I don’t mind the timings at all @Tero Vallas. To me, they’re actually perfect as I get to do something I like, and be back home by the time my family is ready to tackle their Friday; be it movies, shopping or lunch. The early timing makes it that these drives do not interfere with my day; and that’s a big plus. Now as @Rahimdad mentioned, when the Carnity structure has more drive-leads, I would like to see more Saturday drives and more afternoon drives. This way, the times and dates can cater to everyone 😀 Last but not least, @Foxtrot Oscar, when we’re fully staffed and ready, I’d like to see someone deflate and inflate my tires, while I sip on a cold “non alcoholic” margarita 😂😂😂

What a cool video! Thanks for sharing @Heisem! This was an amazing and unpredictable drive Between the pop-out, the stucks, the sick passengers and helping out complete strangers, the drive was very entertaining to say the least. I found my work cut-out for me from the moment we hit the sand! Some of the maneuvers that @Ale Vallecchi had planned for us, scared me and some surprised me; but all of them exhilarated me. @Foxtrot Oscar, you were an amazing second-lead and lead. Thanks for your guidance and for bailing my butt out from that infamous stuck; we certainly had an audience 😂 @Foxtrot Oscar and @Pancho, I believe you guys will make great leads because you're patient and caring. Good luck with the new endeavor! @Najeeb Mohammed, thanks for your help and I hope to see you on future drives to learn some more of those tricks you have up your sleeve Finally, special thanks go to @Ale Vallecchi for being one of the best teachers out there. Loads of patience and relentlessness in helping the pack out; even though the pack proved to be somewhat challenging See you guys soon!

What an exciting drive today 😀 Learned a lot, met some great people, and experienced a few new techniques. @Ale Vallecchi and @Foxtrot Oscar, thank you very much for the tremendous effort you put in teaching us, encouraging us and keeping us safe. @Malachy McGrogan, thank you for taking the time to recover my fallen toolkit bag 🙏🏻 @Gaurav and @Rahimdad, I didn’t have refusals or get stuck today; I’m not sure if it’s the Yokohamas (as promised by Gaurav 😂) or if it’s Angela’s endless transmission of positive energy and good vibes 😃 Thanks to all fellow drivers for their helpfulness and team spirit 🙏🏻 See you all on the sand real soon!

Every off-roader must know: What Went Wrong?

Got it 😀 I’ll keep your explanation in mind, Jedi Master @Rahimdad! For now, the only senior I see coupled with my name, is senior citizen 😂 O ye of little faith -
Hey @Rahimdad, now you’re just being humble 😀 I believe you’re an awesome driver, as I’ve heard the same statement from Ale, Gaurav, Frderic, Mohamed and several others... With or without your superman tees, you couldn’t have fooled everyone 😀 Hope to see you in action soon!

Whoa! @Mohamed Seidam, those are some audacious statements 😂 I haven’t had the pleasure of driving with @Rahimdad yet 😀 Hopefully soon, I’ll get to drive with both of you guys 🙏🏻

@Rahimdad, Done deal buddy 😂 I’m glad to hear that @Mohamed Seidam 😀 I get to test them out tomorrow morning; bright and early 🙏🏻

Thank you all for these lessons; I perceive them as invaluable 🙏 However, the more I read and learn, the more I'm getting nervous; I'm not sure I'm going to remember any of these lessons once I'm on the sand 😂 Let's see this Friday with my new set of Yokohamas. -

Ok @Gaurav, @Nivin, @Rahimdad, @Mohamed Seidam, @Jihad Hachem and @luwaimn, Yokohama Geolandar G015s are finally on! I am pleased to report that they're much, much quieter than my old BFGs. I bought them online and had them installed at an affiliated shop. So now that the tires are out of the way, can I expect never to get stuck in the sand again? 😂 When I was younger, white tennis shoes made me run faster 🤣

So @Rahimdad, is it a rule to follow “drive higher on the ridge of the dune”? Maybe we can have @Ale Vallecchi illustrate how to do that this coming Friday or Saturday with his toy car. My first drive with Ale, he used a toy car and a made-up sand dune, to explain to the group what he wanted us to do. Low and behold, things just sunk in for me. I have to visualize things to understand them I guess 😀 -
Thanks a lot @Ale Vallecchi! Great write-up; I felt like I was reading an action-packed movie trailer 😀 I also think it’s a great idea to get FJ Cruiser owners together for learning and advice. I’m so ignorant of my car, that I didn’t find out how to turn off traction control until my third drive with Carnity, and only after a fellow FJ owner showed me how to do it (I kept on wondering why I kept on getting stuck)😂

Thanks a lot @Gaurav, this is helpful 😀 I’m sure I can figure it out.

4mm skid plate - is it enough?
Ahab Shamaa replied to Niki's topic in Toyota FJ Cruiser Forum in UAE
Hey @Niki Patel, I just had a skid plate installed on my car yesterday. I saw the offer you’re talking about for all 3 skid plates for 900 AED (ARB I believe). I passed on that offer, and instead opted for an 8 mm aluminum front skid plate. The shop took measurements of my car and laser-cut the plate and installed it. It was around 1000 AED for this job, and the bash plate looks very solid.- 14 replies

Thanks a lot @Gaurav! That’s great information. Yokohama Geolandar G015 tires it is 😀 Do you still remember what shop you got yours at in Sharjah so that I can use the same shop?
