  1. Cute but Furious convoy ! I knew it was gonna be fun when I saw it was gonna be small convoy and knowing we’ve never been in that specific area before. @Rafey Hashmimight label me as a positive lead but you’re definitely a super positive second lead ! Our initial struggles in where I really wanted to get to know the Jimny meant the first hour we had some good shoveling and trials and tribulations 😂. But we had plenty of time, the weather was great, and with @Shahid Mehmood, @Dan S and @Xavi Moyanoas fellow positivo’s we had great laughs and got moving eventually. The second part must have angered that car as once you were on 5-6 psi there was no stopping you. The entire convoy drove marvelously and we had a good uninterrupted flow which was a blessing as I could observe the clouds and the occasional fox. 🦊 I kinda forgot how much fun a small convoy can be. We didn’t pay much attention but clocked in at around 50k without too much issues. See you all soon in the sand again !
  2. Your kill switch is a good option. In the case you have a stuck scenario with front wheel like your photo, you can just turn off your kill switch and restart the car so all traction aids are activated again. Like @PETELCZYC PAJERO - luke mentioned you cannot do this with the rear diff activated.
  3. Just closed the convoy list. As it's a small convoy, we will do the numbering tomorrow. We will be using Channel 4 - 446.081 Mhz See you soon !
  4. Extremely sad to see such a capable, lovable, and warmhearted friend leaving us. You have given your best and learned so fast and became our Yalla push marshal that was always serving the best coffee and smiles. Somehow I am sure we will still meet somewhere in the sand, and no doubt if I ever see that black FJ I’ll be chasing it to give you a warm hug. Wishing you all the best my friend. Be safe and keep enjoying the beautiful deserts.
  5. If you are coming from Abu Dhabi i would assume taking the E11, followed by E14 is better. In that scenario you will have the Al Samha ADNOC on the E11.
  6. Dear Members @Xavi Moyano@Andrei S@Abhilash Kottakkal@Shahid Mehmood@Haneef Thayyil@Rafey Hashmi@Dan S Thanks for signing up ! I wanted to let you know that i've moved my meeting point just a bit further down at Faqa Truck Road itself, as this weekend there is an Dubai Baja Challenge which will mostlikely mean that many parts of Qudra and Faqa will be fenced off. New meeting point: https://maps.app.goo.gl/591afzyayHPUXmVWA See you all soon !
  7. Welcome to the forum @napsterboi ! The LC100 is indeed a fantastic 4x4. Do you have any preference for the 6 cylinder or 8 cylinder ? There are also US spec models in this country, @Zedhas one and @Wade Pat2is building one I have no immediate leads but would recommend the regular places like Dubizzle, FB Marketplace, and other sites. Be prepared to spend a bit of money to get them back in good condition because many people have driven them into the ground with minimal to no maintenance.

  10. Thank you all for joining ! The weather was pleasant and the company and food even more so ! Please do let me know which things can be improved. This was the first time we organized something like this and I’d love to repeat it this coming winter a couple more times. From my personal opinion we should perhaps try to find a more central location inbetween Abu Dhabi and Dubai / Sharjah as we have people joining in from several Emirates and it would be good if we could find a location that’s suitable for all. Perhaps also next time we can meetup a bit earlier before dark so it’s easier to set up camp 🏕️ while still having some day light. Stay tuned for more to come ! @LooperThank you so much for safely taking out the campers this morning.
  11. Absolutely ! Hi @Krishna R the meeting time is 7:30 and we will head straight to the camping point at around 7:50. I don’t advise to drive straight to the camping point yourself as it’s 6km inside the desert.

  13. What a great signup ! @Gaurav@Srikumar@Looper@Gok Krish@Mohammad Sayawoush Azad@Krishna R@Senthil Kumar@Sreenath G@Ahmad Nerat@Premjit Vappala@AlexM@sohinik@Bjoern@Ignacio Quindós@Soufiane@Abhilash Kottakkal@Jaro Tuzinsky@Ben Williams@Bhaskar Some information prior to the event: 1. This is not an off-road drive, but a sit-down session to look and listen to the Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon album together. Bring your chairs, or a beach mat if you prefer to sit in the sand. 2. The meeting time is 7.30PM. Meeting location is https://maps.app.goo.gl/AU7pE4S6kJCCp56e9 3. We will deflate to 15psi and head out together to the camping spot by 7.50PM latest. 4. Upon arrival we will park the cars 20-30m away from the actual sit-down point. 5. Setting up the gear will take about 20mins max. You can also use that time to setup your tent if you like. 6. During the duration of the album listening, please respect the people who like to pay attention by not shouting, driving around with big lights, or disturbing the event in general. The total duration of the album is 43mins. Album information The album reflects on various stages of human life, beginning and ending with a heartbeat, exploring the nature of the human experience and, according to Roger Waters, "empathy". Below the playlist of the album. The visuals are taken from Live concerts in 1974 Wembley and combined with more contemporary visuals. 1. Breathe. 2. Speak to me. "Speak to Me" and "Breathe" together highlight the mundane and futile elements of life that accompany the ever-present threat of madness, and the importance of living one's own life – "Don't be afraid to care". 2. On the Run. By shifting the scene to an airport, the synthesiser-driven instrumental "On the Run" evokes the stress and anxiety of modern travel, in particular Wright's fear of flying. 3. Time. "Time" examines the manner in which its passage can control one's life and offers a stark warning to those who remain focused on mundane pursuits; 4. The Great Gig In The Sky. The first side of the album ends with Wright and vocalist Clare Torry's soulful metaphor for death, "The Great Gig in the Sky". 5. Money. The first track on side two, opens with the sound of cash registers and rhytmical jingling coins. The song mocks greed and consumerism with sarcastic lyrics and cash-related sound effects. "Money" became the band's most commercially successful track and was covered by many other artists. 6. Us and Them. "Us and Them" addresses the isolation of the depressed with the symbolism of conflict and the use of simple dichotomies to describe personal relationships. 7. Any Colour You Like. "Any Colour You Like" tackles the illusion of choice one has in society. 8. Brain Damage. "Brain Damage" looks at mental illness resulting from the elevation of fame and success above the needs of the self; in particular, the line "and if the band you're in starts playing different tunes" reflects the mental breakdown of former bandmate Syd Barrett. 9. Eclipse. The album ends with "Eclipse", which espouses the concepts of otherness and unity, while encouraging the listener to recognize the common traits shared by humanity. 14. To all the ones waitlisted (my apologies for the one drive per rsvp mishap), you can be sure of a spot on this event, as it’s not an off-road drive hence it’s not limited.
