Powertrain Error and Fuel Consumption

My 2006 Lumina LS Alloytec is giving me a 'Check Powertrain' error along with the fuel consumption being doubled from an average of 10 L/100Km to 20 L/100Km. Any help is appreciated.

Get your CKPS (Crank Position Sensor) checked and changed if its faulty.

I doubt anyone can check CKPS in this part of the world, so better get the computer testing done for finding fault code. If it points even 1% in line of CKPS please change that. As many times CKPS failure do strange weirdo problem that is not documented and explained by any scan tool. After all its electrical glitch.
