  1. Yes something like this one with the big vent in the center (back facing) I need
  2. Read Again Hahahah, is this corvette one.....?
  3. I agree on electrifying Mustang possibility, though this spy shot didn't look any different tbh, maybe no much change planned by Ford in this tight economic ....
  4. Excellent post @Javier M, as usual, your contributions are always detailed and helpful. Keep it up. Only small thing I like to add for others to not to increase the radiator capacity beyond 25% as that will put additional load on the stock water pump. Of course, more coolant is better but one need to offset the load on the water pump that might fail or make it slower in circulation.
  5. Mine was Nissany Sunny 1992 model in the year 2002 and used it very nicely being the first car in UAE. I mean real nicely - all the pun intended
  6. Of course everyone is right in their observation of not in Parking or in reverse, not securing car with another tow rope. Here are my few observations: Actual tip over with winch was too fast The winch is underrated to hold the weight (Maybe) Winch cable hit the rock when under load resulting in a snap No rope assist used while winching that could have injured someone No people push required if winch fails all 3 people would have been injured
  7. Sure, keep us posted on what they found out and how you fixed the issue
  8. Then it's time to find out your service history if gear failed due to no oil change......! Is your car moving in any gear or complete dead? I don't think you need the second opinion if Nissan dealer said CVT failed then I'm sure they are serious. Now the question is how and where to repair. You can search Hoorani Automatic Gear in Sharjah, and find out how much they can rebuild the gear and also check with Dexol in Dubai. They both are good, dexol will be tad expensive and see which one offer better warranty for their work. If you still need the second opinion then there are tons of General service workshop in Dubai here in business listing section, see which one is closer and go there.
  9. Mobil 1 and Grand Service Center has awesome steam wash all across Dubai. Just google the nearest one and call them as in some centers steam wash is not there.
  10. Do you mean "Gear" Oil and filter or "Engine Oil and filter" changed 6 months ago? Do ask Nissan on what should you do next if car CVT gear is failing at 70K irrespective of maintaining with dealer....? I'm sure if it's regular behavior they must have some sort some type of program or partial warranty coverage or goodwill warranty coverage to take care of this. Have you tried that...?
  11. Totally agree on Dexol is amazing and also Hoorani in Sharjah is also equally good. Though not sure if Hoorani does Bimmers as I repaired my Accord gearbox ages ago
  12. When have you changed the gear oil and filter last? And have you asked the Nissan guys the reason of failing CVT transmission at 69K seems too early? Have you checked if there is any recall to this issue? In which year and at how many kms your car warranty have expired? https://carnity.com/recall or google it
  13. @Dhav you probably didn't understand my earlier message clearly, let me break it down in step by step action. I don't doubt or believe Extreme or Munich guys but just saying for additional diagnostic because no two guys are pointing the same problem or even remotely close. However when you talk about an intermittent problem then it's genuinely a nightmare for even the competent workshop to spot the correct issue. And it's an expensive fix of either ECU or gearbox, so I would definitely go with the third opinion and then if any two diagnoses are same then I will pull the trigger. Step 1: Find a competent BMW diagnostic center, better if they are not a workshop and just a professional diagnostic center only, so chances to get the most unbiased report. You can even check with AGMC to scan the problem if it fits in your budget - just a scan. Step 2: Approach them saying your car switching off issue without influencing their mind with extreme or Munich diagnostic report. Let them work independently. Step 3: Note the actual trouble codes stored in the system as per the first scan. Step 4: Ask them to clear the code. Step 5: If the diagnostic tool offer live data, then drive around with the diagnostic tool hooked in until some fault code pops in as soon as your engine stalls. As it's an intermittent problem so this might take a while to show up. Step 6: If the diagnostic tool doesn't offer live data, drive around and try to reproduce the engine stalling and as soon as it happens, go back to them and ask them to scan again and get you the new fault codes stored. Step 7: This fault code will be your actual trouble maker and then we can see if it matches with extreme or munich report to attend the right fix. Try google and find an independent BMW Diagnostic center and get the new codes, preferably printed out of there scanner system rather than handwritten or hand type, which eliminates the room for human error or judgment. Also check if Motrox still offering free diagnostic for Carnity members, as they had that promotion a while back.

  15. I think this Sweihan, Stair dune is much closer and empty with enough room to announce the best climber in a straight line - without using the stairs strategy. So, when are you boys attempting....? https://goo.gl/maps/iggKdzVAypG2
  16. Thanks, @Ren13 but I need in the other direction to let the engine heat escape than sucking the air.
  17. Discuss your next car mod in mind be it immediate or long term. I'll start with mine Short term: Get back the platinum plugs, change the gear oil and filter, renew diff oils etc Long term: Cut the hood with pretty hood louvers to actually attend the heat escape issue under my Pajero
  18. @Barry @treks @DamasoSanoja @shadow79 @Jalil bhai @Faisal khan Please help
  19. This is a perfect example of how to recover side stuck in sand dunes with utmost safety and precision. Everyone is clear from the stuck vicinity and recording or taking the pictures away from the rope radius so that if tow point or shackles fail it won't hit anyone and injure/kill them. In a hard tug situation, one should use dampers or additional rope assist to absorb the shock if any tow point fails. Positioned the car right behind the way of the stuck car And not diagonally that can result in a flip with a sudden jerk Clear communication and repeat message before giving the tug Both the driver should be ready than an unexpected tug that may break bones Stretch the rope fully and always give a gentle tug "first" on side stuck Gentle tug "first" will always tell you how hard you can go next time than giving the hard tug first. This precision comes with experience and maturity than just giving the full throttle tug Repeat the message again for the second tug to prepare the driver Perfect safety message for the stuck driver, to update the recovery status so he can be ready for second tug Repeated second tug by changing the path slightly to get better traction Many offroaders will dig themselves on the second tug due to not changing the path. This slight change in path helps to get the firm sand to have better traction. Well done @Emmanuel for recovering @Julien V in the best and safest possible way.
  20. Before changing or assuming anything, get the diagnostic print out (not handwritten) summary of codes to actually identify what is the issue.
  21. Isn't Munich is saying gearbox and Extreme is saying ECU as per your first post......? Once you get the printed trouble codes, please post it here
  22. How much Munich Motor is charging to fix and are they giving any guarantee? What all stuff replacement Munich suggested? Secondly, just hand type the "ACTUAL" trouble codes as this estimation is filled with 1+100 leaks, observation, and protection procedures that may or may not require immediately to solve your main problem. I remember getting 3000 dhs quote from a reputed garage (30 years exp) for fixing a slight missing (without guarantee), that got cured with replacing ICV for 600 dhs. I can only read 2C7B (O2 sensor) and 5E18 (DSC/ABS related). If you paid for this diagnostic then ask them to give you a printed copy of all fault codes without their suggestions or observations, because many times due to one or two sensor failure you get 5-10 error codes which are affected with them. In my older Range, I got a gearbox failure when it was low battery - changed the battery and car was fine.
