Let's aim to arrive by 06.30 and rolling by 06.45 latest. The only caveat to that is I am expecting bad fog tomorrow morning - if that's the case, do allow some extra time, but also no need to rush and taking any risks on the roads. Basically do your best but if the fog is bad, no problem, we'll wait and move together. We will stick with Luke's plan, so meeting north of the Tilal roundabout (Meeting Point: https://maps.app.goo.gl/YyPjtjPMbgUie3YVA, Meeting Co-ords: 24.440754, 55.193496), and then we'll track a short distance north to clear the farms and initially sweep to the east to discover what that section of terrain is like. We'll then use a farm track to move back to the west, and repeat a sweep heading east in the area further to the north. It may be good, it may be terrible - either way we'll put our skills to the test together and either find a new area for the club to play in, or mark another area of the map as being only for the brave! We'll aim to finish by around 09.30 (so approx three hours of driving or so). Looking forward to seeing you all in the morning! Any problems, I am on: Zero Five Zero, 565, 90, Two Seven.     Trip Report Before the sun had fully risen above the horizon, two convoys set off into the Sweihan dunes for our Rise & Shine adventure. Over the course of approximately 46 km and 2.5 hours, we enjoyed flowing terrain, technical sections, bowls, and countless beautiful sunrise views as the desert gradually came to life around us. A particular highlight was reaching and regrouping at Ghafftein Bowl, where both convoys successfully met up exactly as planned. Seeing the two groups come together in the middle of the desert was a great moment and proof that the plan worked perfectly. A special mention to @Noufal, who unfortunately had to leave us early. It was great to see you out in the desert again, and I hope everything is well on your side. To everyone who joined: you drove exceptionally well. The convoy flowed smoothly throughout the morning, with excellent discipline, communication, and teamwork. It was a pleasure to drive with you all. My thanks also go to @_luke_ for providing a rock-solid second lead, @Diego for keeping an attentive eye on the rear as sweep, and @Emanuel for expertly leading the second convoy with @Looper's support. Having two groups working together so seamlessly made the morning even more enjoyable. With over 1,500 m of cumulative climbing and descending through the dunes, plenty of bowl action, and a memorable sunrise over Sweihan, this was excellent. Most importantly for me it also marked the beginning of my journey leading drives at Expert level with Carnity. I couldn't have asked for a better group to share that milestone with. Little bit of trivia...between the two convoys there were 10 vehicles and over 1,000 combined Carnity drives worth of experience!     POST DRIVE REPORT A big thank you to everyone for being on time despite the construction delays on E311 northbound before the E66 exit, which affected some members of the convoy. As planned, we set off shortly after the briefing, which was co-hosted by our newest Advisor and Lead-in-Training, @Frans M. Thank you, Frans, for the fantastic support as Centre Forward, helping manage one stuck and a few refusals throughout the drive. A special thanks as well to @JC_E for taking the Second Lead position and for assisting with the recovery of the Toyota Prado. Your support was greatly appreciated, as was the excellent spacing you maintained behind the lead vehicle, which allowed flexibility when making route adjustments. Thank you to @Mei Ling for the excellent radio communication from the back of the convoy, keeping everyone informed and connected throughout the drive. As planned, we entered the beautiful Lisaili area and headed towards the patch of longitudinal dunes. It took us some time to reach the area as several very new drivers were still getting accustomed to driving on sand and learning the characteristics of their vehicles. However, it was encouraging to see noticeable improvements in both confidence and vehicle control as the drive progressed and we gradually introduced some slightly more challenging terrain. After a well-deserved break, we made our way back towards the exit point while continuing to enjoy the scenery that makes this part of the Dubai desert so special. A special congratulations to our newest club member, @Stephan Guglieri, on successfully completing his first drive with Carnity. Well done also to @Pierre-andre Nutteand @Nagarjun S. There were a few learning opportunities along the way, but all of you showed good progress and a positive attitude throughout the morning. I'm glad to hear that everyone enjoyed the stunning landscapes and unique character of this beautiful section of the Dubai desert. Our track together is below. A distance of 27 kms covered is good for a Newbie drive and we had some good elevation profiles, meaning we had some good NB level hill climbs and descents to practice with. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and I look forward to seeing you all on the sand again soon!

    hi Looper, My car is a Baic BJ40C, black colour, mounted K03 285/70/17 - 4H - 4L - diff lock front and back Experience: - good level in mud / rocks - extremely limited experience in soft sand. - 2 times out in the desert (Al Qudra), and still adapting to my new car. Quite a change, in my country I used rather to drive turbo-diesels, or more powerfull fuel models. I Confirm having read all and having all equipment mentionned. Let me know if needed more info.

The RSVP is now closed, looking forward to seeing you all in the morning! Some quick notes to get us organised: 1.) With the very kind support of Emanuel and Looper, we will split the convoy so we can run two small but perfectly formed groups across the sands. No racing or shenanigans planned, but we will run similar routes and aim to meet at the Ghafftein Bowl for 08:00 for a social break together. 2.) We will aim to be rolling by 06:45 - so please aim to have cars ready by 06.35 so we can do a quick brief and get rolling. 3.)     Thank you all for joining this morning! We had a pretty good run with hardly any stucks. The handful of small refusals were also easily dealt with thanks to the help of @Ishakand @Sam Selim! Fantastic second lead duties as well by @Sandeep Padhi!     Thank you all for joining ! For a Newbie drive we had an extremely smooth run and covered close to 40kms in just a bit over three hours. It was really nice to meet up with the Intermediate boys on the unscheduled breaktime! Good thing we didn't have to ride any ridges because there weren't any left @_luke_ and gang!     Good afternoon everyone! @Shary @MikeT@Mark J@Amr mostafa@Hakan@Looper@Sergio del Rio@MarkH@Rasna@Sheho@Hartzel@Thomas54675 Thanks for signing up to this drive. Some small pointers for tomorrow: 1. Please try to arrive 10-15mins before the meeting time. This will give you time to deflate, set up your flag, and perhaps sip your cup of coffee 2. You can deflate to 14psi if you have normal HT tires, or to 12psi if you have All Terrain tires 3. We will use Channel 10 on the Walkie Talkie: 446.231Mhz. We will test the radios and also bring a couple of spares in case this would be your first drive and don't have procured a radio yet. The plan is from the starting point to go Eastwards and visit the famous Foxes' Den, a favorite stopover where we might spot some foxes (at least their burrows). From there we will continue further and exit at the ADNOC in Tilal Sweihan. See you all in the morning. If you encounter issues with the Google Maps, link, you can also copy/paste the decimal coordinates in your Google Maps.

Please check your cars over today before the drive and bring plenty of fluids for yourselves and any passengers. There may be a bit of shoveling so need to stay hydrated. The plan is to hit two different technical dune cordons with a break in the middle at Cresent Moon Lake. The convoy list is as follows: See you all tomorrow for a briefing at 06h30, please ensure that your tires are deflated and flags up before then. We will be using CH 4 on the radios.

    It was great work @Lukas Wii - the biggest lesson, which comes from experience, is that staying calm, being patient and working at it for longer than you might imagine is key. I’m always super impressed with @Asif Hussain’s self-recoveries…looks like nothing is moving but slowly slowly the car pops free! @Piotr. Last night I tried out the Insta360 X6 for the first time. It has a specific mode suited to night shots and it seems to work great.

    Dear Team. Not much of a briefing is needed for tomorrow's Support Team/Advisors' drive. This will be the meeting and deflation point: https://maps.app.goo.gl/mJyZJRkjz1AjwfoX6 The drive should finish at sunset, just outside Sweihan. The idea is to either linger for a relaxing gathering, tea or coffee just before the exit track, or to reinflate and go to a local cafè for a chat. All are welcome, but of course everyone is free to head home after the drive. The convoy's line up will be spontaneous, and will be decided just before starting the drive. Nonetheless, I have thought of assigning 3 positions, based on rank and highest number of drives completed, which will be the following: @JeromeFJ, @Vanessa8580 / @Frederic and @J-P L who will choose to take either Second Lead, Center and Sweep, as they'll see fit (including the possibility of rotating in these positions). Looking forward to seeing @Emanuel, @Sam Selim, @Ishak, @ChrisW, @Giacomo, @Imran Asghar, @Mahesh_, @Jose Luis Campos, @Frans M, and hopefully @DP1011, @Andrei S and @Diego.

    DRIVE SUMMARY We came early, and we came ready. From the start, we were spotting everything — every promising line, every crest, every ridge worth taking. By the end of the drive, it felt like every ridgeline had been marked. There was a little bit of shovelling along the way ,😅 just enough to keep things honest, but mostly it was a morning of good lines, good driving and plenty of laughs. A bit of digging.     Thanks all for joining today and for being on time. The drive lived up to the reputation of GoTech drives of the past. With many refusals and stucks, all met with teamwork and smiles. Part one was tough with lots of close unstructued dunes and many tight bowls. After around 90 min we stopped for a very necessary break at crescent moon lake. Was good to catch up with everyone and partake of the snack Luke brought along. Part 2 was the highlight for me with clean white sand and once we were through the 1st very tight section it opened up for some lovely ridge runs allowing the drive to flow. At 09h30 we turned towards the track to be treated to a large herd of Oryx, before we headed towards the exit. A special note to @Raptor Runner - Praveen who was on his 1st FB drive, great handling of your truck! The entire convoy drove very well handled the technical terrain very well. Lastly could not have done it without the amazing support from @_luke_, @Vanessa8580, @Looper and @J-P L Till next time

    Thanks everyone, I really enjoyed today! It was quite a simple drive plan today, but we got our fill of climbs, bowls, loops, technical, ridges and switches. Special thanks to @J-P L and @Deepak Eswar for the support and @khurramm in 2nd lead. The big trucks of @Khalid Sharaf and @Jerome gave a good soundtrack to the drive especially while dominating Iftar Bowl. @Ana and @Shary drove briliantly especially during the deep bowl recovery. The route today We also completed the 3rd volume in the short sharp series completing the middle portion of the route.

    We kicked off beside the truck road with a quick briefing on the plan for the night. @Asif Hussain, @ChrisW and @Giacomo added a few extra pointers on how to enjoy — and stay safe on — a Fewbie-level night drive. The most important takeaway: “If you see something scary, just turn off your lights.” 😂 With that valuable safety advice firmly understood, we headed into the technical zone for a few loops to warm everyone up and get comfortable driving in the dark. From there we moved into some larger terrain. We had a couple of refusals along the way, but unfortunately for @Sebastian Nohse, Giacomo and Chris, nobody managed to get stuck badly enough for them to break out their winches. As the drive progressed, I felt we found a really nice flowing Fewbie pace for nighttime. Rather than attacking the bigger climbs, we worked our way gradually higher — taking small steps, reading the dunes and picking a route through without needing any huge commitments. It made for a smooth and enjoyable drive, with plenty of time on the ridges and a good rhythm through the convoy. After 150 minutes of driving, it was time for the Coffee Club part of the evening. We pulled up, got the chairs out and sat around the light, enjoying the sight of a deep red moon hanging low over the desert. And Sebastian raised the Coffee Club standards considerably by producing actual espresso in the middle of the desert. ☕ A definite treat and a pretty perfect way to finish the night. @Lukas Wii I hope you enjoyed your first night drive, and we see you in some more. @Piotr. nice work convincing him to join and experience the dark side of desert driving. Good driving, good flow, good coffee and good company. 🌙☕🏜️

    Everyone arrived early, and after a quick look at the new fencing, we decided to make a dash through and go hunting for the dunes. The opening section had plenty of vegetation to work around, but we still managed to pick out some nice high lines and keep the convoy moving. The further we pushed in, the cleaner the terrain became, and before long the dunes really opened up — flow after flow after flow. With a small convoy, we could move quickly and keep the lines loose. There were some big sidies in the dark, with the V8s roaring across the dunes and plenty of momentum being carried from one section to the next. We eventually finished up at the double bowl, where we pulled some seriously big lines. The sand there was unbelievably soft, and even the V8s were starting to struggle for traction. From there, it was engines off, coffee out, and a bit of stargazing to finish the night. Small convoy. Fast movement. Loose lines. Loved it! @Sebastian Nohse @Giacomo looking forward to seeing any pics or videos you might have captured... see you on the next drive!
