We’re introducing a new "Drive & Trek" concept that combines relaxed off-roading with light trekking for us and simple games for the kids. With the winter weather finally here, it’s a good chance to step out of the car, stretch our legs, and let our families enjoy the outdoors with a bit of fitness and exploration. We will start with an easy-level drive toward Lisaili dunes, enjoying the cool weather with scenic dunes. Once there on top, we will park up and spend roughly half of the drive time on foot with: A short trek up the dunes for those who want a bit of adventure. Simple, kid-friendly games like football, tag, frisbee, or tug of war. Family Photo “viewpoint challenge” for the best family picture from the top. Bring your energy, your family (kids of all ages), a football or frisbee if you have one, and let us make the most of the winter season in the dunes together. We request every member who joins this drive to go through the information below and strictly follow these guidelines, etiquette, and responsibilities. UPDATE 20251124: The Tuesday Coffee Plan! We will heading south east along the sabkha and trails to get into the desert proper before zig zagging back north west to drive on the outer edge of the dune field. On the edge here and heading westwards the dunes are very long range so we can enjoy cruising along the large long dunes and switching between them at a moderate pace. As we start heading more to the north, we will have a change in terrain and a chance to race along the super flat vegetation free sabkha areas in the dark before making a u-turn and heading back towards the foxes dens via the dune field. Once arriving there, we will put out the chairs, brew up some coffee, and chill for half an hour before taking a high speed trip to the exit via the 'Highway to Home' path linking a number of sabkhas together. cc: @JC_E @Alexanderrr @Ahmed Farouk @Ash S. @ChrisW

DRIVE DESCRIPTION The legendary Empty Quarter LIWA is a destination whose beauty is nothing short of awe-inspiring. Stretching across the world’s largest uninterrupted desert, it is a place of immense scale and silence. The off-road trails are demanding, yet they reward you with views that are truly spectacular. Every dune and every moment challenge both you and your vehicle, pushing you beyond your limits and gifting you memories that last forever. This will be an exploration drive one that embraces adventure, resilience, and the raw beauty of the desert. But the Empty Quarter is not to be taken lightly. Driving in this vast expanse requires respect, preparation, and courage. DRIVE PREPARATION: Your car should be in 100% pristine working condition, so double or triple-check everything. Full-size spare tire with a lug wrench to match your wheel nut size and it's depth For aftermarket rims - Your lug wrench also needs to match the wheel nut depth. As it's a long, full-day drive, catch up on enough sleep beforehand. 5-10 liters of water per person. Snacks and Lunch for yourself and your passenger, if any, Keep your car as light as possible by packing what is truly essential. Thanks all for joining! I think we had a pretty good run with a superb convoy yesterday. We notice quite a bit of cross-tracks in the beginning, which was a reminder that the Dubai Baja Challenge was ongoing in this area the day before. After @Mike M. took over the lead, he gave us a bit of Baja run taste, which kept us all on our toes, while heading into the area we call "Little Sweihan". Unfortunately that's also when my car decided to "pop a hose" belonging to the clutch pedal hydraulics. We headed to the sabkha and i exited, while Mike continued with the convoy. In that area as well the Dubai Baja was ongoing, so Mike had to reroute a bit. Like Muhammad Ali once said "Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face" Some days are like that, and on those days i am so glad to be able to rely on such a fantastic family of offroaders. We genuinely never walk alone. See you all in the sands soon again!

On the way we might stop by the sweihan pond and take a break, before continuing on to some of the rock formations. Goal will be to practise smooth fast lines through the dune cordons. See you there! We kicked off right on time after our briefing at the ADNOC station, with everyone geared up and ready for a solid morning in the sand. The first set of dunes greeted us with heavy tracking, courtesy of the Tilal Drag competition, which had clearly seen a lot of action. We looped around this entire section, weaving through the vegetation and working our way into a good rhythm. 👍 Once clear of the tracked zone, the terrain opened up beautifully. We transitioned into faster-flowing dunes and clean sabkhas, letting the convoy stretch out and enjoy some smooth, confident driving. Soon after, we entered the large technical zone of Al Fayah — a maze of sharp ridges, bowls, and narrow crossings. The team handled it exceptionally well as we carefully picked the best route through this demanding area, maintaining control and strong convoy discipline throughout. Continuing south, we crossed a mix of sabkhas and small forest 😜 patches until we eventually found the gate leading into the desert safari zone. This is where the pace lifted again — high-speed sidies, sweeping climbs, and playful sections that had everyone smiling. We wrapped up at the exit after a truly exhilarating run. Incredible driving all around — smooth, coordinated, and confidently executed. A big thank-you to the support team for the quick recoveries and keeping us moving whenever we stopped.
