Dragon Mart for me is the best place. Alternatively, you can check in ACE as well.

Toyota FJ Cruiser Base plate / Skid plate need
Srikumar replied to Biju Abdul's topic in Toyota FJ Cruiser Forum in UAE
It's over specified but it will be fine if you already ordered it -
As we are nearing the weekend, I have prepared the plan and what to expect: PREPARATION FOR THE DRIVE AND WHAT TO EXPECT 1) Please ensure that you reach the meeting point on time, i.e., 5:00 AM sharp. If you are late, you would be left behind. 2) Convoy numbering would be posted after 6 pm on Thursday. 3) Please spend 15 minutes to go through the Absolute Newbie briefing Video. This would help you prepare for your offroad trip. 4) Once you reach the meeting point, please turn on your radios. We will be using Carnity Channel 2 tomorrow. (446.03125 Mhz). The instructions to program the radio are provided in the below post 5) All traction controls, ABS and Air bags need to be switched off. If it requires pulling the fuse, please do the needful. Incase of any queries you can always ask the senior members. 6) Deflate to 15 psi for Highway Thread Tyres. For Offroad or All terrain tyres you can deflate to 13 psi. 7) Feel free to ask questions on the radio or announce if you have a problem. We shall be starting the drive close to 2nd December Cafeteria, and enter the desert through some nice easy tracks and dunes so that you can get familiar with your vehicle. As the convoy's confidence increases I shall be gradually increasing the level of the drive keeping in mind everyone's comfort level. With the nice convoy that has been lined up, my plan is to get everyone to some of the higher dunes in this area. We will be driving for about 3 hours, practice driving in some lovely red sand, proper steering control, crossing dunes, and getting you and your vehicle accustomed to off-roading in general. By 08:30 we will be heading out, where you can inflate the tyres with your compressor. As we would not be exiting close to a gas station, please ensure that you have your own compressor. See you on the sand this Friday.

Toyota FJ Cruiser Base plate / Skid plate need
Srikumar replied to Biju Abdul's topic in Toyota FJ Cruiser Forum in UAE
@Biju Abdul as mentioned by everyone driving without a skid plate is something not recommended. You can make an aftermarket one of 6 or 8mm of steel or aluminium. @Asif Hussain please advise. 10 mm is an overkill in my opinion. Make sure to cut some vents similar to your current skid plate. This is to allow the hot air from the engine bay to escape and helps prevent overheating. -
@asifk I have seen a few Pajero offroaders that have used a U-Bolt type of system mounted on the rails. So you will use a U-bolt with an attachment similar in the below amazon listing: https://www.amazon.ae/Antenna-Mount-Bracket-Jeep-Wrangler/dp/B07NVSLRWG/ref=asc_df_B07NVSLRWG/?tag=googleshopp09-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=355845872598&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=106438847774670512&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1000013&hvtargid=pla-767810469540&psc=1 Alternative is that you could drill a hole on the metal located between the rear door and the spare tyre and then mount the flag. I will see if I have a picture somewhere

Hi Dagdag, Thanks for the update. You can alternatively get the shovel in Speedex as well. I think it costs AED 39. Even though we all carry shovels, you will really value it in the event that you are stuck and need to help one of the senior members to dig your self out. See you on Friday.

I thought you loved the Big Blue, else I was also inclined to state a new car. Hey it's your birthday, you can put your wishlist here. I am sure Freddy would comply very soon.

Best wishes for the day and year ahead. Hope @Frederic is getting you something special like a New Winch

@Dagdag Sofiane @Tamas Hoffmann @Aayan Iqbal @Probir Mukherjee @Ajiesh George Kannankara As some of you would be joining us for the first time after last week's Absolute Newbie Drive, please ensure that you have the following for this weekend's drive. 1. Deflator 2. Tyre Pressure Gauge 3. Flag 4. Radio (buy the one's with a display as they are easy to program) 5. Compressor (as we would not be exiting near a gas station) 6. Shovel (Do not buy the foldable ones) - You get good deals at Speedex and Sharjah Industrial area. Ace is another option but probably more expensive. The below thread mentions where you can get the above items. For programming the radio, please go through the below post which contains a video demonstration on how the programming is to be done. You will need to program all the 5 Carnity Frequencies on the radio. Please program in advance during the week and not before the drive as that would make the entire convoy wait. If there are any queries or questions please post them on this drive or on the above mentioned topics and we would definitely assist you.

Jeep Liberty off-roading advise needed
Srikumar replied to Juan Carlos Elizalde Reyes's topic in Jeep Liberty Forum in UAE
@Juan Carlos Elizalde Reyes you can see the comments of AKR in the below thread. After changing the O2 sensor it made a big difference. Also, you need to change your tyres and while you are at it, I might suggest to look some better brand of tyres like Yokohama AT or Michellin. -
