DRIVE DETAILS

Level:  Intermediate and above

When:  1st Dec 2024, Sunday

Meeting time:  7:30 AM 

Start time:  8:00 AM - Sharp (Without any exceptions)

Approximate finish time:  4.00 PM

Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 8-10 inches of ground clearance.

What to bring along: Loads of water, snacks (for yourself), smiles, enthusiasm and willingness to learn.

Mandatory off-road gears: Tire deflator, tire pressure gauge, compressor, walkie-talkie radio, off-road flag, shovel, first-aid kit, Tow Rope, 2 Shackles and fire extinguisher.

LIMITED SPOTS AVAILABLE

• This drive is limited to 5 CARS only. RSVP will close on Friday - 9 AM
• Please withdraw your RSVP, if you find you are unable to join, so your spot can be taken by others in the waitlist.
• If the RSVP is full, you can add your name to the waitlist, if an RSVP attendee removes themselves, you will be moved from the waitlist to the RSVP list as an attendee.
• A convoy list will be sent out the day prior to the drive.
• Latecomers will be returned back - Without any exceptions.
• Members without RSVP will be returned back - Without any exceptions.
• Repeated no-show members after RSVP will have their account suspended for a month.

@Marek Plan is to drive until the fuel gauge warning shows up. I will exit only when i hear someone saying on radio "i am running out of fuel"

Checklist :

1. Please ensure to be on time at meeting point.

2. Get lots and lots of rest the previous day. The more the better as Liwa will not only challenge our vehicle but our mind as well.

3. Ensure 4x4 is well serviced recently and all the lubes and fluids are topped up.

5. Spare tire should be in good working condition. Ensure both front and back tow points are in good condition.

6. Bring lots of water (at least 5 ltr per person) breakfast, lunch, snacks, energy bar, cookies, nuts, etc etc for yourself and your passengers. We shall be having breaks in between the drive.

7. Bring garbage bags along to carry your trash. Littering in the desert is strictly prohibited.

8. Convoy position and radio frequency will be announced at meeting point.

Asif bhai ….. I drove an hour or so on Abu Dhabi highway but my car showing check engine sign and heating up ….. I have to cancel the drive 😔……

@Asif Hussain, @JeromeFJ and @Marek thanks for a day that lived up to all the hype and expectations. LIWA is most definitely a very special place, i am in awe of the places we managed to get to. Tricky climbs, desents that last for ever (with singing sand), evil pockets ready to catch any wrong move and some of the softest sand in the UAE. A very special drive that will be remembered for years!
