  1. This is how exactly legend stories are formed, as one guy saw stage III modified Patrol or LC 100 over the dunes doing wonders and he go to dubizzle to buy one and start crying after month of real struggle with stock vehicle "INCAPABILITY" or not meeting his expectation vs what he has seeing on that stage III modified version with triple the cost of stock vehicle. I have been fooled 2 times, same way. People use Patrol or LC shell not because they are capable but they are spacious to accommodate LS small block V8 engine or Lexus V8 with twin turbo or supercharger setup. Each build cost in range of 50-80K excluding the stock vehicle cost. @Javier M I agree these modern pickups are comfy and powerful but they are mostly found in Sweihan or Liwa type of terrain - ultra broad and tall dune range, keeping whale body in check on every dune is not fun. I have 3 friends with pickup and when they drive, they hardly cross any dune or crest, instead keep making a track sideways, criss crossing only.
  2. I meant for dune bashing and not desert driving. Going back to elementary question: Ask yourself how many times you have seen pickup doing dune bashing - less than 5 out of 100. We have seen usually LC and Nissan pickup doing the farm work in the desert.
  3. Finally an SUV that has been tastefully design with beefy looks, sporty heart and great road presence. I know what others might jump on saying oh its same as DB11, but that at least runs the legacy and looks good too than just swollen balloon or copy cat versions we have seen lately. Design department 10/10. Detailing 8/10 Exhaust 11/10
  4. Coming back to the topic Tesla Cybertruck is a PICKUP TRUCK, meant for Picking up load, tow things, long haul purpose (unlike UAE) and definitely not meant for dune bashing, but just an offroad drive to get where they want to go. Offroad and dune bashing is totally two different things. No pickup truck is ideal for dune bashing unless driven by @Asif Hussain
  5. Oh boy, now someone opened a can of worms from those 4 door Armada testing dayssssss.
  6. Well done @Shamil acceptance and self realization is the first step to success. As far as you have realized what was missing you can work on that area in the future drives. Every driver has some good and bad days in offroading, so don't get hung up on any specific mishap, it's ok. Probably you were just little hesitant because of check engine light issue. Research on this issue and get permanent closure on this so that you can drive and enjoy at ease. Secondly every driver when move to higher level require few drives to get soak in with the new challenges, pace and quick decision making skills etc. so it's fine, give yourself couple of intermediate drives and you will be fine.
  7. Now the people creativity comes in play to render however they like. Thanks @Atif for sharing. @desertdude I just shared this news and my viewpoints of Tesla Cybertruck - All Electric Pickup Truck, best things I like (those 5 points), but I am still not sold on EV idea all together, until they become viable. All those points I like can be implemented in any Petrol trucks / suv too.
  8. This guy known for doing things differently and I like the most in this truck: 1) Paintless, dent and scratches proof body, why others aren't thinking same way. 2) Inbuilt ramp for quad is simply genius. 3) Independent control suspension height. 4) Design is totally unique from today sheeps world. Not sure I like this yet, as I feel some minor detailing are still missing, but overall different design is great. 5) I dont care about bullet proof glass, instead I prefer breakable and removable glass for escaping from emergencies especially offroad related accidents or fire scenarios.
  9. Thank you Dubai Police for making all my fines ZERO. Although I'm little surprise to see this happening earlier than a year in nine months precisely, maybe because I sold this plate car and they wipe the slate clean. Phew. A 46329 - Range Rover plate showing ZERO Other car plates showing ZERO too.
  10. Tesla Cybertruck launched yesterday in the category of all electric pick up truck. Very weird and different design, seems to disturb initially but eventually it will grow on you (I think). What do you guys think of design..........? Single Motor: $39,900 - 0 to 60 mph in 6.5 sec with max speed at 110 mph Dual Motor: $49,900 - 0- 60 mph in 4.5 sec with max speed at 120 mph Tri Motor: $69,900 - 0- 60 mph in 2.9 sec with max speed at 130 mph All Cybertrucks have an adjustable air suspension that can be raised or lowered on the fly and provides up to 16 inches of ground clearance. Add that to its 35-degree approach and 28-degree departure angles and the Tesla pickup could prove to be a formidable off-road machine. The Cybertruck measures 231.7 inches long, 79.9 inches wide, and 75.0 inches tall. It features a 6.5-foot cargo bed that has 100 cubic feet of volume. Musk says that bed can hold up to 3500 pounds of payload on every version, and the strongest model can tow 14,000 pounds. Figures seems really impressive to beat the best in competition from pricing, dimensions, performance, capability etc.
  11. Congrats Frederic on your first wonderful lead, 64 kms in 2 hours seems rocket pocket dancing a lot with velociraptor. Shamil kudos to you for keeping pace between the two and seems you are almost there with Intermediate drive level challenges and pace, keep it up.
  12. This is exact shit you will see in MARS series. It's not a show off business, but real business in a quest who will strike a gold first, as towards end another chinese explorer make there way to colonize too and things start getting dirty with no boundaries, no rules, no ownership etc as space treaty signed in 70 -80 is very vague and meaningless. Btw only way to survive on Mars is inside huge lava tubes to place a dome and colonize, as outside radiation is too bad.
  13. So all the space lovers here do watch MARS both seasons on netflix and you will love it. I'm almost at the end now and it shares hell of a things what an average Joe cant think about mars, distance, time, challenges and big disasters. Sadly in end its turning out that space exploration is never been a scientific discovery but purely a business. Same way humans exploited earth, now they are in need of another planet to exploit. Overall it's an interesting watch with little bit of drama and lot of thrill.
  14. Coils and sensors (electrical stuff) are always better OEM or aftermarket (if pressed for pricing). Reason is electrical scrap part get bad by mishandling very fast (by dirt, water, moisture etc) and there is no easy way to check before buying. You might get lucky once in a while, but 90% you are shooting in the dark. Again if its low price, worth a try to test your luck. I got my Trail blazer headlight SSD relay from scrap for 50 dhs, because liberty need 30 days for ordering and priced at 350 dhs and my wife cannot drive car with one headlight off. Thank fully its still working fine after a year and half, so electrical scrap depends on your stars positioning tbh. If I have a chance to buy OEM, ill stick to that as my first choice. I changed my Pajero coil 6 years back and they burned a 1000+ dhs hole but thankfully they havent failed as it was OEM. Another point is if you are using scrap electrical parts for any reason, then try to see if that part is already in the scrap car or component then chances are its safe to try to great extent. If its kept on shelf, boxes or floor then its worth nothing.
  15. This is exactly how offroader mind works. I was thinking same of telling desertdude that in 250K USD imagine how many Range (for road, as he love it) and other capable offroaders you can buy........? After little bit of offroad experience, I like to split eggs in different basket so I can have a backup of backup even.
  16. SSSSSShhhhh......! Dont tell this secret to wifeys, or else this is THE ONLY way they can loose weight and will force us to replace gym membership with space travel ticket.
  17. Electric and recovery cannot go in same sentence. Small fuse, wire, switch, short circuit can impair your recovery process. I rem when my winch controller switch failed in one of extreme recovery and we spend next 4-5 hours joining ropes, and finding suitable angle to tug.
  18. Is this vibration since the last major service? Then ask the workshop to check the manifold and manifold gasket as if they have removed and re-fixed that, there is a possibility to misaligned or have a little bent on that thin metal gasket. I experience something similar on 4k rpm band and disappear at 5k, little whistle and vibration.
