  1. Just to clarify, all respect for the patience of the seniors. As I mentioned in my first trip report, I have respect for the safety, especially for the briefing. I have no critic against the structure or the performing of the club. Only want to share my feelings, little bit open cards regarding my personality. Will start practice my yoga and meditation breathing exercises again to find my patience. 🧘‍♂️ Looking forward to drive again with you guys, see you on the 6th!
  2. Good morning everybody, was a bit busy last days. In the meanwhile I've been 2 more times again to Pink Rock. Once on the same evening, man what a show on a Friday evening!!! The day after to show the sunset to my girl. Thanks again for the drive @Srikumar @Rahimdad @Atif. Thanks for the feedback @Rahimdad, this is why we come to get feedback and improve. Rahimdad was curious why I got a few refusals, to be honest now, and I hope you understand my viewpoint; I had the opportunity to be the sweep. I found the drive very easy and this is my character; when I get bored, or loose my patience I go to make it myself more interesting. Because I am at the back, I don't need to behave for the one that's driving behind me, so I can make it myself more challenging. Probably I will be shot down now by the seniors of my behaviour that safety goes first and also when you are at the back you have to drive in line with the convoy. I all understand this, trust me, but this is just my character. In all fairness, I hope that the drives will be more separated in levels. I see that a lot of guys are upgraded to a fewbie level. Also give the person the chance to go quicker to a next level drive. If you don't feel comfortable with it, let the person do some exercises, like, crossovers, sidesloping, shovelling, towing, etc etc. I am just thinking out loud, this is what I feel. This is my first offroad club experience, I have no idea how it goes in other clubs. But because I am getting bored now, I start looking to other clubs. Just my feedback!
  3. I predict and bet my money on it, that this Cybertruck will be the mainstream SUV in 5 years. Very smart move from Elon to step away from the traditional design. Finally something refreshing in the automotive world. Tesla will be the benchmark for the automotive world.
  4. @Gaurav @FredericI like this mentality. Would be nice if I manage to catch the intermediate drives before the summer. During the weekdays I go with other guys as well to the desert. There is a discussion on this board about driving in a club or private. In my opinion, the balance between driving in a club and private is perfect. The drives I already did, have thought me a lot. This knowledge I take with on the private drives where I have free time to practice them. An example of this is, when @Emmanuel took shotgun with me and instructed me how to take the side-slope. After this instruction I understood the importance to drive in some circumstances the optimum torque band of your engine. Where I would drive before that only in D and try to push as hard as possible, I am now putting the gearbox in manual and hitting the 3000 - 4500 rpm. My gearbox has 6 gears and in automatic it has the tendency to shift quickly a gear up. Toyotas have the ECT (Electronic Controlled Transmission) button, when switched on, the gearbox shifts at a higher rpm, that already helps when the pace is a bit faster and it becomes a bit more technical, so you keep a bit more control, but as soon when I see that I need my torque, I push the lever to the left, pull 3 times quickly backwards (from automatic to manual it goes standard to the 4th gear). What I also find out, and now I open a can with worms, is that my tires are doing super well in the sand. I am already looking ahead and making calculations how much new tires costs if I have them to replace them. As an offroader you start looking automatically at a/t or maybe m/t. Only talking about dune bashing, I think h/t are performing good enough maybe the best. Yes, when you go to wadi’s you want to have a stronger sidewall and a more aggressive thread to have more grip. With dune-bashing you want to float on the sand instead of digging yourself in. I noticed this with my friends and in the group as well. The H/T’s are actually performing very good in the dunes. As I said, I probably opened a can of worms and might be shot down now, but this is what I’ve seen and thinking about it, it also makes sense. @Frederic Thanks for the link, have something to watch again :).
  5. I am already calculating in my mind how many months it will take for me to join you. Looking forward!!!
  6. Hi all, I respect the structure and appreciate the values of the club. Unfortunately I can't participate every Friday, beside that I drive regularly during the week with friends. According the structure I am a newbie. I don't want to jump over other people, but to keep the drives a bit challenging for myself, I ask kindly if I can join next drive a Fewbie drive. Just to keep it interesting for myself. Don't know how to raise this question, that's why I hijacked this topic.
  7. Despite that the alarm went off to disturb my nice deep sleep and pulling me out of my warm comfy bed, I'm glad that I went today. The highlights of today: Thank you @Srikumar to lead the drive and @Emmanuel to split the drive and make it a bit more challenging for the people that were driving behind him. @Gaurav demonstrated how to shovel correct, very informative. I drive regular with friends during the week, when some of us get stuck, the first tool we grab to, is the rope. I doubt if one of my friends knows how to shovel correctly, instead of just displacing sand. This is a great example how valuable a driving club is. This will be luggage I'll take with me for the rest of my life. (And yes, I am one of those that goes alone to the....🤐) He also demonstrated how to fix a popped tire. Good to see the importance to carry the correct tools and the knowledge of your own car. This got me thinking, if it will happen to me, where I should jack my car. (opening my user manual 🧐) Not to forget @Shamil, the backup bone of the drive. And last but not least, @Rahimdad. He didn't participate with his own car, but treated us with his pancakes. What is the name of the recipe? Unfortunately I had this time no one next to me to make pictures of the drive, and I was too lazy to mount my gro-pro. Next time again. @Halit Mert IsseverLooking forward to your new Go Pro footage! See you in two weeks.
  8. Shared transport like an Uber or Ekar but 100% autonomous transport. Door to door transport, vehicle will be used to optimum performance. And like the horse, we will go on our days off to the circuit or desert to enjoy our hobby.
  9. Children in traffic, all forms, not fastened in a car, on a bicycle, playing near a school. It is not the child I am scared of, but the lack of education.
