  1. No it’s not JDM. It’s crappier. And my mind is still blown how anyone came up with idea. There must have been a lot of ganja smoked the night they came up with it.
  2. Hint - it’s not a Lamborghini
  3. Try hitting the dashboard and the plastics around the key when you’re trying to start it. As far as I know the power for the immobiliser comes from either the wiper switch or the light switch and the wire may be loose. Might not work but it’s worth a go.
  4. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-44511200 I can’t help but feel that this is only news because it’s a Tesla. Thousands of cars have accidents, catch fire, are involved in deaths etc every day but you never hear about it yet every time it’s a Tesla, the news is everywhere.
  5. My house was built at the bottom of an old ice age glacier so there was a massive sand pit maybe 1000 metres up in the mountain. Not many people knew about it because it was so isolated but some of the old school guys used to come up with horse and cart and dig out sand to make cement. It was a great place for rabbits so we used to go up sometimes and shoot a few for lunch. We all had bikes so we used to see who could race the furthest up the sand slope without falling off. Anyway, this one guy was with us before. Same guy as last time. There was an old atlas digger abandoned in the pit so we fired it up and made a few jumps for the bikes. This guy jammed the throttle wide open and set the digger to spin at full speed so nobody could get into it and switch it off. The digger ran for 3 days straight until the diesel was almost gone and the owner discovered it. He cursed us up and down and told the whole village how his digger ran until the manifolds were red hot.
  6. Eid Mubarak. May everyone who fasted receive their just rewards
  7. I stand by my comment. It was showing an indicated 100 mph on the clocks. Ok, so maybe with adjustment it might be 90 mph but trust me, my granny beat my ass with a stick so hard that I am still traumatised to this day.
  8. Well you all know from my first post. I grew up in the mountains. There wasn’t much to do. At the weekends we would all put our money together and buy a scrap car and rally it until it died. There was this one mountain road many people used to rally scrap cars on. Google Benbradagh army base if you’re interested. It was a single track road but it was tarmaced. There were no houses on the road so it was a 2-3 mile stretch people could go and have fun with no worry of police coming. I had been going there for years. Never had any trouble. I was like 14-15 at the time. One weekend we bought a Lada Riva for £50 (250 dhs). Brought it to my dads shed and welded the diff so it was a drift machine. My granny beat my ass for driving past her house at 160kph but that’s a different story. Anyway, this road was open and always empty so everyone went there to have some fun at the weekend. We decided to bring this one guy with us one weekend. He paid his £10 share. When it was his turn to drive, he veered off the road at every opportunity and smashed every farmers fancy wooden gate. This incident lead to the whole road being blocked off by a massive steel barrier at the bottom. That guy hecked up fun for a hundred young petrol heads in my area. I will tell the digger story at a later date. Needless to say he was ostracised and ignored and had to move to the city.
  9. How do you know there’s a problem with the crankshaft?
  10. Got any contact numbers for them?
  11. I stopped working professionally as a tech around a year ago and I’m working in a different field now. These days I just look after a handful of cars for my employer and workmates. I haven’t really got time to get too deep into fixing other people’s cars so I just give advice when possible.
  12. Sure I’m up for it after Eid. We’ll get some of that special green tea from Unisat and have a strip down session. Will be a good learning experience for Gaurav bhai.
  13. You can buy scratch removal kits and if used properly, they do work but it’s a lot of effort. Windscreens are easy to replace anyway with minimal tools if you have a bit of know how.
  14. I would love to see some post mortem pics of the old engine, specifically the crankshaft, bearing caps and bearings. From the video I saw I heard the rods knocking but I’ve read the top end was also making noises? Usually if there is a loss of oil pressure bad enough to affect the top end, the oil warning light will illuminate. If I had time and space I’d love to take the job on. Sounds like a crank regrind and a set of oversize bearings, maybe a set of rods if the bearings spun would fix it but without seeing inside and doing some measuring it’s pure speculation.
  15. I have no qualms about using reconditioned airbags and I’ve used them many times with no ill consequences. After all, it’s just a series of moving parts. You wouldn’t thing twice about changing a set of brushes or a solenoid on a starter motor. Buying a new unit would be ideal for me to swap out but it’s an older supercar so it’s extremely cost prohibitive, hence looking for someone who can repair it.
  16. Anyone got a reliable supplier who can refurb a suspension airbag?

Leo is Norwegian. I used to like his covers. But after you hear 2,3-4 there is no originality. Everything is in the same style. Faux metal with distorted guitars and trying to growl instead of singing. If you want to hear a good cover musician check this guy out
  18. A coil issue might show up on idle but generally, the main sign is you will notice a misfire or stuttering on acceleration. On the Pajero, you can reach under the right side of the inlet manifold (when looking from the front) and disconnect the leads and see which cylinder the problem is on. I recommend finding a proper mechanic who has a proper computer that can read live data that shows cylinder firing and you will soon see where the problem lies. there are too many mechanics here who just plug a computer in and see data and have no understanding of how to interpret it if no fault codes are logged.
  19. Laugh all you want, the truth is these old cars are soaring in value. Remember the Austin Allegro? Complete pile of steaming dung when it was new but now surviving examples in the retro market, a basic POS costs £1,500 (7,500 dhs). http://forum.retro-rides.org/thread/204576/austin-allegro-super-ripley-derbyshire I won't even get into old Ford Escorts costing £20-30k (100-150k dhs). Is it time to stockpile Nissan Tiidas?

    New music

I have been waiting for this album to come out for a while. It's called Prequelle by a Swedish band called Ghost. It's not very often in life you get to see true stars in the making and when you do, it's something special you will always remember and look back and say I was there. Ghost were always a decent band with their own style but something was always holding them back. They have really found their feet on this album and I have a feeling they are going to blow up big. The new album is a mix of 70s, 80s, 90s rock with a touch of Ghosts own dark gothic style thrown in. There really is no other band to compare them to. I got the album last week as soon as it was released and have listened to nothing else since apart from one of their older EPs for comparison sake and I can confirm it is gold. All killer, no filler. Aside from their new songs, I particularly loved the cover of The Petshop Boys-It's a Sin at the end. It just sums up Ghosts style perfectly.
  21. I’ve been working for Audi all this week. They had this beauty on display in the showroom. It’s a 1968 Audi 60. Unrestored, original condition. The best part about it? The smell inside. If you’ve ever smelt an old car you will know. The build quality was amazing. Way ahead of what most other manufacturers were producing at that time.
  22. Imam Ali 0503068495 Pajero scrap king. He had some second hand metal bumpers last time I was there.
  23. @Gaurav do you have Imam Ali’s number? He had some.
  24. Tesla are working on developing a new app where you point your phone camera around the car and it will map it and pinpoint the noise. Let’s see what happens. Until then it’s just going to take some good old fashioned detective work and a bit of gumption to find where the noise is coming from.
  25. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-44320696 I used to watch Top Gear religiously when the holy trinity were presenting. After they left, we were left with the abomination hosted by Chris Evans. I watched one show and it was cringeworthy. He did the decent thing and left Matt to present. I don’t watch anymore, just a random episode here and there but I feel that TG has lost the only thing they had going for it.
