Kayak rentals are priced for all-day rentals, so you can explore every nook and corner of the lake. This area is a Mountain Conservation Reserve. It offers serene landscapes and picture-perfect scenery and is hardly an hour and a half’s drive from Dubai. Many wealthy people made Hatta their summer home. You can get floating donuts and tandem-bike boats which look like something built for a Top Gear special. Various pools have formed around the reservoir. You can drive right up to these places if you have an SUV, to get some nice pictures and take a dip. Check out the Hatta Fort Hotel, which was designed with a retro-theme by Ajai Saran. This was renovated in 2017. This is a popular spot for many roads and offroad enthusiast to lay over or start their drives. Nearby is the Hatta Heritage Village where you can get a look at traditional UAE in one of the oldest Arab villages in the emirate. In the village, you can go to the two 18th century watchtowers, Bait Al Wali, and the Juma mosque (Mosque for Friday Prayer). A palm tree farm is located nearby in the Al Sharia site. Here you can witness the historical underground irrigation systems called the falaj. Falaj was how Emiratis survived in this area and farmed vegetables and grains for their sustenance. You can always ask the locals or other travellers for instructions. The scenic route from the hotel up to the dam is littered with overlooks where you can park and hike to the less-photographed regions of the mountain. The dam only fills up after heavy rain. In the summer you can drive right up to the wall and watch the scenery from the vantage point. An SUV will be better for this. Many people drive around the dam and take pictures near the water. Some people just drive around to the Omani border, because this place offers a good opportunity to drive off-road. Timing Kayak timings are from 8:00 am to 6:30 pm. Early morning is the best time to go for a hike since it is cooler and the air has more moisture. This way you’ll also avoid the crowds of tourists that visit this place year-round. Prices For boating activities, a single kayak or single water bike costs AED 60 for a day. If you want a guided tour of the lake, it costs AED 600 to rent a tour boat for 11 people for 25 minutes. If you take a Hatta tour, the cheapest is for AED 165, going up to AED 475 for full-day tours. An adventure tour can cost you AED 510. Precautions It is important to note that swimming is not allowed in the Hatta lake. If you go after the rains, be prepared to do some mud-plugging, and make sure you have a 4WD SUV with an experienced driver. Otherwise, the road to the dam is paved, but off-road offers the best sights and experiences, and you can easily reach the less crowded parts of the lake.

Jebel Hafeet is a great place to visit for petrol-heads. Many residents purely go to Jebel Hafeet for driving fun on the mountain roads and I am among one of them since 2002. Every car I had, I have been to Jebel Hafeet road to test it's climbing, speed and cornering capability - it's pure fun driving up in the winding mountain with a breathtaking view at every fold. This beautiful mountain road was built in 1980, by rich residents who wanted to enjoy their Lancias and Lagondas, a few decades before the inception of the Autodrome in Dubai. It is 11.7km long and has 60 corners - switchbacks and hairpins connected by sweeping straights. Two lanes go up the mountain, while one goes down. There are steep drops on each side, scaring the unwitting driver and passengers. Lanes are well-marked and the surface is unblemished. Jebel Hafeet is the second tallest mountain in the UAE and has one of the greatest mountain driving roads in the world. To everyone surprise, this is the only mountain in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi in the region of Tawam. The name means ‘empty mountain’ - nothing grows here. You can see the folds of the earth from the top and the flat land of the rest of the Emirate. This is a desert environment which gets only 3 inches of rainfall a year. Cooler than Al Ain all-year, especially from October to March. The average Jebel Hafeet Temperature is in range of 30 degrees at the top. Jebel Hafeet is at an elevation of 1,249m. People come here to watch the sun setting over Al Ain, and to escape the heat. Jabal Hafeet is named after the Hafit period of the Bronze Age, because of the artifacts discovered nearby at the publicly open archaeological site. It offers many opportunities for tourists and is a very welcoming place. How to reach? You can reach Jebel Hafeet by driving to Al Ain, from where the highway stretches to this mountain. Get on the Dubai - Al Ain road, E66. It takes about two hours to get to the top of the mountain from Dubai. If you start your journey from Al Ain, it’ll take you 40 minutes to get there. Take Zayed bin Sultan street all the way up. The road is clean and well-paved, and you don’t need an SUV or 4x4 to reach there. Have a drink at the Mercure Jebel Hafeet hotel near the peak. The royal family’s palace is here as well. There are many adventures to be had at Jebel Hafeet. Numerous hiking trails offer plethora of photographic opportunities. Cyclists love riding up and down the mountain road. Several tunnels run under the mountain - this is a hotspot for geologists. There are various hot springs, and the river in the valley forms lakes and pools where you can relax. A good place for this is at the Al Mubazzarah, which also has chalets and a children’s play park. There is plenty of parking space available at the overlook on the top of the mountain. Popular tourist spots include the geyser and hot springs on the mountainsides. Swimming pools formed by the river offer a relaxing and tranquil environment in this otherwise sparse terrain. Most famous is the archaeological site at the Jebel Hafeet desert park, also called the Mezyad Desert Park. 500 tombs were discovered, along with jewelry, utensils, and artifacts from Mesopotamia, Iran, and the Indus valley civilization. They date back to the Bronze Age, between 3200-2600BC, during the Hafit period, after which the mountain is named. The Mezyad Fort here was built in the 19th century. Prices/Timing Entry to the mountain overlooks and peak is free, as is entry to the Green Mubazzarah. Prices for tours range from AED 200 to 900 for guided tours of Al Ain and the Hajjar mountains. If you want a day trip out of Abu Dhabi or Dubai to watch the sunset, it’s best to get on the road in the afternoon, about three hours before sunset. Traffic will be less on the mountain road, letting you enjoy the scenery and the driving experience. Where to stay? The hotel at Jebel Hafeet is owned and run by Mercure. Prices start at AED 200 per night for a deluxe room. Several chalets are available to rent, as well. The mountain is best enjoyed from a tent. The night weather is quite temperate even in peak summer, and sunrise on the Jebel Hafeet is priceless. Precautions If you want to camp at the mountain at night, you have to get there early. Carry enough warm clothes - it gets cold at night, going below 0 degrees in the winter. To take lots of pictures, the most scenic views can be discovered by walking the trails. It is important to carry water as it gets very warm in the daytime. If you’re expecting to do some stargazing, make sure you check the weather beforehand. Clear skies are better for the views.

Trust me, they might take a day or two but they have to respond. Verbal communication has ZERO value when dealing with car dealers here in UAE. I have asked Al Tayer service advisor to print me a service history of my recently owned Range Rover and his response was "Sir it's not allowed". I was like Im the new owner and I have all the right to know what has happened to the car with the previous owner who showed me dealer stamps in the service booklet without any details. "Sir it's company policy" Wrote an email and, got a response in less than a day time with the full-service history breakdown.

Totally agree with this, if you or previous owner is in an apocalyptic rush then Tasjeel and Shamil Comprehensive test are borderline acceptable or otherwise independent and "EDUCATED" technician or mechanic is always better. Even better if you take it to your trusted mechanic and ask him to inspect.

Jebel Jais is one the relatively new but very exciting place to visit if you are staying in the UAE. Jebel Jais is located in Ras al Khaimah, and it is the tallest peak in the UAE at nearly 2,000 meters (6,345ft). What used to be a treacherous landscape is now an adventurer’s paradise. With every weather change, all the residents rush to Jebel Jais to witness either big drop in temperature in summer or witness freezing temperature in the winter. In three occasions there was even a snowfall on Jebel Jais in 2004, 2009 and in 2017, which is very strange for UAE hot climate. A beautiful 20 km road has been built with amazing hairpin bends which take you up to the Jebel Jais mountain all the way to the new viewing deck. Jebel Jais road to the mountain has 8 viewpoints, that can be easily spotted in Google maps and offer a brilliant scenic view of the Hajjar Mountains in the RAK. After the 8th viewpoint, you can reach the Jebel Jais Observation deck. How to reach Jabal Jais is a two-hour drive from Dubai. Take Ras Al Khor road to Ras Al Khaimah, and exit at Exit 126. Then go on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed road to Jabal Jais road. It will take you an hour on this road to get to the top. There are numerous hiking and bicycle trails here, many of which are accessible from the top of the mountain. Jebel Jais Via Ferrata is a climbing route composed of three zip lines. It is more than 1km long. You can get all the required equipment and instruction at the location. A typical tour lasts for four hours, in which you’ll climb 120 meters. Watching the sunset from Jebel Jais is a surreal experience; even more surreal is the view of the night sky. The flat and straight road turns into driving heaven in the foothills, with switchbacks and hairpins everywhere. Observation deck telescopes offer a breathtaking view of the surroundings in great details. Plenty of shades and camping spots available for a picnic at Jebel Jais. The temperature is generally about 5-10-degrees colder than Dubai - be sure to carry a jacket. The administration is very strict about cleanliness, so make sure you retrieve every little scrap or wrapper after camping. When hiking, it is important to not go alone - make sure your phone is charged, and let people (family, friends, other hikers) know of your whereabouts. Make sure you have enough water and a few light snacks. Jabal Al Jais is becoming a global hub for adventure sports. With more investment powered by tourism, this will soon be Van Damme’s playground. Beautiful and quiet, this is an exemplary travel opportunity that shouldn’t be missed.

Thanks @hossein for sharing the user guide of Pajero omani hack as suggested by many Pajero owners. By reading this hack, for sure I wouldn't recommend or advise anyone as it says that you should always drive on LLC means a LO gear, which itself is a kicker for any car if you plan to use it for next few years. Secondly, this trick the transmission to be in limp mode and that's not actually you want when offroading. So pretty disappointed to know how it's done. @Asif Hussain thank god you didn't opt for Pajero thinking that this Omani hack will cure the issue.

Trust me you can never land up in such situation unless you plan to do such crazy stunt to let car fly of 40- 50 meters at the speed of 80 kmph.
