  2. Sadly may car has some issue with the wiring since last week’s drive and they are trying to diagnose the issue. There is some kind of earthing somewhere on the car and unfortunately the mechanics haven’t been able to find the short. Meanwhile @Davie Chase has been godsend and has agreed to take the convoy on a wonderful adventure. To be frank I would have loved to be at the back on the drive led by @Davie Chase so you guys are in for a great drive. Have fun guys. @Mahesh_, @Rk ram, @Ishak, @Gertjan, @Batuhan Kulac, @Charbel
  3. It wasn't a very long drive, but it was quite challenging, and for the first time, I felt it required a lot of expertise to navigate the route on this particular day. Until now, all the intermediate drives at Badayer had felt more like Fewbie Plus +, but this time was different. The terrain's sand was extremely soft, making it difficult even to maneuver. Since we were the first to climb them dunes, I hardly saw any tracks except for a few faint lines, that means wind had erased the tracks left by Saturday's convoys. As the name suggested, the drive was quick, with less than two hours including breaks, and the driving time was less than an hour and a half. We ventured into some less frequented places, adding to the uniqueness of the experience. Thank you @Benjamin, @Mahmoud Taha and @Ishak for joining the drive.
  4. Congratulations on your promotion @Cristian, well deserved and enjoy the new level. 💪
  5. Congratulations @Mahesh_ on your promotion the Intermediate Level. Enjoy 💪👍
  6. In other news, it was a fantastic lead by @DP1011 and I was quite happy in the middle of the convoy for a change. @Luke K P as second lead was fantastic and made the drive challenging for all the guys at the back. I can tell you that the #6 or #7 car onwards the track was fully churned up and it was quite a challenge to drive there with frequent refusals, but I suppose it was also a great learning experience for both drives and for me while managing the refusals. Whenever we stopped for sidees or bowls it was great fun and had enjoyed a lot on the drive. @Frans M and the sweep for the first part of the convoy, @Faraz94 and the second lead behind me and @Zulfikhar Naiyar as the overall sweep did a great job.
  7. Everything that happens - happens for a purpose - some say Karma is a B*&^%h. The meeting time was 5:30 for drive off time set to 5:45 and we were already late after the briefing done and FB+ convoy was in their cars and were about to move out. I was quite sad at that time that we had to turn you back; but glad that there was another convoy to join. However please do understand that even 5 more min is 5x14=70 collective minutes lost. Having said that we were even more glad that you joining the newbie drive helped @Batuhan Kulac and the entire convoy. and you were: Meanwhile I remember once tugging you out after you had a bad pop-out. It was your payback for that tug. just fyi - @Batuhan Kulac had even worse experience been late once before. By the time he reached the meeting point few weeks ago; not only the convoy had left; but there was no alternative drive to join as well. It's always heartbreaking to see someone drive 100+kms only to drive back.
  8. DRIVE PLAN Let's drive into sunset this Saturday afternoon starting at Lisaili Camel Track. 9. Don't do that. Fill up at ADNOC Service Station | Al Hayer-2 (659) (can buy coffee here) or better ENOC | 1914 | Nahil (only fuel) and proceed to go to the meeting point as usual. which is shown in the map below in green: Not advisable to do is to go to Nahel Adonc 658 and take a slight detour on the wrong way for about 20ms in the morning - no traffic roads.
  10. A couple of pointers regarding the meeting point: First: You can fill up at Nahel Fuel Station. It is about 100 m ahead of the road that leads to the meeting point; so, you may need to manage to reach to the road. Next; the entrance to the meeting point potentially can be swamped. Avoid the red circled area. You may take the left bank near to the bushes and come in & do not take any other track. There is an automated gate to the entrance. There could be little more water a bit ahead as well but that will not be an issue.
  11. @Andrew John Melvill congratulations on your promotion! enjoy your new level.
