  1. Now that's the case of shady workmanship or sub standard or non rated parts. Nothing to do with car. Even my Pajero was about to go up in flames as aux fan switch shorted because it was installed without a fuse with a bad quality Chinese switch, but this all failed when I was driving. Who wired your car to leave live ignition switch when car was turned off.....?
  2. I couldn't agree more of Tesla being a buzz word but honestly it's still surprises me how can a parked car catch fire......? Everyone talking about supercar and hypercar catching fire but that's due to extreme pushing or accident like even in desert toys when pushed to max they burst into a flames. Fully understandable. How many times anyone here witnessed a parked car catching a fire....? This reminds me of of note 7 battery or hooverboard exploding issue.
  3. This one is the craziest one as Tesla caught fire while parked and not hitting anything like in previous explosions. Watch till the end with fullscreen, with smoke coming for a long time before the fire explosion.
  4. Which engine oil (brand and spec) you are running and how old it is?
  5. Just a thought guys, maybe we can remove the stock tow hook once a year to inspect for any corrosion as visual looks from outside may not be sufficient especially on the bolt thread.
  6. We always like to share and listen everyone's experiences, please go ahead @M.K with your inputs. I used safety straps on both sides on stubborn stucks if car doesn't come out in first 2-3 attempts or if I need to give harder tug to reposition the car.
  7. Brilliant share @G.huz I have received this yesterday while I was out and until now it was in the back of my mind to share and you did it before me. Like these days soft shackles are must, I think we regularly need to check our tow points for internal corrosion over time. @Frederic is there any stress test available to see if existing tow hook can be rated against 4-5 tons pull? Just a thought
  8. Very nicely written @Frederic, just like to add two more points: Water intake is dependent on your body weight And also the number of mins you are exercising https://goodcalculators.com/water-intake-calculator/ For same body weight, 3.83 litres is required for 30 mins workout, but 4.9 litres is required if you work out for 2 hours
  9. Thanks, @Javier M for sharing such problem with its solution, makes a perfect example of how anyone can contribute there car owning experience and it's little problem as they happen on a daily basis. Every thread need not to be 10,000 words long or bringing some special feature or crazy angle. If everyone shares this little experiences then it will help a lot of other car owners in the future.

  11. Real names are always better than the dude, playing desert video games calling himself an offroader
  12. That's the main art every offroader here have learned and mastered before the offroading. Good luck and may the force be with you.
  13. For all ultra expensive parts above 3K price, better to bet on used parts as even if you get half life with 1/10 or 1/20 of price, still make better sense.

  19. Just a thought if you still have a chance to do side by side pic of old vs new that can help others even more.
  20. @Barry and @treks you can use the expert or legend membership to have a PM feature enabled, so that you can continue talking to each other privately. Remember Barry that now the active members have no PM feature so that we will not be bombarded by PM from a new member who is always shy away to ask a question on Carnity and happy to post their whole life hour-by-hour update on Facebook and Instagram. Good riddance.
  21. Congratulations @Srikumar for reaching the Marshal level with Carnity Offroad club. It is one of the most prestigious and sought after title that comes with a lot of hard work, patience, tolerance, and dedication. Just like all the levels in Carnity offroad club is "NOT" only based on driving skills but instead based on the combination of your personality + intelligence + team spirit + adventure. This Marshal title is an epitome for all levels in the offroad grading structure. So if anyone wants to grow, they can set Marshal as a PERFECT example for not only following the driving style but observing their behavior, teamwork, presence of mind, calculative approach, patience and tolerance to teach and support new offroaders. Once again congratulations Sri and best wishes for your next adventure! Carnity Offroad Club very first drive on 27 Jan 2017, where Srikumar has also joined for the first time. 22. Looks like not many offroaders are interested here in knowing these secrets, as they are happy being stuck. My observation: Everything that Fred and Javier's mention is true + when you are in lead you are bound to get these stuck as sometimes you step on deceiving looking sand, that looks hard from top but super soft from below. So as soon as you step on it, you will get stuck. Sometimes in such situation, only your early action of steering down/away can help to escape such stuck. Emmanuel, please add your viewpoint as a driver in case we have missed any.
