alikhan
Can I open the radiator cap if the engine is hot/ or if the temperature light is on?
hemesh
No ways you can do that. You wanna burn your hand or something? Dont even touch it.
edward
He is right. When the engine is hot, opening the radiator cap means blowing off the complete heat which is not really good. Radiator is really hot and if you try to open the radiator cap, you may damage the complete engine system. Not only that, it may burn your skin too. gshane
That is not something that I would recommend. Wait for few minutes or even 10-20 minutes if necessary and remove the cap. If you rmeove it before the water is cooled down you won't know how much water you have and you can burn your hands too.
shadow79
Well you might miss a teeth or two if the cap aims at your face and scald your skin too wherever that high pressure cooked coolent falls so please don't attempt it for your safety and others near you..I've seen it happen at a nearby workshop.
