  1. With too many cars in the driveway, and the plans to eventually start saving up to buy some property (unless i live in my car), we decided to sell our trusty Nissan Patrol Safari.

I purchased it only last year, from a colleague who had it for 7 months and never took it off-roading. The owner before him was registered as a commercial owner and had it for 8 months only, this commercial owner sold it to Al Futtaim Auto Mall and that's where my colleague bought it from. Until i purchased it, it had zero off-roading history.

The people who know me, know that i am very particular about my cars and how i maintain them. This car got all the needed maintenance from independent 4x4 garages in Dubai who know what they are doing. Only last week i completed the 80,000km as well. All invoices are available.

I kept the car mostly stock and removed the front off-road lights and cold air intake to sell the car like i got it from my colleague.

    Here are the details:

    • 79,500 km (80,000km service completed)
    • Michelin LTX AT Tyres 2023
    • Upgraded stereo (Super Safari Head Unit with reverse camera and steering controls).
    • Front bash plate 10mm
    • Underbody rustproofed and front axle reinforced
    • Upgraded Steering damper (Icon).
    • Fully serviced and accident free
    • European expat owned, not abused or modified.
    • Viewings possible in Damac Hills 2- Dubai
    • Vehicle Status report in attachment.

ASKING PRICE: 140,000AED, slightly negotiable for the person who makes an effort to come a have a look at it.

    Hi everyone,

A friend of mine from work may be buying my Pajero though he lives in Riyadh for work. He's interested in joining a club if he buys my Pajero or some other offroad vehicle and I'm wondering if anyone here knows of any decent, well organised, and safety conscious driving clubs in the Riyadh area.

Can't wait to get back onto the sand. Having withdrawal issues at the moment. 🤣

    Thanks

    Emanuel

Have a look at RiyadhRovers on Instagram. Not sure how big they are or they are still posting drives.

    Soo...

This is the error code and quote I received. It's costly but actually it's quite difficult to find a garage I trust outside the agency. At least if I get it done there I probably won't have to fix this again and get better warranty on the repair.

At least there is more information now but it seems Habtoor is gonna use the bazooka to kill a mosquito 😜

    Hi,

I'm having a similar issue with my 2015 3.8l since the weekend.

In my case I engaged 4LLc to go over a relatively steep and rocky hill. There were three of these on the trail and I did this same trail three weeks back. I have to add that the Pajero did it smoothly with the aid of the great traction control. As luck would have it, when I tried to go back to 4H after clearing the last obstacle, the center diff light started flashing.

My car is at a garage now and the fault came from the transfer case apparently, "switch 63" is what they said. So it is either the motor outside the transfer case or some internals. Now they've checked the motor and let me know it is the transfer case that needs to be replaced. I'm expecting a call back soon.

Please can anyone way in here if you have experience with this or if there is another possibility before spending a fortune.

My local number and Whatsapp is +971507972796 if it's easier to discuss.

    I'll appreciate any advice.

    Thank you.

    Theo

Just trying to get few more details:

    - Did you have a Check Engine light? Or only the blinking center diff light ?

    - Did you shift from 4LLC back to 4H in one go, or did you put the gear in neutral first ?

    - Did the orange light keep blinking in 2H on the way home ? Did it ever stop blinking even after restarting the vehicle ? Or does it only start blinking after about 20mins of driving ?

Hey @TheoB I am really surprised to hear that. There is indeed a sensor on top of the transfer case, which is a pain to replace as it's sitting on top of the transfer case and they would need to drop the transfer case in order to access/replace it.

But replacing the transfer case ? That sounds very suspicious to me. I would ask them to show you the broken part inside the transfer case. These things are really reliable can can go for many many years if properly serviced with fluids.

Hi everyone! Thank you all for your suggestions, After a year of waiting, I finally received the all new 2024 Jeep Rubicon Xtreme Recon from Trading Enterprise in April. I'm excited to go on drives with you all, but I'm not sure how many kilometers I should drive before going off-road. Any suggestions?

    Congrats ! That's a beautiful beast !

I think 400-500km on-road perhaps to get everything to settle. As you will be starting with Newbie drives first i believe its not an issue at all.

  7. Thanks for joining on this great morning out !

    @DP1011@Richard Franks@Martin M@Ben Lee@Andrew John Melvill@Ahmed Farouk@Vijay Cowlagi@Nizar Shawwa@Zubair@Islam Soliman@Prithvi Raj

The weather was quite pleasant, and i hope this area brought some "change of scenery" to the off-roading game. The dunes were quite technical and as we had to make our way from North to South, we had a lot of straight crests to tackle. Of course that's part of the fun and i was caught a few times sitting on a crest myself :)

You guys all drove fantastic, and as everyone reached early, we could do a quick briefing and leave on time. Thank you for that !

See you all soon in the sands again :)

  8. Hi @Paurav

    My two cents:

    1. Get the 2008 Prado fixed outside the dealership. It's not surprising that the Toyota dealer is more interested in selling you a new one. Seems like either they lack the expertise or time to really look into it.

    2. Get the 2020 Sahara fixed. On a car this new this is definitely not normal, but Jeeps are sensitive to wheel balance and alignment. This can be fixed. They are fantastic off-road vehicles.

The pickup you are longing for could be perhaps a Ford Ranger Raptor, but in any case i advise you to sort out fixing your existing vehicles properly, so you can at least get a good price for it. It now sounds you've given up on both vehicles.

@FredericI was really hoping to join. But somehow my personal account is wiped out...left me penniless.. I was In  Germany for  business trip but never thought this happening to me....

I’m sorry to hear that @Abhilash Kottakkal. You are definitely not the first one to encounter this. Myself and a few colleagues encountered the same thing a couple of years back. It took the bank 6 months to reinstate the money on the account. Even the bank had no clue as how it could happen. According to them the wireless tapping could have been the issue.

  10. image.png.742a0bb57ae02ac85beccc6d0f7b8183.pngGood afternoon guys !

With the hotter weather, it will be crucial to arrive on time so we can move on time. Please ensure to arrive by 06AM latest.  This means it's advisable to arrive by 5:45 so you have time to deflate, greet the other team members, and get your flag up.

It's a larger convoy for a typical Fewbie drive, so my aim will be to try and cover some good ground. With the expert support and help of @Islam Solimanand @DP1011 i am sure we will be having a great morning out.

We will use Channel 2: 446.031 Mhz.

See you all in the morning ! PS if you are coming from Dubai on the E66, you might witness the amazing sunrise on the left hand side from behind the Oman mountains !

I see. I did a fewbie drive last month (having done a number of desert drives outside the club) so I thought it was ok to sign up. But noted. @Frederic

    Hi @JanS below some info on our grading and levels;

After completing a Newbie drive, you can request a fast-tracked promotion to Fewbie level if you can document your previous drives and experiences from another club (number of drives and which level).

@Fredericyes, I already read all  regarding ranks etc.

It was on Monday thought, why they don't have drives on weekdays, and it appears, but for fewbie only..

Drives are being organized voluntarily by Marshals and expert with daily fulltime jobs like you and me :)

Some of them have availability during the week due to flexible hours/schedules, but this is not a guarantee of course for every level or every week,
