Hey Fuad,
Personally I've had no issues with the Current Mitsubishi Bottle Jack although some recommend against it, I lift the car from its control arm (make sure you have a wide baseplate). Lifting from the lower control arm means you won't have to raise the jack as much to get the rim and tyre up!
Cheers,
JasMy bottle jack is leaking and cant use it anymore further. So mandatory for me to get a new one

I would like to know expert advice in buying a hydraulic jack for my pathfinder and pajero. As it have extra clearance i would like to have something which fits fine and can be lifted with minimum effort. The stick which come along with is so small that its hard to get vehicle lifted most of the time.
-what minimum height should be taken into consideration while selecting jack height.
-preferable brands which does the job
-where to buy it from
-should lift vehicle with minimum effort.
Kindly guide in resolving this.

Firstly Fuad, Congrats on this little beast!
R50 is a great choice! Parts are super cheap and the car flies...
You need 2 things first, a lift kit and bash plate. With these two you'll tackle Liwa on its own no issues!
Secondly if you really want to spend some cash you're super lucky because you share the engine and transmission with the 350Z which has a huge performance market here in the UAE, you can find 4.2 stroker kits and have it installed for less than 10K (which is an actual joke to be honest). As long as this is a desert toy, do whatever you want and it won't let you down.
Lastly, if you don't want to go bat shit crazy... Just get some headers, exhaust and a cold air intake (with a dry filter) (should cost less than 5K all. And take the car to Qasim (AlfaTuner), he is very well respected within the UAE offroad community and has tuned almost every 4x4 I drive with (should be 1-1.5K) you'll be pushing 280HP no problems!
Thanks @Jas Gajaria for the inputs. Will definitely look into it . 👍🏻

I paid 1050 for my Pajero. Only weird thing is that the car shows as 4 cyl 2400 cc in the paperwork, so maybe they selected Pajero io model in their computer 🤔
Ok. I got quote from 2 diff companies as 1100 ..

No i think i will make it different colour later.
tow rope will be needed most of the time as its harder to control an manual rather than automatic.
automatic free to go , no tension , no worries. 😂😂😂- 1

Congrats @Fuad I guess everybody got to it before I could even think of answering any questions. You've seen my Pathy I am not much of a mod guy, but I think ground clearance could be an issue at Fewbie+ level and above. But first you need to feel the need for the mod and be specific so we can all help in making your rife closer to what you need out of it.
@Rahimdad you are my Guru. definetly i admire your skills and pathy. Thank you for guiding on acquiring a pathy of my on. Will eventually spin my vehicle and keep updated with all the mods n this thread.
will update the specs soon after this weekend.

I am glad that @Gaurav and @Srikumar said exactly what was on my mind. I just didn't want to say it first as i thought it would be best for the seniors to give their opinion. I too, totally agree that this mishap could have happened on any drive level as this particular incident had nothing to do with the "drive level" as such. In fact, this could have even happened in an absolute newbie drive. I have successfully crossed ridges on an angle, quite a few times before, so i know that i am capable of doing the same in an error free manner. On that particular day, it was an error on judgement in my part and in no way am i allowing this incident to discourage me from driving again on any level that the seniors deem fit for me to drive. In fact, on the contrary, I will be exercising way more caution going forward which will actually help me to become a better driver who is aware of the risks associated with ridge crossing.
Hats off @Shamil. Such an enthusiastic guy. We all are waiting for your come back and looking forward to drive with you.
In sha allah. 👍🏻- 6

- Headers
- Lift kit I think OME sells 1.75" springs for pathfinders
- better recovery points
- bash plate
- cold air intake
- I would remove the side steps - they reduce the ground clearance
I dont wanna remove side steps as tbh i suffered a lot when i removed side steps on my pajero.

Congrats with the ride buddy. Come and join us for a number of drives and then start setting up your plan. First stick with the basics of getting the car FULL inspected: battery, all fluids, compression, cooling system, etc.... You might need to shell out a few thousands to get that part in 100% condition.
Insepected everything, and replaced few bushes and all are good to go. Was previously well maintained by last owner.

Yeah. Thinking u r absolutely right. Looking forward to follow your suggestion.
thanks @Srikumar- 2

Obviously no cosmetics, only stability and power and safety.
