  1. Alternatively, Pajero 4x4 system isn't rocket science tbh. Paying 2400 labor is still obscene. Though you have this diagnosis now, why dont you google a few Pajero or Mitsubishi Garages and ask them to quote you if you bring all these OEM parts from habtoor? You can easily filter garages based on reviews and ratings these days. My generous bet would be close to 500 dhs on the outside garage for the labor.
  2. Please go through the Carnity Grading structure, to keep you and your vehicle safe: https://carnity.com/forums/topic/16479-off-road-club-grading-structure-v30/
  3. I recently encountered, a super decorated "Pajero only specialist" who couldn't run the diagnostic and charged me for a useless report showing - "Not equipped" in all areas. And to end the debate he claimed, changed the Transmission as that's the only way to resolve the issue. Central diff lock blinking light also appears if low on fluid, when it can't engage fully. Have you checked the differential fluid? As a first step, better to replace if in doubt as it's a healthy and low-cost fix to refresh the fluid. Could you check all connectors that come on top of the transmission housing? Do you know if the guy checked with the computer diagnostic tool to show the relevant fault code to suggest changing the whole transfer case?

  10. Yes, 250k is a bit higher if you plan to use this car for off-road but if the car is very well maintained, then it should be fine too. It all depends on the car's current condition as Xterra is amazing for off-road, so you can't go wrong with that choice. If this one isn't perfect, don't push too hard as in the next 3-4 months you will get many sweet deals as all off-road toys drop value during summer months. Look for noticeable bend or marking on bash plate, that itself can reveal lot of history. If it's spotless, then surely it isn't driven much or too hard while off-road. Look for sand under the carpet area (driver seat, boot), buttons, knobs, shifter lever, engine bay inside fuse box etc. If sand is present on these difficult to reach area, then it has spent lot of time in sand vs few drives as advertised.
  11. Do you really want to spend that money on 07 Pathfinder? Reason, I am asking that is because I haven't seen single of those models lasting more than 1 or 2 seasons in offroad. Simply because the approach and departure angle aren't the best, even after you trim the bumper or lift. Maybe I am wrong here, but if you have tested the car off-road extensively and yes it is proven to be the love of your life to be a worthy desert toy, then only it's worth spending on diff-lock. Secondly, rear diff-lock is good to have off-road recovery tool, but it's not a deal breaker as you will always have someone to help with a quick pull-out when you are off-roading. If you are into, solo adventure, then it's totally worth-it.
  12. If you still have the old clutch, you can get it direct by any lathe shop by locking it together with 4 nuts & bolts, so that it runs at 1:1 speed and will prevent overheating when stationary. Downside: It will be a little noisy, and sip little extra (about 5%) fuel, with little loss of HP (5-10 hp). For road use, you will hardly feel anything. When summer passes by go back new clutch fan after October. This will be cheapest and sure shot solution, rather than 3 core radiator, because with bigger radiator you need powerful fan to get that extra fluid cool down faster. The second easy solution is to have an aux 11-12 inch Spal (heavy duty - 4-inch thick motor) fan on the AC condenser, next to AC fan, and wire it to work on demand, when stationery it will help push more air and also cool down your AC temp to 5-7 degree at vent when it's 40+ outside. P.S. All the above advice applies when the car engine does not have any other issue.

  19. Learn offroading from Youtube or Instagram videos - "ONLY" People buying 4x4 think they are entitled to drive on sand without an understanding of how vehicle dynamics or weight distribution works in the sand. Answer: Too fast for crisis-crossing without managing the weight distribution correctly. Wish there was a real video than a hand movement explanation to really help.
  20. Also, the above parts changed were OEM or performance or fake, as fake aftermarket parts will not work much during peak summer heat on high mileage vehicles that have clocked 400+K. Check the air circulation in front of grill and move away any modification or obstruction from front grill. Even small obstructions can cause big problems, I faced one very recently, simply by oversight. Check AC condenser fins aren't bent or dirty, if blocked, get a good pressure wash of AC condenser and radiator, that helps most of the time, as a first step to identify the root cause. If you are using Mitsubishi 50/50 coolant, you can try 30/70 coolant (it's a special order, almost the same price) but has more water that helps dissipate heat better.
  21. I agree with Fredy, if needed you can sell Prado to buy something newer for road or daily comfort with the listed features. And get the Wrangler fixed as it's one of the best offorader from the factory floor, you can safely use that for off-road adventure, be it twice a year or twice a month (after you taste your first true desert adventure). On a side note, if you are mentally sold for pickup, no harm, but remember you can't use privately owned pickup for commercial jobs - better check that point with RTA or dealership.
  22. Still, Armada isn't ideal due to its old age and poor build quality, it will be a money pit to maintain such a car for road use, let alone for offroading. That's why its resale value is so low. If 7 seater is a must-have, then LWB Pajero, Prado and older Land Cruiser 100 are much safer options.
  23. Why don't you get them to write in an email if the side airbag gets deployed "without an accident" will they cover this in the warranty? Now they will help you with all the support, data, and spec sheet you might need.
  24. Armada were made in US in that era and falls apart after 5-10 years of use. If you have one already then they are fine as a forceful offroad toy, but for buying one as a dedicated offroader, I wouldn't vote. Apart from build quality and electric issues, being extra big and heavy will limit you offroad adventure after 5 drives.
