DRIVE DESCRIPTION-WHAT TO EXPECT

Join us for a beginner friendly desert drive in an area that provides ample possibilities to sharpen your drive skills. From Ghantoot, known for its white smaller dunes, we will make our way North towards Al Qudra - Bab Al Shams area. A visit to a hidden lake is the cherry on top :)

All participants must review and follow the club guidelines below:

🚙 JOINING OUR CLUB FOR THE FIRST TIME?

Please share a small introduction and provide the following details:

  • Vehicle Make, Model, Color, and Year
  • Any prior off-road experience (if applicable).
  • Confirmation of front and rear tow hooks / recovery points
  • Confirmation you have a programmable radio and safety flag.
  • 🎥 MUST WATCH BELOW: Newbie Video Briefing (mandatory) 
 
🕖 DRIVE DETAILS
 

🚗VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Any proper 4x4 vehicle. If in doubt, please mention on the drive topic.
  • Front and rear tow hooks / recovery points.
  • 8–10 inches minimum ground clearance

🎒 WHAT TO BRING

  • Loads of water, snacks, smiles, enthusiasm and willingness to learn. We also recommend adequate protection from the sun and closed shoes.

🧰 OFFROAD GEARS

  • Tire deflator and Tire pressure gauge.
  • Air compressor.
  • A programmable Walkie-talkie radio.
  • Off-road safety flag.
  • A proper shovel.
  • First-aid kit and Fire extinguisher.

 RSVP

  • Confirm your attendance by clicking on "GOING" in the Calendar Event. Your name will appear on the RSVP list.
  • If the RSVP is full, add yourself to the waitlist. As soon as a spot becomes available you will be moved automatically to the RSVP list.
  • The RSVP closes one day prior to the drive
  • Latecomers will be turned back (no exceptions)
  • No RSVP = No Drive
  • Please withdraw your RSVP if plans change
  • Repeated no-shows may result in 1-month suspension

Can I join? This would be my first time joining the group drive. Looking forward to it!!

 

i have a Toyota Fortuner 4.0. Had several offroad drives in Pink Rock. Have a radio and flag :)

Hi @Frederic, Excited for this drive!

Quick question - Should we expect a technical drive with steps, sharp drops and climbs? or is it going to be more or less like the RAK drive we did a weeks ago? Why I ask is, so I know which car I can bring to the drive.

Hey @Suneedh Wrangler! thanks for signing up! This drive will be closer to a "scenic" style. The dunes are not so large and the aim would be to find some "vegetation" free areas where we can practice some skills, followed by a sitdown at the lake.

Hi Frederic 

Ranger Raptor, Burned Orange 2023 model.

Off-roading experience 
20 years off Roading light a few times a year not in a club  

10 years in various wranglers, 10 years in trucks 

Since November ( 2 times a week)  with dubai off-roaders, done intermediate course, Liwa etc….. done and supported various  recovery’s 

I have a programable radio

recovery’s hooks are in the front and the back, have all required gear, in build compressor, flag, soft Shakels, kinetic rope, shovel and sand boards.
