Air compressor buying choices

The draw is mad 55amps but split over two fused wires, which is why you have 2 x 40amp fuses for the ARB it’s a split circus so the if one fails the other one still runs in most cases.

They actually pull around 27amps each so copper 10 AWG would be fine, but 8 would definitely cover it.
I went with 10 AWG  but it’s only in the back seat so was around 8 feet of wire.
but make sure this is based on copper not aluminium, aluminium definitely go  6 AWG

Have a look at below chart. Considering the distance from your battery to the compressor located in the back of the open bed, you’ll need to go for 8AWG or 6AWG. IMG_8740.jpeg.a53ab5c3e6b8bca736c139fcd33437a3.jpeg
I think the twin compressor draw close to 50Amps.

Yep that is the exact chart I’m using , just need to find where to purchase as I need 4 runs for both compressors in our two jeeps,.

Ah yes each compressor has its own supply. I thought you were planning on pulling a single power supply cable.

naah... dual arb is fused with 40 Amp fuse and at 12V it should draw from 26 to 35A max.

@Mark B, I have plenty of 10mm2 red&black cable left from my past installations (pure copper, not the aluminum+copper coated), and can share it. It's AWG8 if I read conversion tables correctly.

Hi Everyone,  I'm a Newbie; new to Dubai, new to 4*4, new to deserts, new to the club as of 10 minutes ago...  in fact I don't think you could get more newbie than me  :-D    I'm buying kit on the Essential Off-Road Gear list so I can sign up for drives.  The list is not specific about a compressor and reviewing this thread it is a tad confusing.  Looking online lots have scary online reviews about dying after a month or two.  Anybody care to suggest something that would be suitable for me?  Many thanks!
