  1. Got a work around for pumping up at the gas station. I have bought air chucks off the Amazon and when I put them on I am able to use the petrol pump air stations to air up the car.
  2. I have a AOR jack but it is too small for most cars and find it difficult to lift cars where I have to put the jack deep under the car because the handle does not have much space to lift the car. It is however quite compact and fits perfectly behind the front row seats in the foot well and thus easy to tuck it there without any need for more securing. Won’t recommend other than for light and stock suspension cars. Ordered a Performance Tools 2.5 Ton lift today.
  3. It was my first drive with @Brette since 20 Nov 2020. When we were reaching the meeting point, it was clear but soon a layer of fog descend. We started the drive but as the conditions soon become not so conducive for safe driving we took a halt for sometime till the fog lifted, soon we had our first pop out of the day. After we reached near the pink rock we moved towards big red. While initially all was smooth just before the exit we found ourselves with 3 back to back pop outs and a stuck. Luckily the temperatures were still bearable and thanks to @Brette all pop outs were fixed and we exited. Overall a nice experience for all involved in both driving as well as in for recovery. All in all everyone drove quite well and hopefully enjoyed the drive as well. I can say I did. @Krishna R you need to get rid of those HT tires and have some ATs on your car. They are really pulling you back due to lack of traction, and hence the refusals. Suggest you go for 1-2 more newbie drives to get acquainted with the new shoes on your ride. @TT_Dubai you were excellent as the second lead, thanks a lot. Finally a big thanks to @Brette for a great drive today and hopefully many more to come in the future with you.
  4. Congratulations @Pacific, well deserved. Welcome onboard.
  5. @Ahmad Shaker I have all most all of 19th and few min of 20th Dash-cam footage. It will be 62.79 GB on disk for 541 items. How do you want me share it to you - I can put it on a One Drive and share the link if it is okay ?
  6. @Wafi Ziadeh if you can bring that would be great else we will be providing a walkie talkie. Flag while is not considered a must for the first absolute newbie drive - is mandatory from your second drive onwards - so it is good to have one irrespective.
  7. you got a newbie drive so you are good I guess. see you tomorrow buddy.
  8. You guys had fun. Isn't desert dive like an obstacle course? Apart from driving, a lot of fun can be had from the recoveries. For both people involved in the recovery - to plan and execute a recovery or as spectators who either observe and learn or if it is a normal one then they socialize - fun, nevertheless. Making memories as we go.
  9. @Anoop Nair did you forget to stop the recording, that total time is a lot. Moving Speed and Moving time looks like it was a fairly fast paced drive.
  10. @JERINE_B yours is a 4 door. It lasts longer than 2 door Jeeps, but it will go nevertheless. Jeep has low profile bumper but they don’t bring cars here with those bumpers. Even the one that I have made me loose the rear parking sensors.
  11. I still haven’t gone to RTA yet in 2 years for renewal but I guess it should be okay.
  12. The bumpers on short wheel based cars are more prone to breakage compared to long wheel based cars. Long wheel base cars fare better but the desert terrain is such that sometimes unexpected events happen. It was stock for him and mine too for the first 3, even the Mopar bumper number plate holder broke for me before I lift the car that’s why you see a number plate relocation bracket on my car. My suggestion is to buy an aftermarket rear bumper if you are going for a Mopar look alike bumper. It retains the parking sensors and does not come in contact with the rear tail hook. For front go for mopar, or ensure that the front tow hooks from the original bumper are kept if you are going for the Mopar look alike bumper. AOR makes bumpers that look alike the Mopar bumpers. They are made of aluminium I think and are light and half the cost.
