Since your car is 8 years old, i would suggest you to ge it repalced from outside local workshop. Your dealer will charge you hell lot of money as your warranty must have been expired.

well, yes you have to pay for the test if your car is notunder warranty. If your car is under warranty, then your dealer can diagnose it without any labor charge. But if there is any replacement required, it will not be covered in your warranty. I would suggest you that is your car warranty is expired, you better go to the local workshop as it will be way cheaper for you than getting it diagnosed from your dealer.
