tawi Nizwa. I think drives like these are always important not only for the support team but for all attendees, it allows us to practice and sharpen skills that are often left untouched, nevertheless this drive had everything from paced dunes to problem solving recoveries, I hope for everyone involved learned something new about different terrain landscapes and how we can repair pop-outs alongside torn tires. @Imteeaz Great seeing you again mate, thanks for the amazing support. @Mahesh_ @Andrew John Melvill @RiadJL it was great catching up with everyone I hope to see you on the next one.
