  1. I understand what you mean, but I am the type who was opening the window of the flightdeck when it is dark outside to see my engine starting, smell the burning kerosine, seeing the lightup, nice red/blue glow, hmmm, it is Christmas soon btw. But not anymore😇
  2. Am I the only one who find it an amazing place on a Friday evening? The smell of ethanol, 2 takt vs 4 takt, turbos, I love it!
  3. @desertdude thanks for the video, didn’t know this car. Also nice video from Chrysler, other manufacturers should do the same when they add new stuff to a car.
  4. Hi Srikumar, I don’t know it is due that I am in the US now, but the calendar Is saying that the drive starts at 08:15 pm on the 12th. But the drive is on the 13th starting at 06:15, correct?
  5. Guys, the only reason why Diesel engines are performing so well, is that the diesel engine was, with highlight to was (due to the law changes in europe) the best selling variant of the model because of the price of diesel. So companies started to develop the diesel engines to meet the performance of the petrol. Just imagine all the whistles and bells of a modern diesel in all petrol engines. In 1890 there was already an electric car with benz in 1885 having a combustion engine powered car. It was the lobby of oil companies that made our life dependent on oil. Diesel engines have a higher compression ratio, more torque at a lower rpm, so ideal for big engines like tanks, boats, generators, busses, trucks. The lifetime and durability of an diesel engine is in general longer the a petrol, but the design and production is more expensive then a petrol. I can continue and continue about different engines, jet engines, les rotating parts compared with a combustion engine, thats why we want them in a plane. Low maintenance, durability, but super expensive. But to come back, a simple diesel engine without a turbo vs a petrol engine in a car? I know which one I’ll choose.
  6. Steering wheel is at the wrong side!! What I would have done different: To start with the LC200, -Deflate tires, unload the car (detach the trailer), try to get out first by yourself (4L, all Diff Locks if available on), Check if chassis is free, if not, start shovelling. If possible to get out, make a track by driving forward, backwards to compress the sand. If sure that the car not gets stuck, drive back to pick up the trailer. -If help is needed to get out; ask someone else instead of this dude to snatch you out. Same principle for the tower, before pulling the LC200, deflate tires, make a track before pulling you out.
  7. A nice afternoon drive, only wondering what's better for me... Because an afternoon drive invites for other things on Thursday evening... @Emmanuel and @FredericThanks for the lead. Got a few refusals and with help from @Rahimdad I got myself out with the rear diff lock and a few other moments where he guided me with some techniques. Beautiful landscape with the sunset coming in, sharing the desert with other petrolheads. Have some nice video footage. Tried to put in a 4 minute video. Hopefully it is not too boring to watch. Hopefully you had a nice weekend, see you next time!
  8. Thank you everybody, Enjoyed the drive today. Could not say bye to everybody. Shamil, you were the gopro’s star today. Will have a look this week. Send me a private message with your phonenumber. What a toys at the end, water dripped out of my mouth.
  9. I get flashbacks of my journey to find an adapter. Honestly, I gave up. Can't give you a direction where to go for this adapter. I can tell you though that at, Dragon Mart, Ramy, and a few screw and bolt stores they couldn't help me. If you find somebody or a shop, please share it with us, you were not the first and will not be the last who is searching for this.
  10. A friend’s sister found a job in Dubai for a grooming brand. When I asked her what she does, it was the first time I’ve heard this “profession”, she is a digital influencer. I asked, a what? Yes a digital influencer. I thought it was a joke, but I hear it more and more around me. Yes, social media is ruling the world.
  11. one way is through the police application.
  12. Was wondering if there is guideline to post Carnity's related posts on social media. Is the Carnity logo in high res available, can I use it in my videos? Maybe an idea to write a guideline and a house style to use for social media for the people that want to do the effort. What about tagging etc?
  13. Correct, but officially they should ask for a signature for the verification then... "officially"
  14. Bumping an old topic. Besides the group that Saigal72 mentioned, any other clubs that are active on other days except Friday?
  15. If you give you your card, and the person makes a copy of both sides, he or she can do with it what she wants. Some banks have a verification for online transfers (after a certain amount), where you have to verify your transfer by a code that you'll receive after putting al your details (also the 3 numbers on the back). Better to pay cash.
  16. It is not the tap thing, because a full tank for mine costs 260 AED. It is probably the old school magnetic swipe with signature verification, but instead of that, they type your license plate in.
  17. Unfortunately not, ran out of batteries. Still need to find a sweet spot for my gear. Practiced today, I think I found a solution.
  18. Shared a video in the gallery, but because that the limit is 50 mb, the quality is bad, for better quality:
