  1. 100% with you on this one. Pranks are immature and infantile
  2. Change it, it's expensive I know around 120dhs per liter. And you'll need around 4liters for all four. It's cheap insurance. Oil is cheap, diffs, xcases, engines, transmissions are not. It's old, heat, oxidization, metal filings have probably broken it down and contaminated it by now. And if you don't drive it often or long enough regularly you probably have moisture build up too. But don't do it just to keep the service history.
  3. A buddy of mine is thinking of getting one, already called dibbs on a ride.
  4. Hahahaha.....shit that doesn't even look real! If I didnt know better I would have said its photo shopped ! Imagine pulling up to one at a traffic light here in Dubai and the guys reaction!
  5. Bigger question is why are going to the dealer for service for an out of warranty car in the first place? Hit a jackpot recently we don't know about?
  6. Thats exactly what I've done because the steering column lock has failed and only way to fix it is to replace the entire steering column! It won't send a signal to the ECU that will let the ignition run, but if you disconnect power or remove and install the fuse it gives you one start until you pull out the key again. So I had a 1-10 dhs shop bought 12v working light with a long enough wire and on off switch lying around, so pulled out the fuse, plonked in a couple of spade connectors, spliced in an external fuse holder which I bought for 10 dhs many moons ago and was lying the cubby box doing nothing. Ran the wire till the shifter.and double side taped the on off switch on the trans tunnel. Its pretty small and inconspicuous. So every time I switch off the car I just do the on off and leave so next time I get in, it starts right away and the on off thing has become second nature now.
  7. Definitely a problem I have never faced or even knew existed.
  8. You forgot the most and all important shabab signal, a quick left and right indicator. Meaning . It's ON, come get some! And a second most important and my favourite hand signal when someone flashes you, not not flipping the bird but a hand motion, come go over me if you can. This usually quiets down most people or they try to undertake you but a nasty one eyebrow lifted look usually kills all their enthusiasm for an altercation or any road rage that was brewing inside them
  9. Well a leper really wouldn't be worried about catching leprosy since he already got it 😊
  10. Word, thats what makes the Samurai the samurai/jimny. A proper body on a ladder frame chassis with a low range transfer case in a fun pack size
  11. Totally lovin the pickup version! Looks like a mini me version of my favourite 4x4 The other one just aint doin' it for me
  12. Well ironically the "new" Toyota Rush SUV is just a rebadged Daihatsu Terios
  13. Hey my 1996 Range Rover would tell you if one of the 4 blend motors was out of whack. Which they usually were!
  14. For a second there I thought the title read Lutherans, was gonna say yeah plenty of them around.
  15. TBH that didn't even cross my mind. And most of the garages Ive ever used never had more than 5-7 people max. Hell in my garage I had only 4 people. And it was a decent sized outfit with a couple of lifts, paint booth etc etc.
  16. Huh? I was just commenting its not always well most cases viable to order big heavy parts online. Unless you are made of money. What do 10 Bengalis have to do with this? Lol
  17. Sorry mate, nothing of the sort in RAK. Only three cars here, Lexus LS400/430 or Land Cruiser or Patrols. For farmhouse errands everyone prefers the Bu Shanab or Hilux and for obvious reasons. I know everyone thinks very highly of the car they have are and very biased towards it but Rav4 was manufactured as a soft roader, doesn't mean it can't bash some dunes but so can any car with a 4x4 system. I've seen VW 4x4 vans do that also. Although old timers here will remember our lady red Rav4 driver Fayette, she drove well with her rav4 but that didn't stop her from getting stuck eveynow and then because of it
  18. Yeah that works for smaller bits and bobs and myself I've gotten many such, last time I got carbon brushes for my blower motor for just 2 quid after searching sharjah and dubai, everyone wanted me to buy new or used blower motors but getting big and heavy stuff like disc rotors, calipers, radiators etc etc is not cost effective at all, Specially when the car itself is not worth more than 10-12k itself. Shop and Ship only saves you so much. Unless you are too rich and partially mental, like this guy I knew who sent his entire transmission to be rebuilt to the UK and back, didn't even ask the shop the one locally in the UK and send it to him and it was for a Discovery 1 series. Car itself was worth less than this entire exercise.
  19. Thread is about the Isuzu trooper thats what I was talking about. Ofcourse the whole world knows the galloper was literally an older rebadged Pajero because from what I remember Hyundai basically bought all the tooling for the older pajeros and even the motor was basically a mistsu
  20. It is a pretty solid off roader, running big dyna 44s I think and no its not based on the pajero. P.S : Also a Paris Dakkar winner, so that makes it kick ass in some peoples views
  21. Hell I had a German buddy who not only ripped out his 3rd row seats but also his second row.
  22. And losing your shit on an internet forum is also a sign of blowing your head gasket! LOOOL
