Never heard of this vehicle before, maybe one for the vehicles not sold in UAE thread? Also didn't realize Force were a proper vehicle manufacturer but I had heard of the Force India F1 team. Quick look at the specs and it isn't so impressive. I guess it's comparable to the similar Mahindra model but with slightly less power and better looks. Torque v HP ratio seems pretty respectable but as it's a diesel, it's to be expected. I imagine it would make a better tow car than dune basher. Still, a pretty cool looking 4x4. 4 cylinder common rail turbo diesel 2596 cc 85 hp @ 3200 rpm 230 nm @ 1400-2400 rpm 5 speed manual Selectable 4x4 with hi low Fully floating front axle, live rear axle Discs on the front, drums on the rear

You are not alone. I've been spending every free minute I have looking through old threads. No doubt the prize will go to some newbie who discovers it on his first visit then disappears without contributing anything to the site.

I don't usually like posting YouTube videos but this one is worth a watch. I always wonder why we don't see more crazy stuff like this in the desert. After all, UAE, especially Dubai is the king of richness and excess. I wont comment too much on these vehicles as I'd end up writing a full degree level essay but the Tatra was always a favourite of mine. Truck trials on Eurosport channel on Saturday morning as a child, right after Dukes of Hazzard, right before the BTCC race. Motorsport isn't covered enough here. Sure it's everywhere, Liwa, Sand drags, even the Autodrome, but you won't find it unless you look for it. Motorsport should be in your face. It doesn't get the coverage it deserves. I guess I hanker for the old days where Group B was king.

Off-road advice for the first time
Barry replied to BENNY THOMAS's topic in Jeep Grand Cherokee Forum in UAE
My advice, there’s a lot of good advice offered here, heed it. Secondly dont get cocky. Start slow and work your way up. Lastly, it’s ok to get scared. Sometimes it’s better to go around than over but once you face your fears and build your confidence up, you’ll be ready to tackle anything whatever your car can handle. -
Depends which aftermarket hoses you buy. If you buy cheap Chinese ones they might last a few years. If buy from somewhere like Samco, the hoses will be 10 times better than original Honda ones.

why is the blower working but not cooling in my BMW
Barry replied to tushar's topic in BMW X Series Forum in UAE
Honestly, I only have 2 years experience in AC. I'm from a cold country where it isn't needed but when I came here I had to learn fast. Read the workshop manual, stick to original manufacturers specifications and you can't go wrong. 9 times out of 10 the required weight of gas and volume of oil are printed under the bonnet. Adding oil with UV dye can help find leaks. If you have a machine, even better. Just connect the hoses, input the amounts and hit start. Some machines even have a facility to select make, model and year and are fully automatic. Machines are so cheap now that nobody should be using a manifold and a gas bottle. But in saying that, the manifold is a very helpful tool for troubleshooting. -
why is the blower working but not cooling in my BMW
Barry replied to tushar's topic in BMW X Series Forum in UAE
Original gas? 🤔 There are only really 2 types of gas used in car AC systems. R134 and R12 (Freon). Manufacturers stopped using R12 in 1995 because it is proven to damage the ozone layer. In saying this, there may or may not be some unscrupulous mechanics out there who think they know better than the engineers who designed the system and try to use Freon in R134 systems because “it runs colder” but the truth of the matter is the system wasn’t designed to run on it and it can cause problems, never mind the environmental factors. There’s also a chance they may be using R22 or R410 which is designed for home AC systems. If a vehicle is post 1995 and a mechanic suggests anything other than R134, it’s time to find a more knowledgeable mechanic. -
The first comment was made by me advising someone on their exhausts. I was advising umar on exhausts I deserve to win this I've been advising Carnity for free for months I'm spending all my spare cash covering for my ex employer who screwed me

What’s your opinion on the new Judas Priest album? Ive been a Judas Priest fan for years, I’d rate it 8/10. Ultra heavy but with flaws. Elements of Jugulator mixed with Defenders of the faith. It’s no painkiller but still better than their last album. Still takes all the new metalcore my first rock bands back to school. I’m sad that KK and Glenn have now left the band. For me, the dual guitar attack of KK and Glenn is what made Priest. Even when Rob left and Tim stepped in, KK and Glenn’s guitars kept the band going. Now that the 2 of them have left, perhaps it’s time for Priest to bow out and retire gracefully on this high note. Nobody wants a Judas Priest tribute band.

Agree with Gaurav. Thule is a high end European brand with zero quality issues.

Do you want roof or tailgate mounted? I’ve tried both and I’m not a fan of roof mounted. Too much noise and it affects fuel consumption.

The lighting may not be perfect in all of them but I don't believe in Photoshop. Its either a good pic or it isn't.

Any smart watch users here? What are you using and why? How does it improve your life? Ive seen a few and I’m kinda tempted but the whole daily charging thing puts me off a bit. I usually wear a simple Casio which goes all year long. Can wear constantly even in the shower. Also have a Rolex submariner but tbh I wear it once a month at most on special occasions and because it’s automatic, it means spending 10-15 minutes winding the date forward every time so I’m really fed up with it and I’ll probably sell it soon. The dealer advised me against using an automatic winder as it will wear it out and devalue it.

I’m dreaming of LS400s. They’re dirt cheap now and offer a decent level of luxury and seem to run forever. https://dubai.dubizzle .com/m/motors/used-cars/lexus/ls-series/2018/3/20/lexus-ls400-1999-full-option-good-conditio-2/?from_search=&back=L20vc2VhcmNoL2pzLz9pc19iYXNpY19zZWFyY2hfd2lkZ2V0PTAmc2l0ZT0tLSZzPU1UJnJjPTE0MCZjMT0xNDE1JmMyPTE0MTkma2V5d29yZHM9THM0MDAmcHJpY2VfX2d0ZT0mcHJpY2VfX2x0ZT0meWVhcl9fZ3RlPSZ5ZWFyX19sdGU9MjAxOCZraWxvbWV0ZXJzX19ndGU9JmtpbG9tZXRlcnNfX2x0ZT0mc2VsbGVyX3R5cGU9JmlzX3NlYXJjaD0x

I used to watch everybody loves Raymond in the mornings before I went to work back home. There was always a double episode on the tv. Good show Ive started watching the good doctor now, the new one, not the original Korean version. It’s about a doctor who is amazing and offends people with his honesty in equal parts. It’s a good watch, provokes the emotions. But tbh, my attention span is really short and I find it hard to get into series. I watched Coco tonight. It’s an animated movie based around Mexico and the day of the dead and a young musician trying to trace his family tree. I’m not usually into animated stuff but the Wife suggested it and I wasn’t disappointed. Also recently rewatched gran Torino. I’m a big Clint Eastwood fan so I may be biased but it was a solid 9.5. Story about a grumpy old vietnam vet who catches a young Hmong kid trying to steal his gran Torino. Instead of shooting him he takes him under his wing and becomes friends with his family and saves them from a whole lot of trouble.

I don't like to tie myself to genres. I'm game for watching anything within reason as long as it isn't crap. Movies and series included. Just finished watching Breaking Bad with the wife. It's the third time I've seen it but her first. After watching something like that, where do you go? I've tried showing her a few series including Better Call Saul but once you've seen Breaking Bad, it's hard to find something that will drag you in and suck your life away in the same way. Recently watched Battle Royale 1 and 2. Maybe my 5th or 6h time. Anyone who says the hunger games is original is a liar. Takeshi Katano is a beautiful actor and the story is original.

Waiting for parts. Which suits me because I'm too busy with work at the minute.

Anyone got any movies they recommend watching? Just finished watching Crossroads. The 1986 movie, not the Britney Spears abomination. It's a story about a classically trained guitarist who wants to learn the blues and seeks out an old blues player who sold his soul to the devil years ago. Culminates in an epic guitar battle between the karate kid, yes the karate kid, and the one and only Steve Vai. As a guitarist, I enjoyed every minute of it.

New addition to the car family - finally
Barry replied to Gaurav's topic in Range Rover Forum in UAE
Wow. It a beauty. I could never keep a light coloured interior, it would be ruined in a week. With regards to the pulley question, I’ve seen that some people have reported 650bhp, although a remap to suit would help. -
50mm is a pretty big spacer. At that size, it would need to be hubcentric and even at that, it would need to be really well made as to not introduce vibration. Something to be aware of is that if you wildly space the wheels, any wheel or tyre defects or balancing issues will be greatly amplified and running with vibration long term can cause damage to wheel bearings, halfshafts and ABS sensors.

Just because there’s no external leaks doesn’t mean there are no internal leaks. Weak head gasket, valve stem oil seals, piston rings, cracks in the block or head can leak oil into the combustion chamber and see it burnt off. Any blue smoke from the exhaust? Weak head gasket, cracked block or head will smoke all the time. Valve stem oil seals will cause smoke on startup and overrun. Faulty piston rings will smoke on acceleration. In saying all this, some of the modern engines from VW and Toyota can burn oil at an alarming rate with no visible smoke. But, if you see smoke and recognise when it’s happening, it helps in the diagnostic process.
