  1. Omg 😱 yeah thats worth gold by now. I was so stupid to sell my 1960 cuz it was parked in my father in laws garage and he kept nagging my head off that that piece of junk needed to go. He became my ex-father in law eventually 🤨 Looks pretty good at first sight. But might be a whole other story from close by 😀
  2. A bit ironic because my "pepe" or grandfather drove this one on Sundays. He sold it when i was 16 to a young guy for a measly 1500 Euros while the car was looking like new. Back then the 1976 1303 or 'elephant foot' was not yet a desirable classic car.
  3. Yes i remember visiting the car show in 2002 or something with my father in law. He wanted a capable truck to tow his horse trailer. We checked out the Hyundai Galloper which was based on the trooper if i am not mistaken.
  4. Not meaning to hijack this topic, but i couldn't find a separate category for ISUZU. Anyone has off-road experiences with the ISUZU TROOPER LWB 3.2 DOHC ? According to the specs should be having close to 200hp, but they are pretty heavy and the spare part availability might be a concern, or am i wrong ?
  5. Damn thats a nice one. Definitely worth the price. Everybody’s focusing on the GTI’s but the Rallye was bloody fast and nimble.
  6. Wish i could join you guys, but i'm in Belgium for the Christmas holidays. Freezing my nuts off here......
  7. Yeah it sucks. Desertcart might be an option but overpriced. I’m on my way to Belgium for the holidays. Let me know if you want me to bring you some.
  8. The question is sometimes what they have learned in other clubs or how confidence relates to actual skills. I have always been thankful on the big emphasis on safety and camaraderie that lives in Carnity Off-Road Club. I am afraid there are many other clubs around in UAE that love the dune-bashing and wild stuff without properly building this up to a level in which they can do this in a safe way. Same for recovery techniques and convoy behavior. But agree with @BIG T that some people have previous experiences and will be able to grow on the ladder a bit faster than others and that is perfectly fine, as long as they are aware of the core values that live in this off-road community.
  9. 1) Tow hook on the back was connected to the bumper instead to the chassis itself it seems. 2) Not sure if he did previous pulls on this occasion, cause he drove off pretty fast. Would have been better if he did two slower pulls, followed by a more dynamic pull like this. 3) The rear wheels of that Prado were almost 80% dug in. Does not look like they cleared the sand out first to ease the recovery.
  10. Both have nothing to do with her choice of car but were merely comments on her choice to sleep in the car because of safety reasons. If you own a Pajero btw, people automatically steer clear from you so that’s an extra plus !
