Mohamed Seidam has been promoted to fewbie level
Rahimdad replied to Gaurav's topic in Off-Road Club's Announcements
Well said @Mohamed Seidam. Really well deserved promotion, congratulations. I have seen many people come and make suggestions without realizing how busy we all get with our daily work and weekends in the desert. I appreciate that you took the initiative after making a suggestion and it is now one of the most popular threads. I anxiously wait for new videos to be posted on it every week to learn from what is being done on all the different drives we have at different levels. I do feel so many people record these moments or have the opportunity to do so and wish for more contributions and like minded people to access and understand how we handle different recoveries. Thank you for taking the time and effort to post such gems. -
Tbone has been promoted to Advance level
Rahimdad replied to Gaurav's topic in Off-Road Club's Announcements
Well deserved promotion. Congratulations @Tbone. I knew in the first few drives that you would reach higher levels due to your curiosity. Love people who ask questions and question everything, which shows ones interest in the subject. Off roading has many chapters and you have successfully reached the most interesting part. Enjoy hardcore learning. -
That's 1 accident every year. The years he did not have an accident was well compensated for in other years. One he'll of a driver, attracts collisions.

Well deserved promotion @Shiju Manuel. Looking forward to driving along side you soon. Congratulations. -
Your passion for F1 is amazing. Thank you for keeping us posted. If you want to be a Marshal at F1 event in Abu Dhabi you can register yourself at the EMSF (Emirates Motor Sports Federation) in Mandar area. They will email you asking for support at the F1 event. You'll have to spend 6 weeks, once every week training and you'll be handed over your responsibility at the track. It gets very loud on the track, but the part of the track you're assigned to gets you really close in on the action.

Kalahari has been promoted to Advance level
Rahimdad replied to Gaurav's topic in Off-Road Club's Announcements
Well deserved @Kalahari, congratulations. South Africans seem to have a liking for off roading with a lot of respect for nature. I saw this traits in you from your very first drive. So proud to see this day when you have been rightly promoted to Advanced level. Can't wait to drive behind you and support your drives shortly. -
I guess classic plates apply only in Sharjah. Definitely the cost of registering them is more and you can only drive it on certain days. It cannot serve as your daily driver. Only the driver would know the reason for it not being crowned with a classic number plate, but these are my guesses.

@Ashok chaturvedi. Never say never. I have seen people learn faster with less powerful cars. You'll only do better when you get more power under the hood. Keep you basics strong and keep learning the techniques. @Jolly Abraham with his 2.7 litre 4 cylinder Fortuner has taught me how much you can achieve with a moderately powerful car.

Well deserved promotion. Congratulations @Vanessa8580. I have always dreamt of the day when Carnity would have lady enthusiastic drivers. I'm so proud that today I'm biting my nails to see which one of you would make it to Marshal status first. Your energy levels for me is a blessing on our drives. I've seen you jump on any occasion to help out, are the first one on the sceen and ready with available equipment to help. You make @Frederic look second best. So happy to see you get promoted. -

Rahimdad replied to Gaurav's topic in Off-Road Club's Announcements
Congratulations Dr @Chaitanya D. Humble, polite, even asking if you can join the drive to help. Really a personality I have fallen in love with, always willing to help. This is also an excellent way to learn, because when you start helping out in different situations you end up picking up that skill. Joy to watch you in each and every drive of yours. Quietly learning and making place in eveyones heart. Well deserved promotion. -

What to do with all that junk in my trunk?
Rahimdad replied to Lisa Pemberton's topic in Off-Road Club's Discussions
Although I use a web net I bought from Ace hardware, I have a friend who packed everything in one of his old working suitcase. He took it to a mechanic and screwed the suitcase to the floor of the boot. That seemed to hold everything in place. I so wanted to create a custom box with labelled draws for everything, but the cost, weight and space it would take up got me to think again. As for the radio, cup holder is normally a very good fit in my Pathy. -
Every off-roader must know: What Went Wrong?
Rahimdad replied to Rahimdad's topic in Off-Road Club's Discussions
Thank you @J J and @Asif Hussain for posting some very valuable videos in order to learn from these mishaps. I think everybody knows the main reasons for the flip, thanks to a very decisive approach by @Carnity to have a structure and teach people slowly and steadily their capability, vehicle capability and understanding the dynamics of each vehicle. On @J J video all I can say I'd fish tailing. When your vehicle is fish tailing to the left, steer left. This could have been avoided if he steer to the left. The left back side of the car got pulled by gravity and he failed to steer the car to the left. A little extra throttle to correct the trajectory of the car could have also helped with correct steering. Knowing the basics is one thing, but practicing these during every drive to know your vehicle dynamics and these principles become a part of your every day drive. @Asif Hussain bhai video, sand reading and knowing when to and when not to do certain manoeuvres are critical. If the driver understood the correct way of criss crossing he would never attempt it on such a sharp ridge at such high speed. The car literally jumped to the other side with the right front tire getting caught by sand while the rest of the car momentum continued to result in a roll over. Never a good sight to see these accidents, not only it dents the car, but also the owners pocket and their confidence. Thus whenever attempting such manoeuvres the trip lead always goes first and advises the others the dangers in @Carnity. -
Hi @Lisa Pemberton and @Islam Soliman. I will be getting more stock within this week and can hand it over. Will let you know once I have them ready. @Islam Soliman Really sorry to hear about your air bags deploying. Really sad that these cars have the off road gear, but programming is for an on-road vehicle.

Greetings all, I’m new to the Forum and off roading
Rahimdad replied to Abu Muhammad's topic in Introduce Yourself
@Abu Muhammad I am really glad to have to know you and your Sequoia first. Really love your calmness and willingness to learn. I'm sure you'll enjoy off-roading in the safety of Carnity experts. -
The trip through my eyes. Started a bit early to make it ahead of time, with Sharjah Police closing my route I had to go to Qusais to turn around and just made it on time. As soon as I stepped out of the car I was pleasantly greeted by a cool breeze. After a quick deflation and briefing we set off. What seemed to be just a boring drive like one of mine, it quickly changed to more challenging and hitting every play area I can think off. One thing I relearned today was thanks to @Ammar Naji. As he was crested and had this obsession with having a couple of wooden planks to make out of the stuck. We tried it out and definitely didn't work out just like our experiment a couple of years back with the recovery track boards. After digging in the right spots though we were able to drive right out and we decided to call that spot the Salik gate for Maliha. All proceeds will be directly sent to @Ammar Naji for his thoughtful easy access through a sharp crest. I was pleasantly surprised to see everyone manage the sideys with so much ease. Everyone had a wonderful control on throttle steering and brakes during these attempts. Except for @Syed Raza Hussain who seemed to have the heavy BF Goodrich tires, but surprisingly managed well through most parts. @Kailas did wonderful at second lead, however spoke on the radio in a nice ladies voice. Seems to be a good voice artist too. @Sinol seeMe to be very comfortable at this level and it is lovely to watch him take full control of his car while off-roading. @Sajit Modiyil too has great control and seems like has done well to understand the dynamics of his vehicle. @Ashy with his JGC keeps fooling me, making me think he's @Brette, and his driving style is improving which fools me even further. Vast improvement from what I have last seen of him. @Ammar Naji is handling his Expedition better every day and I feel is very smooth in His inputs. Great way to drive a gravity magnet and really looking forward to him on drive every time. I also appreciate the child like personality where he wants to experiment and learn. Love this trait in him and more power to him every time. @Nivin seems like the pirate of the sands as he drives with the control of Jack Sparrow behind the Black Pearl. @Rizwan Waheed makes the Pajero look good with very precise manoeuvres. I'm sure lit of people will want to have a Pajero after watch his masterful style. @Syed Raza Hussain needs a few mire drives to find the optimum settings for his vehicle, but managed well throughout. @Ilya Golubinsky did fantastic with his white Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. I have to admit that the LWB makes it just a bit difficult to drive on the sands, but at no point I found him to be out of control. Fantastic control and precise steering, well done. @SureshVNair amazed me with the absolute smooth ride through today's track which tells me he's one with his vehicle and ready for the next level. Finally @Andrei with his colourful blue Jeep kept me company throughout the drive and seemed like enjoying his ride. This is only possible when you understand the dynamics of your vehicle and he has got it right and seemed relaxed at all times. Thanks @Frederic for the wonderful opportunity and I loved the second half of the drive to the extreme. My pics are posted in the Gallery, waiting for others to post their shots. https://carnity.com/gallery/category/293-newbie-mahafiz-sharjah-4-sep-2020
