  1. @Simon D drives are a mix of 2 scoops of adrenaline stir fried with 6 ounces of learning resulting in a drive you playback in your mind until the next weekend. @Emanuel being the awesome second lead that he is. Thanks for watching my plate for me too Loved the efforts on the videos! Learnings from this drive - Wiggling the steering on climbs can help gain 15-20% more area than normal - Tried 4Low on 3rd as Jimny is a high rev car anyway. It immediately turned into an RC car. - '8' shape driving or snake maneuver can make a Jimny cross whatever is thrown at it. Looking forward to the next one #JimnyPower
  2. Man that sunrise, can't get it out of my head @Amr A an excellent second lead, timely prompts and heads up helped avoiding traps. @Lala G's clear non verbal confidence boosters whenever I steered down were welcoming. @DP1011 your drives are becoming my favorite. You take time to discover your convoys areas of improvement and segment your drives in that order 👏. Plus going above and beyond to stay with me and assist with the form submission on the dubai police app even after everyone left deserves another 👏 Learnings from the drive 1. Plate numbers need to be glued and bolted into the bumper for extra protection. 2. Being a Jimny, ride riding can be tough due to being a smaller vehicle, requires 200% attention. Summary on plate: Got a call from the police to confirm where the plate was lost. After the certificate was received I went to Ras Al Khor heavy vehicle testing branch, as they are the only ones having a print factory. 75 dhs later, plate was in hand. Bracket was ordered from Amazon. All well and good and thank you all for the treasure hunt! #JimnyPower
  3. Hey @Gaurav, I’ll be dropping out of this one. Everything was good until I lost my front plate during the FB+ drive with Deepak sir just now and Dubai police report will take 3 working days. Have a great one and see you soon
  4. Great to see so many people sign up and them showing up. Really shows the strength of Carnity. @Vanessa8580 great to see you again & thank you for leading the convoy! @Frederic Thank you for the amazing pictures and letting me in. Whole different energy with you around haha @Ali-M Tea was amazing! @Xavi Moyano Great catching up - see you on the next drive (will get 'it' from Pakistan on my next visit) As we are dropping suggestion, I would like to too. Option A: 5 day Oman trip powered by our master planner @Frederic Option B: Season 2 of 7 emirates - due to the weather and most of the gang in the country, Ill volunteer to make the logo for it @Vanessa8580 told me how proud you were on the logo badge Option C : Wadi only drive with BBQ Have a great week all!
  5. Hey @Simon D, My car has been blocked by 2 a…. I’ve tried the police but no luck. Unfortunately won’t be able to make it in time. Sorry man. See you in the next one 🫡
  6. Amazing route planned! I’ll fill up the tank fully (45L) before coming, will that be enough for the whole ride? @Frederic
  7. Thank you everyone for the replies. Much more insight and clarity! @Gaurav I checked with Dynatrade, they have stopped that service. But I am keen on researching more on this. 30k difference is a lot in my opinion. Thanks for the heads up! @PAJERO petelczyc luke that is correct, they are not taking any bookings for now, which leans more towards an import from KSA or Oman. Ras Al Khor guys are charging 40k surplus for the same car. I don't think it's worth that extra payout. @Frederic Lots of LC content on the page you shared, followed it. PS: Jimny got a 8.5/10 yay! @Gurcharan Mehta Both retro kings and Japanese masterpiece and about the same price. Agreed. @Alphin Aloor Agreed, only thing stopping me is Fred saying 'this is the only car I can see the fuel gauge move back while driving' haha 🙏🏼
  8. Hello humans, During my KSA trip in November '23, I stumbled upon LC70's being used as police vehicles. I really liked the retro look and hey the pricing is more on the 'affordable' end. As I dug deeper in my research it became more and more confusing, while some parts of the world have a 2.7L Turbo, some have a 4L V6. A few praise diesel over petrol options and some have better specifications as standard (winch incl). Coming from a Suzuki Jimny, almost anything is an upgrade. While sitting at AED170-180K and 6 month waiting period, I wanted to summon our current LC70 users of Carnity (please tag them here) and veterans of the off roading world to guide me through this topic. 3 reasons why you would not recommend the car (excluding pricing) 3 things you wish you knew before (or almost) purchasing the car 3 things you immediately changed to improve the performance of the car (Fred mentioned spacers or offset rims) 3 things have have broken down in your tenure Are you happy with the engine? Is it dated? Someone said, this engine is virgin. Would love to know more. ..and lastly, how does it drive on road and off road - what's the fuel economy you're getting? (8km/l as per website) Feel free to throw any links or forums you would like me to further research on. Thanks for reading
  9. I have never seen @Davie Chase climb dunes the size of Eiffel Tower before. There's always a first time! I have pushed the Jimny and it delivered well. On it's own pace at times, but kept moving, that too on a FB+ means a lot to me. Thank you for believing in me and letting this happen 🙏🏼 Learning from the drive 1. Tactical first gear is very important to climb on the softest of soft sands of AD. By tactical I mean setting it to 1st but not flooring it until the right time (10% area left before the climb). 2. Steer down and try again, another shirt for me to print and wear. Helped in tricky situations 3. @Patrick van der Loo, without you this would had been very tough. I hereby grant you the title of #JimnyGuardian. Your patience allowed me to focus on what to do to tackle what's ahead. Thank you very much, and I look forward to learning a lot more from you soon. Although the track is fully churned up by being second last in the convoy, your guidance always finds a way to make the Jimny keep moving. 4. @Imran Asghar set a new refusal tune. No going back now. 5. Closing windows is wiser when in a FB+ drive, I had sand in places I never thought sand could be in. Talking about my car. @Emanuel an awesome SL as always. I use a SnapMount with DJI Osmo Action 4. Mount is strong enough to be held up at Sharjah Post Office due to its rare earth magnets lol. I use 2.7k, 60fps. Comes out as smooth as Sweihan's sand. @Issam Atra I'm extremely glad that you are okay and I wish to see you back in the sand very soon @Gurcharan Mehta, thanks for stepping in during the situation and I did check out the LC70 after the drive, thanks to your convincing. #JimnyPower
  10. Congratulations @Abdullah N! See on sand this week! 👽
  11. Thanks Ben, Deepak sir, Issam, Emmanuel, Fred, Waqar - See you all soon!!
  12. Hey @Davie Chase! Just got promoted an hour ago (yaaaay!!) Is it possible to be shifted to waitlist for this drive while I have Gauravs afternoon drive at 1pm? Website is not allowing me. It’s a 30 min route from Nahil to Murqquab. I wouldn’t wanna miss the opportunity to surf those soft sands with you 🌵
  13. Throughly enjoyed the drive. First time with you @Ale Vallecchi certainly won't be the last Learning from the drive: 1. Jimny's can climb (almost) anything; just need momentum, first gear and their own route. ⚡️ 2. Solar park tower is confirmed to be the Eye of Sauron. 👁️ 3. Today's drive rewrote the meaning of 'technical drive' in my books 👏🏼 4. Whether its digging out an entire dune or fixing a tricky pop out - @Ale Vallecchi knows how to keep his cool 😎 See you all on the next one! #JimnyPower
  14. Very well paced drive, enjoyed every bit of it! @DP1011 count me in as a regular now Learnings from the drive: 1. Suspension upgrade made the drive 11x more comfortable. 2. Jimny's can also get crested, who knew 🤷🏼‍♂️ 3. @Gaurav is set to go deeper to unbox the soft sand mystery 💪🏼 See you all soon!
  15. A mighty congratulations @DP1011!! How about thermos coffee a standard on your drives?
  16. Broooo!!! Congratulations!!! See you soon 👏👏 @Dan S
