With the help of our Support @Mark B and @Mike M. we are aiming for a smooth drive across Dubai and Abu-Dhabi. You can consider this drive to be a bit more scenic, and not a dune bashing style of drive. A few pointers: 1. Please arrive on time, preferably around 05.45AM so you have to deflate and set up the flag. Briefing will start on 06AM. 2. We will be using Channel 4: 446.081Mhz. I too was in a dilemma to switch to 265/70/R17 or 265/65/R17. The 70 tyres do rub the plastic cladding on the behind when turned full and the car is on incline. I have changed by front bumper so there will be no rubbing at the front. I went to two garages. One went the whole hog; remove the plastic bits and also do a chop job behind the plastic cladding. Another workshop recommended removing the plastic cladding alone and it should suffice. Both said once the car is lifted, all of these issues will be sorted. I chose to go with 65 but from an aesthetic point of view, 70s looks much cooler as it fills the wheel well. 65s are made in Japan and they do not have the white decals. They are black on both sides. Since its a recommended size by Toyota, its more widely available. 70s are made in Thailand. They have white decals on one side and slightly harder to source compared to 65s

if you have the pro version of gaia, and preset your map layers, you can get it to display on android auto. (not sure about car play). gives me option to record and display terrain on the main console.. however once an hour or so whilst recording it occasionaly just crashes..... using gaia on the phone tho had no issues with recording rendering maps... unless having phone up near window in summer and the phone overheating and turning off...😅

Seems a very good and solid mount especially for larger devices. My challenge with this setup would be what to do with the pole that is standing up when not in use. This is my daily driver....unless it can be used for pole dancing then it is something to consider

Every offroad convoy has to follow these rules to keep moving the whole convoy safely at all times: Follow the car in front of you all the time. And also follow the path taken by that car (STRICTLY), until you learn to lead. As an occasional exception, if you see the car in front of you struggled or churn up the path, it is advisable to drive little left or right and then follow the same path again. Keep 5-10 cars distance all the time. Keeping it too close you will risk an accident and keeping it too long, you will lose the path. If you cannot see the car behind you, please stop and notify on the radio so that the leader can stop until they all catch up. Stick to your convoy numbering at all times, if changed due to some situation fall back to the same order as soon as you can but safely. If convoy is not moving due to some stuck / refusal, please be patient and stay safe at your designated position. No playing, side sloping or any breaking the convoy activities will not be tolerated. Radio communication is PRIME, listen and respond to it promptly all the time. Convoy positions Leader: The first car who leads the drive and everyone has to follow the leader instructions precisely with respect. Second lead: The second car in a convoy, who drives behind the leader and avoid or fix any unforeseen situation as it may happen. Everyone in the convoy needs to follow the "second lead" path like a magnet - at all times. Sweep: One or two cars at end of the convoy to help and recover stuck vehicles or advise the correct path after the refusal. Flying Sweep: This car can be anywhere to do the sweep duties of recovering stuck vehicle or coordinating the convoy movement.
