  1. I have a 05 discovery2, silver too, its serving as our storage now because it has no documents... I drove it first time on sand, before I had license 😛 , and also why I am here now😈
  2. I'd definitely join you if not for Liwa next day ☹️, missing doing climbs with you @Hisham Masaad
  3. Anyone else come from Dubai and plan to camp at starting point on Friday night? I can tag alone
  4. Umm I'm bit concerned now... I took booster exactly 6 month and 1 week back, i don't think 4th shoot is available right now? I'll do the PCR later today...
  5. Thank you @M.Seidam for the drive today. the second part was epic, routing back to E66 side on the slip face with faster pace, I then realized how soft the sand can be and how much more careful I should be. To be honest, every time I see @M.Seidam in the convoy whether leading or supporting, I always look forward to @M.Seidam's recovery master class, extremely informative and very well explained. Thanks everybody for such a short and sweet convey , see you next time, or Liwa next weekend😁
  6. such a short and sweet American convoy! (GCC Xterra Pathfinder both are assembled in US)
  7. i always use nissan 10k km 5w-30 full synthetic oil, change it every 6k km. Used lexus 5w-40 when nissan oil was out of stock, it looked cleaner/lighter color than Nisasn's when I changed it
  8. Good to hear... I know my car can do 60l for 100km FB/FB+, but cant guarantee the same for the dunes in Liwa. Already hunting for 20L jerry cans now
  9. Missed Dec liwa drives, can't miss this epic one. BTW how much fuel do we expect bring? 200km I'd say 140L ?
  10. Hi Shereen, for occasionaly NB FB level is ok without modification, FB+ and above you will need to improve the approaching angle and clearance. i have faced overheating issue during peak summer. and rear independent suspension did cause troubles during self recovery, solid axle does better job,but trade off is much better onroad handling for full independent suspensioned R51 Other than those R51 is powerful, heavier longer wheelbase than Xterra but not too long I would stick to the LC100, its better than R51 in general.
  11. Hi @Rob S, I have got a set of 9m recovery rope 12ton and 2 Soft shackles of 16ton, never used as a backup. If you would like to consider it as your option you can contact me at 0528402096.
  12. Two things to check if the car is FOB (fresh off the boat - never owned used UAE locally): 1: check if the car has a major accident, no affect to chassis/frame, engine, not flooded burnt - search the car vin number on google you should find the accident images and relevent information before UAE. 2: make sure the car is 4x4 - the car must have 4x4 control knob/lever of 4high 4low US cars are cost effective options, and they tend to have higher spec than GCC ones. My dream is to find a V8 pathfinder R51 here, it was only available in US market
  13. Sorry I haven't heard of any Toyota owners complain about any overheating issue in summer 😅 PS: my experience limited to 2021 summer only
  14. this is the dune that nobody else made it to the top?
  15. haha I meant the east asian type of milk tea, but surely I can judge a little on south asian type too😁
  16. Happy New Year!! May all us can climb high dunes as easy as tiger climbs trees! (Not sure if this is a right way to put it) Thanks @Gregory for the post 🔆
  17. Couldnt see the bolts in the first picture but the second pictures shows 2 bolts connecting the hook to frame, sufficient but 3 bolts and more are preferable. I think you are good for now. Looks like Prado has won battle with Fortuner without hassel
