  1. Back again now, that I can't find any brand that does fully synthetic and 50 other than this Mobil 1 which is not available in UAE. https://www.amazon.com/Mobil1-Racing-0w-50-Synthetic-Engine/dp/B00F2JB6FC/ https://www.amazon.com/Mobil-5W-50-Synthetic-Quart-Bottles/dp/B00LXAFRY0/ Appreciate if someone can help source 0W50 or 5W50 fully synthetic engine oil in UAE, please.
  2. I second to barry's thought that G is not even half as comfy, practical and performing as much as cayenne but a good head turner due to royalty reputation attached to it. I had a Cayenne Turbo for two years and it's a well built and very reliable SUV, as Porsche resale is quite low in UAE so you can actually score a good deal on 3-5 years old model. However, G will hold better resale value than Cayenne any day due to reputation attached. Mind you that G second row seating is quiet cramped for an adult unless the front driver or passenger moves ahead.
  3. I started very early as I couldn't sleep for long, so decided to reach at the meeting point by 3 AM and went on top of big red and enjoyed a nice breeze for an hour. Emanuel joined on time and we were just two cars in this convoy. Probably the shortest convoy I had in a very long time. As it was just two of us, so pace was quite fast and nimble. Played around the big red in the dark and then took a 15-20 mins break for the daylight to come so that we can continue through the dunes instead of the track - all the way to Pink rock. And it was the best decision, to wait and enjoy the scenery of this terrain and how we can connect Big Red to Pink Rock all through tall - medium size dunes. We drove for 1 good hour and scaled all the dunes and kept continuing towards the pink rock - I must say that it was the best 1-hour drive with a quality than with a quantity. We wasted a bit of time when I got sucked down in a soft sand pocket where all my 4 tires were free and the car was hanging on front and back bumper only. With a bit of shoveling, we cleared the winch hook and Xterra pulled me out without an effort. We reached Pink rock by 6 and played there for 30 minutes and recorded few videos and then decided to head towards Tawi exit. By 7ish we were out and completed 25 km offroad in less than 2 hours (excluding break and stuck). It was very nice, short and sweet drive to remember for a long time. Thanks, Emanuel for wonderful second lead and sweep.
  4. Love this reply, lololol.
  5. Please note I have changed the GPS coordinate from Al Ramool Motorcyle to desert safari, so that we can reach faster with the overhead bridge loop
  6. Forget the price, but I wouldn't trust that to be original. Instead if many are serious here, we can buy in London or US store and it gets it shipped here to be 100% sure of originality.
  7. I always buy Redex supply from London visit, when I go every once in a year or two years for a family visit. I think it cost 12 - 15 GBP for a pack of 3 bottles, each bottle can treat 4 tanks. This product is by far the best fuel additive I have ever used that shows immediate results in throttle response, fuel efficiency and restoring power.
  8. Well if the car is GCC specs and not an import then you shouldn't get worried about the heat as that's what the job of GCC specification to take care about all the extreme weather condition persists in the Middle east arid weather. I had the 2006 Porsche Cayenne Turbo for almost 2 years and never faced any engine heating or AC inefficient cooling at all, of course, it was GCC specs. If you are thinking of importing your existing Porsche to Dubai upon your move, then definitely it's a very bad idea as the amount of money you will spend on fixing the heat issues will be quite expensive knowing the Porsche and the age of your model. I paid 1500 dhs (410 USD) for one headlight shell from scrap guy and when I asked the reason, I got the reply: "Sir, it's a Porsche" However, if you have some emotional attachment to it then nothing is impossible in Dubai, there are tons of Porsche experts who can modify it to withstand GCC specifications.

So let's have a nice early morning drive from Big red to Pink rock area. Plan to play all along the way, so we can enjoy for a couple of hours before the heat kicks in. When: 24 Aug July 2018 Meeting time: 04:00 AM, the convoy will move sharply at 04:15 AM Where: Big red - opposite bidayer shops GPSCoordinate: https://goo.gl/maps/opok7gqAtX82 Level of drive: Intermediate - Expert - Advance - (No newbie - fewbie) Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 10 inches of ground clearance What to bring along: Breakfast snacks - whatever you like with little extra to share, water, liquids, smiles and courage. 11. Yes, barry you are right, I got this front sus MTB as first 1 km shortest distance to cycling strip is a bit of offroad, sand cross tracks and loose gravel path. Good to know that you are a bike encyclopedia, I keep pinging you then. Thanks.
  12. If you are going for another car then you will enjoy but for sure "you will not find anything" for 99 Pajero and will be kept on referring to UAQ or Shj scrap behind the macro.
  13. It's an Upten River MTB with front shocks and 7 gear rear + 3 gear fwd for steep climbs. To be honest I haven't gone in too much detail as it was an impulsive buy (very rare) than a planned one. I tried a few bikes and just bought this based on comfort and looks. Feel free to advise how is it for beginners usage. I totally agree this place is not quite safe for the cyclist unless you hook a hitch and carry bike to cycle strip. My house is very close to cycling strip and yesterday for the first time riding a bike on the roadside, I got the creeps. This bike has a removable wheel so after removing the front wheel, it can fit in Range boot with the second row folded. Good point for Isotonic drink, and will see how far I take this new hobby as yesterday I did 3 km in 13 mins at a leisure pace.
  14. Thanks for the advice, Ill def go slow and keep it for fun than getting into any grueling competition, I never do that in health anyways. I have a nice 3km long walking and cycling strip next to my house, so will give it a go with that first and then slowly move forward. Sertac, once I decide to head qudra, will let you know. I'm sure it will be good fun to ride together with a few bikes.
  15. Fair point to identify other causes of failure, but ICV once gone you can barely clean and fix it. I tried that few times and it goes back to stalling car in the next day.
  16. I just bought my first bike (not motorbike yet) last night, with an aim to get back my health as the nice season starts soon. Plan to do regular cycling every day and wondering if we have any bikers in-house here who can share their experiences. As a first-timer, here I'll be riding the bike after 20-25 years from my school days so any tips and advice are highly appreciated.
  17. Autopro is decent for minor and not too technically involve jobs, I wouldn't bet on those staff for anything more than regular brake pad change, tire change or oil change job tbh. I learned this after many horror stories I hear from their so-called yo-yo mechanics.
  18. Sorry to say, but third option of scouting Sajja for 1999 shape Pajero is USELESS, I own one and regretted that few times in most desperate moments. The second option is somewhat doable, contact Jabal tokyo owner Ahmed (056 9675230) and give Carnity reference or my name reference - Gaurav (if he still rem me) and asked him to find clean one from Japanese import (not GCC one's - highly abused)). If you are lucky, you will get one at a quarter of habtoor price. However, the best is to get the new one from habtoor ONLY as Barry mentioned to avoid fake one selling at a premium price and failing after few months. I know that it's expensive as I bought once, I think 700-800 dhs but it's worth the hassle if you plan to keep the car.
  19. I think you have covered all the points very well @Frederic Nuyttens and this much due diligence should be enough to find that clean 1 in 1000 Cherokees in UAE. Only remember that don't get carried away with 999 Cherokee's and have set criteria to call and filter.
  20. Thanks, Stig for your suggestion, but unfortunately I can't find the bill, but will still give it a go as that shop owner knows me for over 10 years. lololol. Desertdude, this English issue what you think is one way to look at it, but I feel it is there to protect them for a legal battle from Yuasa, by saying all these specs are for reference only similar to Yuasa battery.
  21. Due to lack of interest and dates closing soon for the hotel booking, I'm calling off this trip.
