  3. Pink rocks in Sharjah is a perfect place for fewbie level offroad desert drive, that spans through medium to big size dunes. This area offers plenty of opportunities for offroaders to learn and advance their offroading skills in a very safe and controlled manner. The plan is to start easy through newbie level dunes for first few minutes to get convoy spirit warmed up enough and then get into the more challenging area that offers real adrenaline fix for aspiring dune bashers. 4. Just a thought if you still have a chance to do side by side pic of old vs new that can help others even more.
  5. @Barry and @treks you can use the expert or legend membership to have a PM feature enabled, so that you can continue talking to each other privately. Remember Barry that now the active members have no PM feature so that we will not be bombarded by PM from a new member who is always shy away to ask a question on Carnity and happy to post their whole life hour-by-hour update on Facebook and Instagram. Good riddance.
  6. Congratulations @Srikumar for reaching the Marshal level with Carnity Offroad club. It is one of the most prestigious and sought after title that comes with a lot of hard work, patience, tolerance, and dedication. Just like all the levels in Carnity offroad club is "NOT" only based on driving skills but instead based on the combination of your personality + intelligence + team spirit + adventure. This Marshal title is an epitome for all levels in the offroad grading structure. So if anyone wants to grow, they can set Marshal as a PERFECT example for not only following the driving style but observing their behavior, teamwork, presence of mind, calculative approach, patience and tolerance to teach and support new offroaders. Once again congratulations Sri and best wishes for your next adventure! Carnity Offroad Club very first drive on 27 Jan 2017, where Srikumar has also joined for the first time. 7. Looks like not many offroaders are interested here in knowing these secrets, as they are happy being stuck. My observation: Everything that Fred and Javier's mention is true + when you are in lead you are bound to get these stuck as sometimes you step on deceiving looking sand, that looks hard from top but super soft from below. So as soon as you step on it, you will get stuck. Sometimes in such situation, only your early action of steering down/away can help to escape such stuck. Emmanuel, please add your viewpoint as a driver in case we have missed any.
  8. @syedyaseer Where is the Prado Pie in the pie chart?
  9. @vsmano @ARS @Shamil @Anas Assaf @Yagya To All Absolute Newbies, please make sure that your car has front and back tow hook for tomorrow drive. Also, appreciate if you can share which car you drive and if you have any previous sand offroad experience?
  10. My skill set matches exactly with you on this.
  11. Leave your concious at home on Friday then or else you will feel guilty of 6k rev at times and 2-3k revs at all the time.
  12. I have read many car owners manual and never spotted a section specifically for what to do after offroad drives. They all have how to check and inspect fluids, quantity and there specs in general. I think @edouard has hit that nail very well with his thread.
  13. Welcome @vsmano to Carnity and Its offroad club, this drive will be perfect for absolute newbies.
  14. Good input @Javier M and thanks for sharing the full-length video to get these little cuts for learning Let's see what others have to say more......!
  15. Let's see what our offroaders have to say for this stuck......? You can post any of your stuck or someone else stuck or even youtube stuck to discuss and learn Stuck 2.mp4
  16. See if you love this Gen2 Pajero for any reason, old memory, old love, some soft corner then go ahead and buy and live with it and you will enjoy it. If Gen2 Pajero is just another beater 4x4 then stay away from this, as they get pricey very quickly due to Mitsubishi expensive spare parts, long wait for some special spare parts due to unavailability. Buying a 10 years old Xterra is better than 20 years old Pajero (older engineering), that require a lot of money to bring it back to the suitable state for weekend warrior - suspension, steering, engine, AC, engine cooling, transmission. I remember spending tons on engine cooling when I first bought it. On road - no heating, engage 4x4 and within 5 mins it starts heating up. You just can't buy this 20-year-old Pajero for 8-10K and straight into the desert for the next 1 year. You might have to spend 5-10k more to bring it to 100% usable strength for offroad so it can take a weekend bashing.
  17. It's not on Saturday, this drive is on Friday
  18. Just like to mention, that timing is 6:30AM and not 7:00 like previous drives.
  19. After buying 10k ride and spending 5 -7 k for mods and overhauling, better to buy 20k Xterra, in stock condition it can outperform most of the capable 4x4.
