  1. Looks like another worthy garage gone the greed way than the professional way. Quite surprise to hear Roverover and JMC opinion. Thanks guys, for the tips. Cheers.
  2. P38 has this common tappet noise since the day its there. Older the vehicle with hi mileage it gets louder that ticking becomes like spoon hitting the marble noise. Its normal as far as its not outrageously loud and not increasing while hitting the gas.
  3. Gulf star, Al Noor, National Auto in Sharjah can help you. All contacts are listed on front page under Business Listing section.
  4. 2010 and recall, thats sad. Is it produced after company moved to India....? Is Indian car market wanna compete with American cars in problems and build quality. Where is German and UK car manufacturer now.........!
  5. Original one last for 4-5 years easy, but aftermarket ones max 1 - 2 years. Thats my experience.
  6. Thats more sensible if you can DIY, have you checked with X-Launch scanner if they have some ABS range. You can buy X for cheap from Alico in Shj industrial area than thru Internet.
  7. I heard a while while back that you can get your ABS modulator repaired too, from where- i dont know but surely give it a try before buying new one. Or else you can also buy refurbished one from ebay.
  8. Thats a very good thought. We should def arrange a good charity drive. Just curious how it will raise money? Or is it just awareness drive???
  9. There are so many reasons to have check engine light. Some are serious like weak cylinder pressure in any of the cylinders, some are minor like plugs, ht leads etc. Better to get computer test done and that will read the exact fault code to pin point you in right direction. If there is no error code, ask them to clear this fault and you check if it happen again. Sometime loosely close fuel cap at petrol station can cause this to have check engine light too.
  10. Go for King shocks if you can afford one. They are very good and one of the best shocks. Also you can consider Ranchos. Stay away from rough country, and koni. Not sure about Old Man.
  11. Dont forget to carry enough water for evry small and big drive u go. Its most important part of any offroad drive.
  12. Pictures speak thousand word my friend. Is it V8? Add some pictures for fast sale, and good luck with ur sale.
  13. If i am not wrong after every 40k agency guys changes the water pump even if there is no complaint in a way to protect engine if it break down during the period.
  14. Wrong forum to ask mate. I will vote for LR only.
  15. 2 Inches is good enough, more than that also involve risk in driving and also need adjustment in some aerodynamic issue for road, steering stabilizer for sure, lowering up the transfer case so thatr geomatery aligns well etc.
  16. It depends on what mods you are looking. Safety: Winch, skid plate, Bash Plate Night drives: Extra lights, spot and beams. Offroad: Lift kit, bigger tires, steering stabilizer etc Engine: Unichip and re tuning, Air filter, Iridium spark plugs, headrs & exhaust (not recommended for shj now).
  17. I second with Sohail on this. This is DJ Cruiser may be, not defender. Present defender is much better and show its legacy look and feel and not confused looks like this one.
  18. Hey walther, welcome back. Sad to see this happening in deserted land, glad you found someone in salalah and came back home in good shape. Now i understand that why my freind carried extra radiator in his defender as he was doubting his old rusty radiator to fail.
  19. Good luck, bro As head gasket and broken cam job isnt normal thing. Have some patience and hang in there. Have patience and hope all your woes end soon. May your LR get well soon.
  20. These type of cracks would take atleast few days i assume around 5 -7 days or more. Rest Ruth can tell more precisely. Hope he is still around and have subscribed to this thread.
