  1. Finally I found the car steering cover that I have been looking for leather steering wheel cover after lot of research and patience. Custom upholstery guys told me 350 dhs and leave car for 1 day, both things were no-no for me. It's a DIY cover that took almost 3 hours for me to sew it together. Driving feel is priceless now to hold this with a smile.
  2. New custom made with same working specs as the old one.

  5. Thanks Barry, where exactly should we stick this pressure tester? And how we can put in few more PSI than normal for testing purpose?
  6. I understand what you are saying, but it is leaking from different components and not one hose after another hose. Radiator -> Heater Hose -> Water pump. Something is not right to fail 3 different things in a row. Even it's old, all parts are original OEM and changed regularly, then why all are failing one after the other, crazy coincidence. If this new custom radiator has some flaw (just assuming), can it burst things in cooling system....?
  7. Few drives back I had a bit of nose dive and (I assume) radiator clutch fan has touched the radiator. No immediate damage or leak spotted but after 2-3 weeks, coolant started leaking under the radiator from the center. On first look, mechanic spotted that clutch fan stamp on the radiator and assume that it is the radiator leaking and we need to change the radiator. After layers of headache as it was custom made radiator, we sourced identically same radiator (3 core, copper and brass) and replace the old one and leak stopped. After one week, coolant started leaking from behind the engine. This time mechanic spotted that coolant feed and return pipe to the heater is burst and need to be changed. We changed both pipes with OEM part and leak stopped. After one week, now coolant leaking from center of the engine and on recent diagnose it seems now water pump is leaking. First two incident may or may not be the coincidence, but third failure of water pump now make me wonder what is wrong here to have these series of failure one after the other.
  8. Steering rack can be rebuild, last year trailblazer steering rack leaked due to winching when tires were pointing in the other direction. I think it costed me 600 dhs, can't rem exact amount. Two months later it leaked again and the guy who rebuild it, fixed again without any additional charges as rebuild had 3 or 6 months guarantee, i paid for labor only for the second time.
  9. Good morning, this is very old video taking rounds on social early this year just after the Jimny launch. God knows the authenticity or if it was a paid influencer job. You must have got the ice bucket challenge now in RAK huh. And if in today's world you believe everything you see on screen, then you are saint bro. I don't even believe my own eyes "unless" I see good number of repeat heros as everyone here like/drive sleeper cars and I have been fooled quite so many times by "Pride of the Land", "King of the offroad", "Best 4x4 by far" media and marketing bs and wasted ton of money and time to go home frustrated. It's been close to an year now this new Jimny launched, and I personally have not seen 1 in the UAE desert yet. I have seen 4 - 5 on the road only. Maybe they all are busy with liwa rounds. Hope you know in Jimny engine swap is the most easy and RTA friendly as 4 cyl to 4 cyl, but from 1.2/4L (76-100 hp) to 2.0L (160+ hp) vitara engine that kick ass with enough body-weight ratio to make this dinky literally fly on every dune.
  10. Nope it doesn't brake, it just make loud beep beep beep just like reverse camera does, just beep system to alert the collision.
  11. Not sure my Range had anti collision with DCC but one feature I use to love was shouting a loud beep if I drive too close to anyone or have distracted attention for a split second and front car brakes. That's an awesome feature.
  12. Fog or such natural causes are only exception for delayed drive start, otherwise we should always start and finish on time. Waiting for one or few is disrespectful to all others time who were punctual.
  13. Try driving adaptive cruise to cruise down the highway here, you will know the stupidity of designer and also impulsive road user here. Both are at extreme. Fred, your car also had a 100 meter braking distance or is it Range only....?
  14. I use cruise control pretty much all the time, it's less stressful for following speed limits and error free to not to get speeding ticket.
  15. Hope you heard from Rahimdad or Sri, if not still make it to the meeting point and jump in with anyone, you will enjoy.
  16. You want to join newbie drive or intermediate? Accordingly will ping you right now.
  17. You can always join as a passenger and post request here, Im sure someone will be happy to have you onboard and you can learn a lot as a passenger in early days. Im going for Sweihan with Emmanuel, if you like to join that let me know.
  18. @Emmanuel and @Javier M can we start at 5:45 AM considering whole day weather is very nice, as i'm stuck with some family commitment till late tonite?
  19. I'm not sure about the hurdle, but its the most "IRRITATING" thing I have ever found in my Range. Problem with adaptive cruise control is it keeps lot of distance, and keep braking quite early that makes everyone else fall in front of you and your cruise again keep on braking more and more. I have only used cruise on empty road and not in traffic moving road for this reason. Although it comes with distance adjustment - 3 settings, but the minimum distance is also over 100 meters, normally when human being control the car we keep 100 meter distance at 120-140 speed and not at 60. If distance can be tweaked manually to bare minimum to what suits your driving style, road and traffic then it will be nice than having a blanket system.
  20. U mean auto to manual conversion for car....? You can convert license with classss and re test, check with belhasa and EDI. For driving manual is not allowed on automatic license, but you can buy and register car without any issue, as lately told to me by @Srikumar, please confirm.
  21. You shouldn't be asking such question, as everyone here is knowledge seeking folks than the blind folded ones. Go for it 100% Things you should include is in the same sequence as you planned so people reading it know what all to expect in chronological order like: Distance, drive time, weather, visa, accommodation, places to visit, heritage, famous food, tradition, people, language, local food etc.
  22. @Barry start putting lol at end so @shadow79 can get the joke.
  23. Yes I recently broke a spring on my Pajero after 20 years out of which 9 years was ONLY offroad. (300 dhs). In old Range I changed Air Suspension twice in two year. (4K/Year) (80K for 20 year). Now, you get me point when I mean reliability, long-life and cost effective. It's a profit center for car manufacturer. Period.
