Dear Desrtnauts. Tomorrow's drive will be a relaxing drive through the northern Emirates countryside. The most likely element of difficulty may come from the duration of the drive, which plans to cover around 80 Km. We'll follow locals' sand tracks, especially at the beginning of the drive, limiting our time to actually undriven sand, as I am expecting a lot of vegetation to make this venturing away from tracks somewhat complex. We'll eventually reach an area characterized by beautiful longitudinal dunes (we'll talk about them once on the spot), alternated by beautiful sabkhas, with an amazing savannah-like vegetation. Finally, once out of the sandy area, before reaching the boundary between red sands and black mountains, we'll re-inflate and start the dirt and rock tracks all the way to Masafi. The convoy order will be a mix of experienced drivers leading each Newbie, with the Support Team members equally spread throughout the drivers: @J-P L in Second Lead @Emanuel at #3 @AHSANAWAN 123 at #4 @Steve Farmer at #5 @Danie at #6 @JC_E at #7 @Aser at #8 @Ana at #9 @Nathan at #10 @khurram at #11 @Mike M. at #12 @Abhilash Kottakkal at #13 @Kirill K at #14 @Sandeep N at #15 and @Andrew John Melvill in Sweep. Dear Desert Wanderers, @Shary, @Myrko, @Yurybel, @JAISROCK, @Zulfikhar Naiyar, @Mei ling, @Frans M and @JC_E, thank you all for being on time this morning and your patience as we waiting for mother nature to do her thing and lift the blanket of fog that cover Qudra desert. Once we finally got going we had a variety of all aspects of desert driving, we had some up and overs, some ridge cross overs and some ridge riding. we were able to do this given the height and composition of the dunes. We also encountered some damp top sand and dry sand underneath, this meant that the top surface was slippery and that once pushed aside we encountered so soft in place and hard in other places sand. this made for tricky conditions but each and every one of you handled this like masters. we had zero stucks and only a handful of refusals, so well done to you all impressive to say the least. a big thank you to the two club members who stepped up today as second lead and sweep, @Frans M and @Zulfikhar Naiyar, you bothed played blinders today making my job so much easier so thank you both very much I hope you all enjoyed the drive as much as I did and that you have a peaceful and relaxing rest of your weekend A short relive video of todays adventures in teh link below and I added the pictures to the gallery. https://www.relive.com/view/v36AV954oGq Thanks and see you all again very soon in the sand
