I am counting this as my 3rd Technical Challenge drive of 5+ hours and I am in for more ! @Paul Zeitoun - thanks for your guidance for a successful self recovery. Wish you all a great week ahead.

    Hi @Gaurav - a good quality tripod, in my opinion: Benro. Since 2014 I use the Benro C2970T with an Induro BHL1 head. The tripod has twist leg locks and a detachable central column. Benro's kits bring spike feet which are useful in soft surfaces. I would recommend you to also look for an L-bracket, this allows you shift from landscape to portrait mode without having to manipulate the tripod's head.     Good evening to all As usual, a pleasure to drive with the Carnity crowd. It was a challenging drive, which was very much expected. We drove 10 Km in 7 hrs and has made me respect the desert even more. @Wrangeld and team thank you for your support! I managed to take a few pictures which are now posted in the gallery.     I came across a FB post of someone who put together a system for astrophotography, thought it would be of interest to see it and know about the parts. The person claims its cost was around USD 1,700, excluding the camera, which is a Nikon D850. - William Optics ZenithStar 61II Doublet Refracting Telescope - William Optics Z61 Adjustable Flattener - Optolong L-eNhance Filter - 2” - Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer 2i Pro Pack - William Optics Red Dot Finder Kit with Vixen Style Mounting Base Have you tried setting up something similar? what have been the results?

    It was a great and insightful evening, thank you @Mikhail Lukichev and @Frederic for organising it. Here is the picture I was after, the Orion Nebula. Blurry and noisy though, but I am satisfied with it. See you all next time!
