  1. Why would you want to crust them, baking a dune pie?
  2. No you cannot drive a manual car with an auto license. If it were the case why would they bother having two separate licenses! Common sense mate. And it's a 500dhs fine from what I can remember.

Might as well get a Nissan van. I know I wouldn't want to be lugging around friends and family in an Innova and look like an airport cab driver while at it. There is a reason luxury SUVs exist
  4. The old P38 is a bad comparison. Tech was new then and more than hardware the software was the issue. And that is what really gave Range Rover s a bad reputation of unreliability. Now even sedans are riding on air and air susp tech has come a long way since then. I have friends who haven't changed their bags since 2002. Still riding on the original bags the car came with from factory.
  5. That's the thing if you have decent skills what car really doesnt make too much of a difference. Only cars which I saw were totally shit off road were those full-size crossover type vehicle. Smaller like Rav 4 are also cool but lack of low range is their Achilles's heel I would totally rock a V8 Pathfinder. People made fun of me and said my old heavy discovery 1 wouldn't make it 500 mtrs but I went everywhere with it, even dropped some jaws along the way. Including some self proclaimed off road master experts like Wrangler is Wrangler sir ji. If you know who I mean lol
  6. Really don't need a bash plates if you drive sensibly in the dunes For rocks and mountains its worth it. Never had one on any car I've had infact the plastic cover that came with the Land Cruiser we would take out. Kept the sand from getting stuck in there and if you had an oil leak it would just turn into oily sand crud. You'd be surprised at how many kilos of sand some people are carrying around in their bash plates and covers. Because everything we had to take one off to do an oil change a small dune would fall out from under the car. Which also another thing in sone cars it becomes a PITA to do simple things like an oil change because of the bash plates in the way
  7. I've seen coil springs break too. So nothing is fool proof. And nowadays it's not that expensive. You can have a side rebagged for 500dhs with 3 months warranty. Or a totally new strut for around a 1000.
  8. I recently saw a very nicely modified olpost 05 Pathfinder in Muhaisana. Got a 4 inch lift bash plates. And looked liked it had gone on a few serious drives. Was just thinking if it had that 310hp V8 in it. It would be a nice ride Anyone who has driven a Titan or Armada even on road know they are pretty quick. Under 7 second 0-100 for such big beasts imagine that in a smaller and lighter package.
  9. And how many issues with your new Range Rover EAS ? And how many cars with air suspension have you owned and driven? A new air spring is not that expensive anymore. And having variable height is a big plus in an off road car. Plus for old farts who are afraid of advancement there is also the option for regular could springs and even steel wheels from the factory
  10. Well if you really want something with some oomph look for the 2008 Pathfinder. Some of them had the 310hp V8 in them you can find in the Armada and Titan
  11. Would be the same as your Suzuki issue. The FJC was never sold in these places. But the LC was, so more chances of sourcing locally available parts rather than to have to wait for something to arrive from overseas. Although you wouldn't do too bad with the FJC than with an X Terra because underneath the FJC its just a Prado with a different body shell on top. Which makes me think why not just get a Prado over an FJC. More room for passengers and cargo, better visibility all around. Can sleep in the car on camping trips etc etc.

You can't have your cake and eat it too. You gotta compromise in some department. For looks luxury features and street cred nothing beats a range Rover maybe perhaps the new Rolls Royce Cullinan. Resale and realibilty can only be found in the Japanese section. But Toyota/Lexus and Nissan/Infiniti have all gone super ugly and features are meh at best and not so luxurious either. And since they have good resale stupidly priced 2nd hand German SUVs not good looking. The new X7 looks like a mini van. Q7, Touareg and Cayenne all the same car with different tweaks and Germans spoil all their cars trying to make then more sporty .
  13. Well I'm sorry if you think a Land Cruiser isn't good enough for more than just newbies. I'm sticking to my opinion. I would recommend a Land Cruiser to anyone other than someone who's specific goal was just to do very extreme desert drives.
  14. Well you have to understand everybody's idea of going to the desert is not just climbing to the top of faya and big red. When you hear the word off road you tunnel vision yourself into thinking bashing dunes and climbing tel morab is the only type of off roading or even desert driving there is. The person clearly mentions some normal desert driving with an emphasis on exploration and overlanding. And nothing better ticks all those boxes than a full size SUV like a 100 series.
  15. Well if you want to overland it. Your best bet would be to get your self a 100 series Land Cruiser. The Xterra and FJC were never launched in Africa, Asia or Europe. If you ever have a breakdown or need some bits out there, good luck finding and parts out in these places for an Xterra or FJC. It would actually be preferable to get a diesel engine LC 100 but those aren't available here. And for that budget you can get a pretty decent 100 series plus have money left over to mod jt.
  16. Traditionally. Just before and begining of Summer vacations. As many people sell off their cars they want to get rid of before they go and usually get a new ride before the start of the new school year. And worst time to buy a 4x4 is at the start of the winter season here i.e now. But due to the slowdown for the last couple of years it's been a buyers market and more and more people leaving or sending families home. More cars for sale than buyers these day. But the above mentioned factors still do come in play
  17. Yeah same here. Wants me 5o download someshit Seems like a phishing or malware link.
  18. Troopers are bad ass man. Only reason they stopped is they didn't go soft and kept their bad assery by not giving up on their body on frame and solid axel game and finally succumbed to the mall crawlers which had better road manners.
  19. An Isuzu Trooper is actually a much better and highly under ratted off roader. Solid Axels with factory fitted Dana diifs
  20. Shj does it do. Have a buddy who has his RHD 1940's Land Rover registered in Shj with Classic plates. In fact Shj has been doing Classics for a while now and surprisingly it's much better than Dubai which has very strict criteria and rules for Classic like you can only drive a certain number of kms a year. It doesn't care how old the car is it has to be made before a certain date. Your car could be X many years old but if it was made after that date it will never be considered a classic
  21. I dunno I have a feeling even if you can sort it out it won't stand the stress and snap after a while. Because a flag is wobbly off-road and creating stress in all directions for the entire time. Anyways worth a shot. Take the car and the flag and car to machine shop and tell them what you are looking to do. The can check the size and type of thread on both ends and fabricate you something.
