  1. There are many other factors too, other than just compression. You could have a stretched timing chains and/or worn sprockets. Worn cam lobes. All messing with the timing and making it lose power. But I agree with the spark plug bit. I hat the bosch four prong titaniums in my 2000 manual LC and it went places others struggled and who ever drove it would always ask me if I have done any mods like headers or exhaust on the cruiser
  2. The LC100seies does just fine without spacers even with a lift, leave it alone. Take it from a guy who earned his livelihood bashing it in the desert from the time when you were still in your diapers
  3. An older model 100series LC is worth less than doing a complete engine rebuild. Until such a time
  4. Yes go ahead and change the shocks! ( insert facepalm emoji here )
  5. Its a CVT transmission doesnt have clutches. Total different beast than the traditional auto trans
  6. I disagree, toyota is making nothing but over priced junk now for a long timr. The Koreans have come a long way in quality and reliability. And look a milliom times better than yotas
  7. You can deflate your tyres at home also, why would you need to go any shop? And yes the shops there have compressors.
  8. Why would a shop deflate air for you!!!!!
  9. Be 100% sure what transmission oil was used. These new mazdas have that fandangled skyactiv technoligy nonsense and require specific branded oils ( translation : Expensive). If its not the right fluid you could be soon looking at an expensive transmission job. I would flush the entire system and have it refilled again with the proper fluids. Just for that extra mental satisfaction. And yeah with that much money get your self a nice lexus LS or even an older LX. If you are going the jap crap route, might as well be stylish and comfy about it.
  10. Electric cars are being shoved down our throats whether we like it not. I truly believe they are not the way of the future. Its only being made to look that way becuase this really doesnt require thinking out of the box and of something new. Just improving a know technology. There is a little conspiracy theorist in me which believes the answer to clean, cheap and efficient energy is already out there. But its being forcefully being kept under wraps. Maybe to see electric cars fail on purpose? Look at the mega trillion dollar worldwide petrochemical industry. You think they will quietly die down into night without putting up a fight? I dont think so. Look at the world today and compare its tech advances to the world of a 100yrs ago. Even the wildest science fiction writers imagination xould not have thought of it a 100 years ago. And yet more than a 100yrs later we are basically stuck with the same design of a internal combustion engine. How is this even possible. Every field has progessed by leaps and bound but yet even the most decked out expensive car with every gizmo imaginable still has something from over a century ago as its heart.
  11. If its on export plate 99% this guy is a private dealer. How do I know, because I use to do the same thing. Buy car at low price and then just put it in export plates instead of taking a 1-1.5k chunk from future profit. Didnt work very well for too long. Then I actially started to register the cars as it was a more believable story and made the buyers less suspicious.
  12. Well a jammed compressor is a different story altogether. And overhaul is different and cheaper than a complete replacement of the entire system. And Ive seen this before also, usually because of cheap chinese gas which was hitting the market and one time. Jamming compressors left and right.
  13. In all the time Ive been in and around cars. Ive never seen or have had to change the entire cooling system of a car, to me thats simply unheard of. Even on 15 yr old US imported wrecks or insurance written off cars Ive rebuilt over the years.
  14. Well S79 its clear the mechanic has no clue what hes doing. Hes just throwing parts at it at the expense of the owner hoping something will fix the issue ( eventually it will when you throw enough parts at it until the guy virtually has an entire new cooling system and a big hole in his wallet ) Hence go to someone who know their stuff, like Ampex. Like just two days ago I heard a very known reputable garage told this guy to renew his entire cooling system for 5000 plus labour then he went to ampex and got himself sorted for 450dhs. I myself have gone to ampex and they were very professional and very reasonable. Unfortunately they closed their deira branch and now operate only out of DIP
  15. Go to Ampex in DIP. They only do vehicle ACs and know their stuff and dont charge you an arm and a leg. Google for more info
  16. The Lexus LX is the flagship model and it came with all the bells and whistles. Not sure about US import 100s as they are kitted out pretty well too, almost to GCC LX specs.
  17. Fluffy has a huge collection of these. Should youtube it, if you are a fan.
  18. No, I just dont like to spoon feed people. I just give them enough to set them off in the right direction and do some research and looking up on their own. And not like thats too difficult these days. Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day.Teach him how to fish etc etc blah blah and all that jazz.
  19. If it is a GCC spec GXR 2000 100 series then its rwd. And for the rest ask any toyota parts dealer
  20. Go ask some Emarati kid how to do "race brake" the clue is in the name
  21. If you had a broken axel the car wouldn't be moving at all. As the power takes the path of least resistance and all power in 2wd mode would be going to the broken axel and you would be going no where. If the car is doing the classic one wheel peel then the LSD clutches have gone pear shaped and need to be replaced and the diff need to be refilled with LSD diff oil
  22. Nope your version of the LC100 does not have TC.
  23. This isn't the UK. You can get into some real serious shit if you do and recently whoever lends his car to an unlicensed driver too. I can't believe you would condone something like this over here in a public forum.
  24. You need one to get there and back
