Morning Fewbie Desert Drive - Treasures of Qudra - Dubai - 16 Mar 2025

DRIVE DESCRIPTION : Even though the greater rainfall of the latest few years has caused an explosion of vegetation, which has transformed parts of Dubai's deserts into gardens, there is an area, unexpectedly close to the city and to one of its most visited desert attractions - the Love Lakes, that has remained pristine and almost completely clean of shrubs and grasses. We'll "discover" this dune field, with its white sand, and will criss-cross it from top to bottom.  

We request every member that joins this drive to go through the information below and strictly follow these guidelines, etiquette and responsibilities.

Drive Details

Level:  Fewbie and above (all levels)

Meeting time:  06.30 AM

What to bring along: Loads of water, snacks (for yourself), smiles, face masks, rubber gloves, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn.

Approximate finish time: 9.30-10 AM

P.S. Only join if you have a compressor to inflate your tires after the drive.

RECOMMENDED OFF-ROAD GEAR:

• Tire deflator & Tire pressure gauge
• Compressor (MANDATORY)
• Walkie-talkie radio (MANDATORY)
• Off-road flag (MANDATORY)
• Shovel, Tow Rope & 2 Shackles
• First-aid kit
• Fire extinguisher.

LIMITED SPOTS AVAILABLE

• This drive is limited to 10 cars only. RSVP will close on Friday - 12 PM.
• If the RSVP is full, you can add your name to the waitlist, once anyone drops, you will be moved to the RSVP list.
• RSVP will close a day prior to preparing a convoy list.
• Latecomers will be returned - Without any exceptions.
• Members without RSVP will be returned - Without any exceptions.
• Please withdraw your RSVP, if you aren't joining, so your spot can be taken by others.
• Repeated no-show members after RSVP will have their account suspended for a month.

Hi @Sam Selim - Attending 2 drives same-day , same time is not allowed (am not trying to understand possibility though)   - I see you are on @Frederic's drive same day and almost same time - Do you intend to leave that drive if your waitlist is confirmed on mine ?

🤣🤣 apologies @DP1011 for the confusion, if i moved from waitlist to rsvp, my preference is to join your drive due to traveling distance. However, if didnt happen then definitely I'm attending with @Frederic in the morning drive.. Hope this clarifies and is ok with both of you 😊

Hi @JC_E - I see you are on WL for @M.Seidam's night drive and even on this one - If your preference is doing a night drive, and looking at current RSVP, highly likely you will be confirmed, but if you want to do morning drive, pls let me know will confirm you for this drive.

Thanks @DP1011 for taking me off the waiting list. Having thought about it a bit more and considering I have done Qudra recently and haven't been to Al Hayer, I think the distance is worth it. Sorry for the confusion again and have a great drive. Don't miss me too much 😜

Hi @DP1011. I have to drop out from this drive unfortunately due to family commitment. I was looking forward to it as this is technically a place i spend a lot of time in.

As a bonus point for the drive, I have lost one of my speakers at the lake close to your starting point last weekend. Finders' Keepers if you find the speaker. I will share the suspected area of the lost speaker. Enjoy the drive and see you on the next one hopefully!
