Drive Report Upon my arrival at the meeting point this morning i was greeted by a nice pond in front of us, where we used to have the official meeting point. Thanks to @M.Seidam his information, we lined up along the cycle track and once deflated, headed into the dirt track from where we did the briefing. The sand was maybe forgiving today, but honestly you guys and gals rocked ! Your enthusiasm and willingness to help others was spot on and that's what we love so much about these drives. A few highlights: - @Faiz Amir who brought the humongous Armada, was perfect as second lead. There was one hiccup where i crossed a dune and descended into a very rocky area, and thanks to him he did not follow and listened to my instructions perfectly and swift. - @Ayman Alqwasmi who took the challenge of bringing the Koleos, accepted the challenge with bravoure and drove excellent ! - @Yasirimam who was always immediately out and about to share his compressor, and help with the small inflation issue on @Jessica Lambert, you are a fantastic team player and i look forward driving with you again ! - @Mahmoud Taha Driving the Xterra without apprehension, they are fantastic offroad vehicles and you will surely get the best out of it. - The boys and girls towards the center and back, @Jessica Lambert @Thian @Simon Innes @Saleh Kuba @Beide Worku @Yesu Yarlagadda you all drove superb today, i hope you had a good time ! If you have photos to share, please feel welcome to put them in our gallery: Absolute Newbie - Al Qudra - Dubai - 9 Jan 2022 - Carnity.com Thanks to @Rizwanm2 for his great support ! PS @Jessica Lambert your Motorola radio will be useful for our Carnity Channels 1 till 4 (on your radio these will be 1,3,5,7) but you will need a radio that allows you to program all our channels. You will find a topic on that below: A Baofeng UV5r will only set you back 75dhs and could be your perfect backup in case we are using channels 5 till 10 on any of the drives. Moving forward you all will be joining the Newbie drives and not an Absolute Newbie drive anymore. Drives are announced every Monday at 11am, and they go live on Monday evening at 7pm. Due to the high demand, these drives get full in about 10 minutes, so please be online at 7 pm to book your spot. If you miss a spot, put your name on the waitlist asap. Generally, by Thursday with dropouts everyone does get a spot if they have waitlisted. For the next drives, please bring along a deflator, pressure gauge, flag, compressor and radio as a MANDATORY requirement. These are very costly installations. Companies like ARB usually sell these. but you'll be easily at 6000AED to get it installed and working with compressor, piping, and the lockers itself + modifying the rear diff. For daily driver who needs these ? - Bluetooth (you can easily install after market radio with Bluetooth and apple carplay - Fog lights (in UAE, hardly ever used)
-
Looks like a very decent, and non-abused Xterra, could be your perfect offroader ! The standard model is totally fine, it does not come with a rear diff lock but that is not the end of the world, as many 4x4s dont have that anyways. I am not familiar with the current prices, i am sure other Xterra owners will chip in with more information.

Hi @Yasirimam Please have a look at below post: Recommended models, and these are also the models where we have the programming instructions for: - Motorola or Crony MT777 (+/- 150 dhs) - Baofeng UV5R (+/- 75 dhs) Both available in Dragon Mart.

Marjan, from the day you joined us, i have always remembered your perseverance and skills. Your drive leads have been impeccable, and you have supported numerous convoys and was a trusty companion within each position of the convoy. We always had great laughs, and you allowed me to brush up on my mother tongue regularly, so we could align with each other better at times. You will be sorely missed, and i hope you keep your TJ roaring in the sand, because that's what it's made for. I understand your reason for leaving and fully respect it. As much as we all have the passion to keep moving forward with the club, on each higher step on the ladder there comes more chores, demands, and rules along with it, and might take away the initial fun of hitting the sand. Carnity has been growing so extremely fast that we sometimes forget to clear our heads and just enjoy the ride. Take care and hope to see you in the sands nearby !

Farewell from Carnity
Frederic replied to Lorenzo Candelpergher's topic in Off-Road Club's Announcements
Wishing you all the best Lorenzo. Thanks for contributing and creating drives and events that people always loved and were managed perfectly. Take care ! -
Good morning and a warm welcome to all new joiners to this club ! @Rasif ABDUL RAHIM@Faiz Amir@Ayman Alqwasmi@Yesu Yarlagadda@Beide Worku@Saleh Kuba@mohammad adil khan@Simon Innes@Thian Great to see so many of you signing up for your first drive. As a basic introduction, kindly reply to the following: 1) which 4x4 are you bringing ? 2) Do you have prior offroading experience ? If so please clarify 3) Does your vehicle have front and back towpoints ? This is mandatory before being eligible to join. Tools Needed For your very first drive with us, we would like to ask you to bring a pressure gauge, deflator tool, and a compressor to inflate your tyres after the drive. (the one near the gas station is usually defective). The next tools you will be needing from second drive onwards, are a walkie-talkie, offroad flag, and a decent shovel. If by any chance you have these tools already you are of course welcome to bring them along on your first drive. @Eduardo sos as per our records you have completed this Absolute Newbie drive before, so you will need to sign out, and get into one of the Newbie level drives for this weekend. Thanks.
