  1. Driving always on tiptronic has solved my transmission overheating problem. I'm driving on 1-2 and sometimes 3rd gear only during offroad. I believe the problem with Pajeros is that the poor automatic gear responses on "D" mode - it is definitely switching late! During off-road, when it is finally engaged to a gear as per your speed, it is generally too late and your rpm has already changed to another. So it is struggling to comply by constantly changing the gear and simply causes overheating... Transmission overheating problem started during my early intermediate drives (mine is 3.5 2017 LWB) and finished when I started to use tiptronic. If it is even happening on newbie drives, sounds a bit strange and I think something is wrong with the new model pajeros.
  2. One of the best drives I ever made! incredible drivers, no stuck, no rope, and no any weak ring in the convoy chain! everyone was perfect to track @Luca Palanca Falsini's challenging but wonderful routes. I'll keep everyone's name in my mind! Thanks to @sertac and @Luca Palanca Falsini offering us this amazing experience, @Thomas Varghese perfectly dealing with sweeping! My special notes; wranglers @Arman @N@ved you were so boring! Have more refusals next time still wondering who is cleaning sand from your cars after these drives pajeros @sri ganesh @Abdul Rahman Abdul Kader @Danish Mohammad you all proved that you exactly know capacity of your cars and able to keep them on optimum balance. next time better not to line up pajero after pajero because we are getting confused and lost in the track! @Rizwan Waheed was the first pajero I've seen reaching up that height on faya (just after me )! congrats buddy! @Bernd Stucke do not know where he found that ugly truck but it was good looking while churning the sand at least! drive it on the sand then @imranaasghar81 hidden support of each drive! if you have him in the convoy, means you have one additional CF/sweep ready to help whenever needed. it was good watching you on my mirror, perfectly surfing on the ridges! ...and @Thomas Varghese continuous updates, supports and advices from the back... not an easy thing for a fewbie especially in high-tempo drives, like we did yesterday. well done! See you on next drive guys!
  3. Welcome on board @Denizzalbayrak Congratulations! Eglence yeni basliyor!
  4. A fantastic day never to be forgotten! For me, it was an unbelievable return to the newbie era after months! I think some kind of magnetic field is being formed when we drive together with @Wrangeld which is attracting all sort of desert challenges to design a unique 'epic drive'. Fortunately this one was in a lovely weather just on the contrary of our previous epic show we had in midsummer The convoy was quite good with excellent drivers, each one did it great! The most impressively, there was a perfect cooperation among the drivers under systematic coordination of @Wrangeld, who dealt with every single issue like managing an orchestra, as always he does! it was amazing to see everyone supporting to another in the recovery of six cars one by one or simultaneously at that nightmare bowl. Without such teamwork, it wouldn't be possible to quit in full number from that pit I believe... @Dodi Syahdar sacrificed himself by recovering other cars in the bowl, immediately after lost his 4W traction. Hope no any big issue with the car and you can quickly come back on the sand with your beast. Having said that each driver on this drive was quite lucky! it normally takes weeks or months to experience a ton of different off-road challenges but you faced to all in a single drive! Thank you all for this experience and see you soon in new adventures!
  5. @sri ganesh @Rizwan Waheed always be careful with 4HLc mode since its locked center-diff. Use it only on soft ground and avoid to make fast + sharp turns while it is engaged.
  6. very soft sand should generally be avoided I think. no one would expect this on such a hill...
  7. This is the man I was expecting to see on board! Very happy to see you on this level my friend @Yousef Alimadadi
  8. @Gaurav @Frederic @sertac @Rahimdad @Shehab Alawadhi @Arda Yagcioglu @Mohamed Seidam @Chaitanya D @Yousef Alimadadi @Abdul Rahman Abdul Kader @Anish S @Brette thank you very much to you all friends. Impatient to join new drives with you!
  9. @Chaitanya D congratulations Doctor, nice to see you on this grade. perfectly deserved and looking forward to drives with your leading
  10. Behold! Oceans of sand will be churned under Captain Ahab and his Mobydick then! Congratulations buddy @Ahab Shamaa
  11. Sure @Rahimdad i'll not give up but it's good idea to have some of your 'cheat routes'. I know your car is 3.3 L only but you have some 'super-magic' skills covering the gap I think So, if i manage to reach at the top with using one of your cheat routes then I can show off with my personal driving skills rather than the car's capacity. This give more satisfaction I think
  12. @Srikumar @Gaurav @Anish S @Frederic @Wrangeld Thank you all for these feedbacks. The issue is well lighted up. I am globally happy with my Pajero since it is definitely good in technical areas. As @Srikumar mentioned, we are rarely doing long hill climbs but need technical recovery capabilities in almost every single drive. So, I agree now that long hill climbing should not be the sole criteria to judge an off-road car. @Anish S @Gaurav @Wrangeld yes, maybe it is better to re-motivate myself not to look up of the hills only. I will try some attempts with 4HLc but your technical comments are very logical, so I do not think this would make a difference better than 4H... @Anish S thank you! You and me are trying to exploit full capacity of our cars so this helps development of our skills I think... @Frederic, I am also using my car for family purposes as well and Pajero is quite sufficient especially in my situation with two small monsters on the back seats and with many stuff on the luggage. So yes, this satisfies the both on and off road. That's why we will continue with this for a while I think. Maybe later I can convince my wife to sell her convertible audi and replace it with a SWB Wrangler, which still she can open its top and I can borrow some days when long-hill climbing is required.
  13. As some of you already know, I have been suffering from the performance of my 3.5 L - LWB pajero in recent drives. It is well-enough on small technical dunes and most of the times I am able to make self-recoveries. However, I think the HP of new-gen pajeros are not enough (190 HP only) to drive on long-track taller dunes. My car is not able to reach at the top of Al Faya or iftar bowl dunes and I always have to steer down at the half of the way since it is losing its momentum. I have tried with 2nd gear, first gear, high speed and pushing maximum; but none of those ever worked... As far as I see during my drives, even 3.8 L versions are not able to do it... Don't know the others, but I am a bit bored to watch all xterras, FJs, wranglers easily reaching up... My question is about 4HLc gear mode whether it can be used for such long climbing tracks. I circled it on the photo below. This one is high-gear mode with locked-center. I know that the locked differential is not advised on paved roads and also not safe if you need to make turns. However, does it work on sand (soft ground) and on a straight direction? For example, climbing straight up to al faya without making sharp turns? Do not have any idea whether this mode would increase the performance so your comments are appreciated, if any one has used this mode before. @Frederic @Vanessa8580 @Gaurav @Wrangeld @Anish S @Veedooshee @Yousef Alimadadi
  14. congrats my friend @Luca Palanca Falsini . Looking forward to join new adventures under your leading
  15. Great news that we can drive together on this level. Let @Anish S sit on passenger seat for a while then Congrats @Veedooshee enjoy your new challenge!
  16. Would be perfect but unfortunately I will not be able to go any drive next week 🎅 I'll look for the next... Have extra fun on my behalf as well!
  17. Everyone was excellent on this drive! Thanks to @sertac @Luca Palanca Falsini and @Nivin for good leading and to all others having perfect speed with no stuck in the main part of the drive. @Athula Dharmadada hope you can easily fix the radiator problem and back to the sand soon. Even the ending part of the drive was funny for me since it was a good experience for everyone to handle in such a difficult technical area. This was my first time in this track and now it has become one of my favorites. All types of dunes are together here so we were able to play on long dunes as well as challenged with difficult technical dunes in a single drive! I will follow all drives in this area to join! See you all on the next challenge!
  18. @sertac I have joined an intermediate drive on Saturday already but could join your drive as well. Pls add me on the waitlist for second drive in case there is slot available by wednesday.
